Did the Armstrong Connector to Corral last June. My brother rented a Trek bike from Over the Edge. They were great with us. Corral has an amazing bike park towards the bottom. Had a blast in Tahoe! Wife and I did the Flume Trail a few days later. Have fun riding!
I want to say two things. First, I've been thinking of making a trip up to Tahoe for a riding weekend for about a year now and wasn't sure what the trails would be like. You've definitely made up my mind and I gotta go!! Second, I've been watching since you had like 20 subs and I have to say that it looks like you've made a really large improvement in your riding skills over the time you've been posting videos. So, congrats on that and thanks for giving me something to look forward to with the ride.
Another stellar video buddy! You're always producing that awesome content! Maybe one of these days I can get out west and ride some these great trails. Ya know, mountain bike trail guiding would be a great side job for you. I'd pay to have you show me around these trails. Can't wait to see that new bike! I'm still on the fence about which drive train to get, XX1 or XTR, or maybe keep what I have a while longer and get some nice carbon wheels, idk. See ya next vid!
Thanks so much man! I definitely want to eventually do trips where I can invite people along and we go ride places like this: www.basquemtb.com/pyrenees-mountain-bike-tours-spain/ Either drivetrain will be FINE.
@Brian - some of your older videos are popping up in my feed! I truly enjoyed seeing all the NorCal terrain! It got me out on our trails! Maybe its time for some “then and now” videos! Compare some of your video shots of “then” versus “now”, recap your Strava times, talk about where you feel you have improved! Bring on the Norcal!
Rode this today! The first 2-3 miles are absolutely brutal. Steep with lots of granite ledges and boulders to climb over (or HAB it as I did). BK - How much of that stuff did you clean? I maybe cleaned 10% in the first 3 miles. The view at the summit at 9400ft is awesome. The descent was a blast, but it's so dry and loose right now in mid-Sept. Easy to wash out your front tire if not careful. Hit the jumps on Corral even though I suck at jumping haha. Good times! Thanks for the vid to get me to do this ride. It was epic.
Also checkout the TRT from Mt Rose Meadows to Flume trail (even days only for MTB). Would love to see how the flume looks on wide angle video, in person the view is jaw dropping on the Flume 1000ft above the lake. They have shuttles from tunnel creek cafe at Incline Village.
Awsome videos. Keep it up. Living in Sweden and I'm amazed by the lovely scenery (and stunning weather). Planning a trip to California next summer. Hopefully visiting Lake Tahoe then. See if i can't trick my girl in to joining me for a ride. Once again, thanks for the great videos. 👊
What's sorta funny is if you squint at the elevation profile for this ride it does not look too horrible. Then you look more closely and see that it's six miles/~1700' of climbing, all above 7000' elevation. Ooof! Thanks for sharing, keep up the inspiring videos!
Excellent Content. Great videos!! How about adding some cool time lapses of trail views?? Huh food for thought. I'm torn between 5010 and Bronson. I know Bronson would feel better DH but didn't it feel sluggish vs 5010 uphill?
Haha it made me laugh at least! But hey it sucks getting bugs in your mouth/eyes. Killer video and the trail looks sick! Would love to try it out. Quite different than what we got going here in Sweden.
Again an incredibly good and steady shooting. What do you use the settings on GoPro, I guess 1080 super view, 60 fps, that sharpness man, that sharpness ....:) try shoot from a different angle, and with gimball a little lower on the chest-mount!
dude u r osum dude!! found two super downhill trails in tahoe for this coming weekend!!! cause of ur vediosssssssssssssss thank u soooooooooooo much for the info mann!!
It helps having the gimbal auto-level while riding. I got that one too, and it's a lot easier than coming back only to have the camera pointed down too much from shifting while riding, or even during initial aiming. What resolution and framerate are you using right now, 1080p60?
Is auto-level one of the functions? It seems to get back into position after a while, but sometimes that "after a while" takes too damn long. I definitely had it pointed too low a few times during this ride, whoops. Check out the link in the description for "My gopro settings"
It basically looks for a horizontal plane to maintain and uses the base to point "straight." On one of my videos the gimbal was pointing slightly right for some annoying reason. I was going to setup a level surface and go through the gimbal initialization routine to reset it if the unit is still drifting right slightly.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I nearly pissed myself when u swallowed the bee then u said it's getting a bit harder to talk now omg so funny
I comment often and really enjoy your videos.... Have you thought of experimenting with overlaying data on your video such as gps track, speed, incline etc? I realize you edit your videos quite a bit so this may be quite a chore to do since the ride data stream from your gps is linear and your video is segmented. Just a thought though. The gps track would be the most interesting as a viewer of your videos for sure.
Thanks man! I have definitely thought about it, but I wrestle with the amount of time it would take and all that. I've heard the next GoPro will have GPS built in, so that could unlock some great things.
This June my brother and I are going to South Lake Tahoe he has never been Mountain biking we were going to do the rim loop but I don't think that would be his level. Do you know any trails that would still be fun for an advanced rider but not scare him to death. He is a state champ cross country runner so I was thinking of something around the same length as the rim trail loop.
BKXC yea your right but i think the majority of the snow should be melted. If the snow is melted I was thinking we could do the rim loop that you did but he could just walk the technical sections.
It's all good man! It's backordered and the last update said it should arrive at the shop on August 16. Then they build it and send it. Dying to get this thing.
I'm always in medium. Definitely had some spots where the camera was pointed too low. Which is funny because it's ALWAYS a danger but has worked out well so far.
Mr Toads, "I am not a fan"....Whaaaat?? Toad is the quintessential mtb trail and has everything from slow techy, to fast techy, fast flow, chundery gnar. Granted, not for the mtb naive. Your mtb skills have definitely improved, perhaps Toads was a bit above your paygrade when you last did it... think you'll have achange of opinion.
Nice man! I will have to do this next, been aimin to hit Armstrong. I uploaded a different flavor to my channel - go check it out. Low impact moto ride in Dville.
Love your videos! The Tahoe rides are fun, enjoy and be safe.

Have fun riding!
Awesome! Such a great place to ride.

Awesome, thanks so much man! You've gotta get to Tahoe, tons of fun.
Another stellar video buddy! You're always producing that awesome content! Maybe one of these days I can get out west and ride some these great trails. mate get xtr its smoother and longer lasting its amazing drivetrain
Thanks so much man! I definitely want to eventually do trips where I can invite people along and we go ride places like this: www.basquemtb.com/pyrenees-mountain-bike-tours-spain/
Either drivetrain will be FINE.
Great scenery, nice flowy trails! Thanks Brian! Love it.
Thanks Edd, this was a GREAT one.
Yes! This is a classic! Good ideas
It's four hours of grade 3-4 climbing for 25 minutes of rough decent at my locals. Scotland is all hill and very little pleasure. Nice video mate!
Hahaha, makes for hardy men! Thanks
I love this ride, it is one the funnest around Tahoe. Nice vid.
Thanks man!
Nice video again!!! Tahoe is definitely on the bucket list for riding locations. keep up the great vids.
cheers Tim
Thanks Tim! It's such a great place to ride.
Nice video. Really enjoyed the format. I've done Mr. Toads before but without a shuttle and still gotta do this one!
Thanks Boris! Plenty more videos on my channel to check out, and plenty more to come!

Hahaha it's a blur! Definitely walked a lot. So glad I got you out there!!!
Definitely! Thanks for the tip.

Thanks man! There are some easier rides in Lake Tahoe as well like the Flume Trail if she's not ready for 4 hours of suffering!
+BK-XC Maybe there's a chance for a ride video here on the channel?
Always a chance! I don't really plan stuff out too much so I can be open to any adventures.
I tried one of those honey stingers and those things are good. Thanks for turning me onto them.
They're pretty damn good. I do the whole gluten-free thing too, so it's a bonus.
What's sorta funny is if you squint at the elevation profile for this ride it does not look too horrible.

Hahaha, exactly what got me! Thanks for watching.
Another great Tahoe trail, as you can see still behind on my vids but will slowly catch up. Have all your Spain stuff to watch
Thanks man! Spain was amazing, you'll dig it!
Excellent Content. Great videos!! How about adding some cool time lapses of trail views?? Huh food for thought. I'm torn between 5010 and Bronson. I know Bronson would feel better DH but didn't it feel sluggish vs 5010 uphill?
Not a bad idea with the timelapse! The 5010 would be faster uphill, for sure, but just get the Bronson and the extra weight will make you STRONGER!
Haha it made me laugh at least! But hey it sucks getting bugs in your mouth/eyes. Killer video and the trail looks sick! Would love to try it out. Quite different than what we got going here in Sweden.
Haha, yeah it was pretty funny. It's a great trail.
Again an incredibly good and steady shooting. What do you use the settings on GoPro, I guess 1080 super view, 60 fps, that sharpness man, that sharpness ....:) try shoot from a different angle, and with gimball a little lower on the chest-mount!
Thanks man, third link in the description has my settings!
Man this looks soooooo quick!!
Haha, thanks!
Great looking ride, man. I am definitely coming down there to ride.
"Canadian bear??" hahahaha. Dude, our bears are badass.
Hahaha. The one I saw ran away pretty quick!
From 10 to 2000+ nice going....
When your test riding all these bikes are you using flats or spd pedals? Do you have to provide your own?
Thanks man! I always bring my own Shimano XT pedals along.
I like the long breaks where you can hear the bike.
Yep, I love those parts too!
the trail looks amazing! are these trails for bikes only or is it just a normal (walking-)trail?
Multi use, bikers hikers horses
dude u r osum dude!!
found two super downhill trails in tahoe for this coming weekend!!! cause of ur vediosssssssssssssss
thank u soooooooooooo much for the info mann!!
Nice! Glad I could help you out and have some fun!

have you ever considered using the wide view to show us even more of the beawty in them places btw that was another great video
Thanks man! Yes, this one was a little too zoomed in. I'll keep playing with the settings.
+BK-XC thanks man i love the videos
Another good video.
Thanks G!
Great video 👍🏻
Thanks man!
Wish we had trails like this in the uk. I got stung by two bees about 2000 meters up in the Alpujarras Spain whilst on my own. Not fun at all !!
Haha, always an adventure!
First mountain bike experience was this and it was siiiiiick
Nice!!
Could you repost the Strava link. Couldn’t get it from above. Looks like a ride
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I nearly pissed myself when u swallowed the bee then u said it's getting a bit harder to talk now omg so funny
Hahaha, that was a good one, thanks dude
Great stuff!
Hopefully I'll get to visit on December and ride with you bro! Excited to see you new bike aka the bronson Lol! 😂
Awesome! Let me know when you show up and if I'm around we'll ride!
New subscriber, lovin the content! looking forward to more trails.
Thanks man! Plenty more to come and plenty of old videos to check out!
I just checked out the Downieville video, sick area. Thanks for sharing.
Downieville is soooo sweet. I'm in Oakridge, Oregon this week and just did one of the best rides ever: www.strava.com/activities/677541217
Video to come!
Sounds good! keep shredin!
Hey bud great channel but what's the app I should download ???
It's called Trailforks. Really great!
Hey buddy do you have any videos of big bear ca trail rides?
Not yet!
I look your videos! Hope you enjoyed the Alpine today, I sure did! I did crash more than once though. 😂
Hey dude, good to meet you today! Looks like you made it out in once piece! Here's my ride from today: www.strava.com/activities/681228544/
I know some sections might be a little rough, but do you think this would be doable on a cross bike?
I wouldn't!
i've only road biked, lot of this trail i feel like i'd wipe out on, i dont know how you do with out hitting rocks at those speeds
Haha, just gotta get out there and see it for yourself. Definitely takes some time to build up the skills.
I comment often and really enjoy your videos.... Have you thought of experimenting with overlaying data on your video such as gps track, speed, incline etc? Yeah it'd be a tough one. Not sure what will be available to ride because the snow will still be around!
BKXC yea your right but i think the majority of the snow should be melted. If the snow is melted I was thinking we could do the rim loop that you did but he could just walk the technical sections.
Are you sure you ordered a new bike? every video I keep expecting it to appear
I know, what a pain in the ass!
Dont mean to be a pain in the ass but whats the story with the new ride, when are you suppose to be getting it we're all waiting ?
It's all good man! It's backordered and the last update said it should arrive at the shop on August 16. Then they build it and send it. Dying to get this thing.
the bee sting tongue joke funny keep it up
Haha thanks man
Soooooo....i gotta ask Brian. Was that a heeeyyyy to the girl or the dog? lol
All of the above!
baha classic!
Hello Brian, when is the best month to ride Tahoe Rim trail?
It always depends on the snow, which should be gone by July. From then it's solid until late September, depending on the snow.
thx man, much appreciated. keep the videos coming.
Thanks for watching!!
Did you do this vid in Medium or Narrow FOV? Seems different...
Another thing maybe angle camera up a little (or level) for climbs and then do the slightly down for the descents!
I'm always in medium. Definitely had some spots where the camera was pointed too low. Which is funny because it's ALWAYS a danger but has worked out well so far.
What shuttle did you take?
From Over the Edge Tahoe
No pedal strike today man?
Haha, plenty of pedal strikes, this was the same ride as the Trek Fuel EX 9.8.
What is your strava???
Check out the trail guide link in the description and you can get to it from there!
alright, thanks. Keep up the great work.
👍😄
:D
Funny that. My names Luther 😂👌🏻
Nice!
11:07 thanks now I have water all over my monitor..
Hahaha, my pleasure!

You're 100% right dude. I did it again a couple weeks ago and it was so amazing. My gimbal was screwed up so I didn't get footage.
Sweet! I was pretty sure you'd find an appreciation for Toads if you hit it again...so glad you did.
👍🏻🤘🏼🤘🏼🙏💥💥☝🏻️😊
:D
😁😅 pain & pleasure 😇🤑 ✌️👍🏼🚴🏾
:D
Careful what you wish for as far as bears go!!!
Hahaha yeah!
Canadian bears are sensitive and apologetic, don't say that to therm! :P
Haha, as long as they don't watch my videos they'll be OK!
Nice man! I will have to do this next, been aimin to hit Armstrong. I uploaded a different flavor to my channel - go check it out. Low impact moto ride in Dville.
Thanks! It's a fun one. Oh nice, pretty sweet to be able to mix in some fire road stuff on the motorcycle without committing to full moto craziness!
+BK-XC thanks! Very amateur quality but its all for fun.
I think I wet my pants a bit @11:09
Get a Ebike makes it more fun
