I'm French and am very impressed with the future of American football!
Henry est nul comme sélectionneur. Il déteste la France et aime les USA.
Our academies have gotten so much better lately
thank you! Please look for the b2006 to b2008's when they come! many have years of international game play like MIC cup, and winning! Helps that we have great international coaches and a much higher interest in the 'beautiful game!'.
So are the Mexicans ! lol Una vez Mas,dos a cero! 😂 No pare Sigue Sigue! In Spanish so there are no misunderstandings! Merci monsieur.
future????...it's been like that since 1990....
I don’t understand the French language but the guys calling the game, sound very enthusiastic and entertaining.
Thats the Equipe commentary team, they are the best French commentators around fs. Never a boring moment in the game
all I hear is France and Gerard Depardieu
I'd rather listen to this and not know what their saying than the majority of boring commentators in English
They weren’t biased or one sided either. The called a great game and I only watched the highlight.
@@jexantus I was about to say this: most French commentators used to be super biased, this was a fair commentary!
Wow, the Americans have come a long way. Good match.
🇲🇫🤝🇺🇸
Yea they were against Frances b team & on friendlies if it was round 16 above & using their a team it would’ve been 4 - 0 were way behind to beat world champion class countries were just good against Mexico now
@@Handlinyomommascheeksthis wasn’t the US’ A team either. The USA is getting better as a whole. The game of proper football is getting bigger here, thankfully.
@@jamessmith-hf5tl yes it’s getting better but we’re definitely not beating France or Argentina
@@Handlinyomommascheeks we've beaten brazil and spain before with a team that isnt half as good as the one now, anything is possible and the US is getting better
@@David-dg9vu true but just saying things from reality we don’t wanna be like Mexico just because we’ve been getting better doesn’t mean we gotta let out guard down yk?
thank you for not posting the score in the title
I am glad ... they did not post it ! ... so excite to watch the game !
Such a great point.
agreed!
Yes
Ik I’m so happy finally I didn’t want a spoiler
Fun match. If the young men on both sides get a little more clinical in their finishing, they'll be quality players.
Yeah, the amount wide and high shots was surprising. Could be they were trying too hard- especially the US. But when they just got it on goal good things happened.
I think you gotta go through medical school to be more clinical
@@KinhEric🤣
Amen. There is immense talent in both programs.
A lot of MLS talent here. Good to know the league is focused on development instead of dollars. I know we get tired of seeing us lose champions against liga mx but when I see these kids heading in the right direction, I calm down lol. Let’s go USA!
Focused on developing Dual-Nationals and Nepotism babies. Ask yourself how much the academies cost. 😅
@@cuzzozanteeno2127 That is how all the BIG clubs in Europe do it sadly and other football countries tbf. You know some people, you pay your way into a try out and hopefully you get yourself an academy spot. BUT the whole point is that we are starting to see improvement in our home grown players rather than getting USMNT players that are "technically" Americans. (I still love Antonee Robinson and Dest) Yes hopefully one day down the future it'll be just as easy as sending your kids to academy like travel baseball or basketball here, but as for right now seeing this U23 team, we are in the right direction.
@@cuzzozanteeno2127every MLS club has a free academy
Yeah I saw Schulte, Macguire, and Morris; I assume Diego Luna and Caleb Wiley were somewhere too. It's encouraging to see MLS academies producing YNT level talent.
@@cuzzozanteeno2127 at least MLS ain't buying players left, right, and center like the Saudi League just to show that its a 'competitive league' lol.
American football generation looks bright ! Happy for them. Great team spirit.
US GK was astounding
Yep. Spider Man!
J'étais dans le stade et j'ai vu une belle équipe américaine et aussi bon esprit collectif.
Both sides have immense talent. Great match. We (USA) must work on finishing. Lord. 🙄
Hell of an angle on that shot by Cade Cowell
The deflection helped just a wee bit, but it counts either way.

@@rubenhernandez6594 It's okay to call the USA "America." Nobody will behead you for it.
What do you mean ‘euro squad’? You know the U.S. doesn’t get to play in the Euros right? Or are you saying they look like a European team?
Non existing penalty gift plus a game at home is definitely a LOSS for France.
non existing penalty ? You need big glasses if you cant see the hand touching the ball dude
@@jimmyboe8246 ,..the ball deflected up to his elbow!!!!?????
@@aspet4553 not to mention it was in a natural position. not to mention if anything it allowed france a chance at goal as opposed to stopped.
and the fact that it's against a poor team like the USA
Not the point, good to see them going up against other good players and getting some experience.
Let’s go USA USA 🇺🇸
Crazy I grew up playing soccer with Americas Goal keeper pat. Saint Louis Missouri baby! Stl fc repping!! God bless the USA🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
He waq good ?
Penalty was a farce. The advantage was played after the penalty and he had a clear shot that he missed. So they were given two clear chances to score by the ref. That’s not how “advantage” is supposed to be applied.
it's exactly how must be done.
That's not how it works lol. The play on in the box is because the ref wasn't a 100% sure of the Pen. once the ball was dead hes able to then review it and give the Pen.
It’s much more simple.
It should never have been a hand ball, as his hand was in a natural position, by his side, until the ball touched him and he raised both of his arms as a reaction. A clear failure by the replay.
that is exactly how the rule works
Exactly they dug real deep to find the error.
The US should’ve won by at least 3 with how many point blank chances they had. Our country lacks elite finishers who can score
Yep. You can't miss when unmarked from right in front of the goal. Three times. 🤦♂️
I have no idea what these French announcers are saying but I know they are having a hell of a good time, the enthusiasm is catchy
They called a great match. It wasn’t one sided at all.
Nice come from behind, way to guys! USA
Cherki is just levels above his age group. Unfortunately for him the French first team is stacked with young players already.
Cherki doesn't even deserved to be playing in this team!!! He is a skilled player with no IQ... Trust me, he will never be a star but just a player who could have been...
Cherki is maybe the weakest player. He plays because playmaker are now rare in France.
I’ve known about cherki since he was 15. Just expected him to be in a Madrid or United shirt by now
@@captainobvious8264 You mean Rayo Valecano and Sheffield United right?
Go USA from Argentina
Let’s go ! Never give up ! Love how our young ones never gave up ! Extremely proud of them !
Well frickin done US!
Here for Cade Cowell! CHIVAS !!!
Hopefully the mexicans wont try to retain Cade by overpricing him when a european club are interested in picking him up
I thought Chivas could only sign Mexican players
Ref gave the advantage, they missed the shot, he awarded a PK. Rule was applied incorrectly.
Really ? Can you expand on that ?
@@alexdiallo1357 I'll admit I don't know the precise rule. But I believe the INTENT of the advantage rule should be let play flow and give the attacker the opportunity to continue. But if the attacker plays on, they should have to live with the choice to shoot and MISS. Not get a second "shot on goal" by way of pk.
It was a pen and no advantage awarded. Typically the official allows the play to develop a couple of seconds. If the advantage does result then the referee is correct to bring back the ball for the spot kock. The ref correctly applied the law here.
@@ThorWildBoar Did he blow the whistle before or after the shot was taken? If the ball had gone in, would it have been disallowed because there was no advantage awarded?
I'm watching the game on mute, so I can't listen to the whiste. :)
@ybojabon4621 if the foul had occurred in the field of play you'd be correct. However it was in the box the ref allowed play on rather than make an instant rash judgement for the pen. Once ball was dead he was able to then make the proper call for a pen.
first 8 minutes the US could have been up 3, had they been slightly more clinical
either of these teams could probably have won nations league
Nice to see a US team flow Berhalter-free
i am Iranian and the biggest fan of french football
Forza America 🇺🇸
It's really great to see The united states play against a strong african nation like France
😂
African French* 😂
That’s a bit uncalled for, all those guys were born in France, speak French and are culturally French. Just because they are ethnically African doesn’t mean they are any less French. France’s general population is around 86% white/European yet these guys worked hard enough to be selected
Lebron James is African ?
wow what great racism! I'm sure that all of these french born and raised players love being reminded of how they can't actually be French and are actually African because of the colour of their skin.
Great match! Cheers to both nations and players!
exciting match.. well done USA
San Jose Earthquake fan and Bay Area native here, so glad to see one of our own pull off such a comeback!!
I am happy for the USA 🇺🇸 team very strong they never gave up good attitude on players and coach 👍👍👍
Thank you. Both sides showed skill and maturity. Great match.
US missed several chances in the beginning, but they looked ok. Hopefully a good boost for their confidence. Aiden Morris bad mistake on that giveaway in front of the box.
Les lacunes des francais se trouve plus précisement en defense
Both teams must practive shooting to target.. missed the goal so much specially the US. Great comeback USA! And what a proviledge to the U23 team to have Henry as their coach!
Cheer USA. Good match. thanks for posting.
CHERKI left and righ foot are both special special
Great game USA
These under 23s might play better than our national team. Maybe the future is brighter than Berhalter's reign.
Whoever coaches this team, needs to take Greg Berhalters job
I am very happy and excited to see the US playing in such a good way.
Gol del Vaquero 💪🤠
Good job USA!
Entertaining football from both teams. Rough around the edges, but that's to be expected with U23 squads. I wager the French fans were a bit surprised at how decent the visitors are getting at this sport.

Jaysus. We must work on finishing.
in my small town it used to be all American football, baseball, tennis, and dog parks etc. but not soccer field, than we stopped making those other sports fields and in less than 10 years we've gotten over 15 soccer fields! all spread out through out our town that i know of so far because i just found out there's 4 more that were just finished last month and more to come. they're building a soccer park right next to my neighborhood with 8 soccer fields and only soccer fields, Futbol has/is definitely getting huge in the US. i read an article that ever since Messi came to Miami that in just the black communities' interest alone in soccer has increased drastically too, i think something like 40%!
WTH was that PK?
Same. That doesn't look like a pen. Crap call.

@@prouvencau6343 Doesn't matter, advantage rule should have prevented a penalty gift.

Thierry Henry... Not happy!! Lol
I was starting to wonder when this "comeback" was coming. Very impressed with the boys and the future of USMNT... they didn't panic.
I’m American but I’m a France fan but the Americans are actually better then I thought! Good job USA!
Sux I did not watched the game but it looked entertaining. What a beautiful comeback! Too bad we didn't win but we didn't lose
I think i'm gonna watch every game in french now :D
I remember when I was in middle school, a friend of mine said the US will win the World Cup by 2030. At the time, I thought "absolutely no way in hell." Now this is just a friendly, but it is not a crazy stretch to think we could at least be in the running in a couple of year's time.
If everything comes together, and GGG gets out of the players' way, a Morocco-style run isn't out of the question, but it's tough to see a win for at least another 20-30 years, but with the growth of our youth development, it's possible in a few decades!
The US coach needs to work on eliminating slicing the bottom half of the ball to avoid skying it *way too many times.* Most of their chances were wasted.
I don't think it was a free pen like some people do but the panic plea for it after the guy misses a really good chance made me laugh. Almost like he was saying "I missed bc we should have a pen".
Who is this manager? He's clearly better than Berhalter.
so true
Marko Mitrović
I truly believe if football was the number 1 sport in the U.S. We would win damn near every World Cup. So much that we wouldn’t care for it, that we would send not our reserves but our academy players to it. And still win or have everyone fighting for their lives against them.
I respectfully disagree. I think we would have been great, but to say we would have won every single WC is a bit much. We dominate BBall but we don’t always win every Olympic or goodwill games. We are catching up to the rest of the world at a faster pace than most would have imagined just like now the rest of the world caught up to us in Basket Ball. The top best 10 players in the NBA are not Americans. Think about that for a min. I do see a WC final in our future sooner than most might think. I’m typing this as I sat in my living room in Barcelona. We moved here two years so my now 14 yr old son could be better developed. They’re quite a few Americans parents here who have done the same thing. So yes, the future is bright for us.
@@jexantusto say the top 10 nba players right now are not American is a little wild and completely not true. And yes we don’t always win every Olympics or Fiba WC in basketball. But think about it that’s b/c we send our 3rd best lineups. B/c our first choice team doesn’t want to go and would rather enjoy their summer break, b/c they already know they’d win it if they went. I say us Americans would win the WC because we have some of the most athletic and genetically gifted talents there is in this world. Even if you look across all sports. Basketball, golf, swimming, track and field, boxing, wrestling, etc. (Not every time) but more often than not we dominate. So yes I absolutely think we would win or at least come close to winning every time. Heck look at Women’s soccer, that’s the number 1 sport played in the U.S for women. And look they dominate the world more often than not.
@@jexantus well you have to understand that in basketball the US never sends its top team to the Basketball World Cup, and sometimes doesn't even send its best team to the Olympics. For example, the US sent a C team plus Durant to the 2020 Olympics and still won, and sent like a M team to the 2023 basketball World Cup.
But I do take your point about the rest of the world getting better at basketball. But you have to understand that it is top heavy. I'm pretty sure USA A team would beat a Rest of the World all stars team in a best of 7 series.
Now, in sports, especially soccer/football, ANYTHING can happen. While I agree with the gist of what the OP implied, that USA would be ridiculously good if soccer/football were ALWAYS our top sport, I agree with you that we would win "almost every World Cup." For 2 simple reasons;
One is that soccer is obviously by far the most competitive international sport, so just completely dominating would be almost impossible.
The second is that in a low scoring game like soccer, it is quite easy for better teams to lose off of moments. Heck, take Manchester City losing over 2 legs to what I would argue is a not as good Real Madrid team. And then World Cups are single elimination in knockout stages, so it's easy to have an amazing team lose off of one random moment to a good team. So even if the USA actually had the best team on paper every World Cup, we still wouldn't win every time.
My guess is if soccer/football were ALWAYS our top sport, the USA would have won about 6-8 of the 22 World Cups. More than any other nation clearly (as the 6-8 would mean that many of the nations that have won in real life would have less in that reality), but we wouldn't be winning every time.
I would guess the USA would have won 1-2 in the 1930s, 1-2 between 1950-1970, and would have won maybe 3-4 World Cups between 1930-1970, and would have won 3-4 between 1970-2022. So we would not be winning all the time and winning would still be a cause for huge celebration for us. My guess is we'd clearly be the most successful, but the gap with say Brazil would still not be that big.
I think the best approximate of what the US would look like is a mix between England and France, closer to France. Look at France between 1998-2022. I think the USA would be like that, except since 1930
@@rickshnizel4169 USA is definitely by far the most successful sports nation in the world. I think that if soccer were always our top sport, we'd have won like 6-8 of the 22 World Cups
@@jexantus also, for what it's worth, even if soccer were always USA's top sport, we'd never have a player as good as Messi, he is just a pure genius that can never be replicated. But we definitely could have players like Mbappe, Kane, even Ronaldo. My guess is we'd have all time great players at the forward, defense and goalie positions. Our relative weakness would be in midfield, and we'd still have world class midfielders, but my guess is the USA would have incredible attacking players
You can tell how much money the u23 American team gets with the lack of the names on their jerseys.
USA fully deserved the result; they were really good. what was the penalty for? I didn't see anything...

Messi, the GOAT!
He is influencing American football (soccer) for the better.
Messi hasn’t done much in MLS besides getting sidelined and eating pizza… the credit goes to the players and their determination to not lose against France.
@@IronWolf_345 Which determination, regardless of whether he eats like the rest of MLS players, Pizza or Doritos, etc., is directly or indirectly influenced by Messi, who is the definition of gift and smart determination.
It’s common knowledge worldwide, perhaps not int US so much, that all players, at a certain age, must be sidelined more often, as their role changes to be influencers and example to the new players.
MLS is glad to have Messi in their midst. It shows both in publicity, numbers, and now it has the perfect role model to learn from.
Cheers!
Nice match and this is still without Pulisic

The Americans are definitely coming. Something like real playmakers missing but they have definitely improved so much over the last 10 years.
The only things they are missing is an elite striker and CB. That's it.
We're getting up there in Football pretty quickly, Go USA🇺🇸
As someone who has been being told that "this generation of youngsters is the one that will get us over the hump" since 1994, it really hasn't felt too f***in' quick. We have had periods of great growth interspersed with periods of regression. In the end, yes. It is undeniable that the U.S. has been on an upward trajectory. But it has been measured.
The problem is that can USA beat France in the Olympic in Paris I don’t think so that will be the real challenge but well done to them 👍
What a comeback 😢
You could say I gotta use the bathroom in French and it will sound cool
So if that Cherki bloke scored before that first handball penalty was called, would the goal have been disallowed and the penalty awarded?
Sketchy call since he played on , the advantage was given and he took/missed the shot to only then have it pulled back and a penalty was awarded
