Man, that was FULL FLAPS coming in hot and needing to get down quick early on in the final
at 02:16:04, some flaps were retracted. Perhaps the early gear extension and those full flaps initially, did the trick.
Typically, you can land with flaps 25, flaps 30, or flaps 40 on a 737. Flaps 25 and 30 are used for long runways if you want to use up more runway to reduce taxi-time or fly at a faster speed to prevent the plane behind you from having to go around.
Nice video!
Exelente Mais um Belo Vídeo
Why do you not do San Antonio aaaaaaaall the time??
I mean, I posted a San Antonio video yesterday.
I mean like Chicago to San Antonio full flight
just started todays flight. the airport is gorgous and it was real nice too see the passengers too. the leg room seemed quite decent as did the drinks selection. i think i'll have a coke for todays flight. ook back to the flight. everyone have an epic Saturday. remember to stay safe and see ya in the skies!!
here's a flight suggestion for the future SLC-BNA on Southwest
Great fly ass always live to see the 7H4!!
Ass?
Just one s. This must be a weird autocorrect.
I love that your channel regularly features Tulsa, an airport from my unaccompanied minor days going to see mom in the late 90’s. I actually departed TUL at about 6am on 1/1/00, the day technology was supposed to quit working 😂. Y2K 🎉
Tulsa, is one of my home airports, and my most flown out of local airport. I live up near Joplin, so it's easy for me to hop on I44 with my Pike Pass and in an hour or so I'm at the airport in Tulsa. I'm glad you enjoy the Tulsa content and it can bring back all those memories of you! Thanks for watching!
Looking forward to watching this one when I have time this afternoon.
You published many videos yesterday--was that deliberate?
It could be that the scheduled video that he uploaded was bugged out or something.
I was just cleaning house, so to speak. I literally have a year's worth of footage uploaded and just sitting in the "unlisted" void of UA-cam. With the exception of the 10:00am and 2:00pm uploads, I felt like the other eight videos were... Not worthy of a regular upload slot. I get asked a lot if there's ever footage I don't post and in reality there is a lot. The problem was that I just kept pushing those video back and back and back. And in reality, I was never going to upload most of those, unless I uploaded them as a group or as "extras." Nothing to worry about. The upload schedule is back to normal today. Thanks for watching!
Flew southwest a couple weeks ago from Midway to Dulles and the 737-700 banked to its right when landing and we landed on the right side of the plane. The wing didnt touch the ground though and the landing was HARDDD
Sounds like my kind of landing haha. Those always do well on the channel.
It's supposed to be 115°F here in Las Vegas today and Sunday. I think the jets have to be careful if they're coming in from the east there's grass and trees with cooler air but the moment they're over the runway that's been baking in the sun all day suddenly they don't have any lift. I recall a video of a BA jet on final and it had a pretty hard landing.
Been there done that. 737-700 into Las Vegas @ 114° for runway 25R. Woot. What a ride!
@@boeing737d How do you mean? Do you mean what I said about a runway that's been baking in the sun all day?
@@austindarrenor Yep. Runway is so hot that the air suddenly thinned out and I feel the plane drops a bit before little hard on the landing.
@@boeing737d It's 26L and 26R now.
@@frankgrimesification ohhh i forgot that shift.. my bad
this aircraft looks like a 737-800, is it just a different model of the 700? i flew this same aircraft yesterday and was curious about this question
Just a 737-700, it's much shorter than length than the 737-800 so you can easily tell the difference.
@@kingdivo9210 oh okay thank you, because the 800 has a similar wingtip.
Did the pilot extend the flaps to 40 degrees and then retract to 30 degrees just before landing? Unusual...
How tf would i know?
May have been above glide slope and needed to descend quickly but maintain approach speed
Not unheard of, as long as they were reconfigured to F30 and stabilized prior to 1000AGL. (Assuming they planned F30 and that's what their data was for) More of an "Old school" technique but you see it on the line occasionally.
Flap retraction on final is super rare, but sometimes, it is used to slow down faster to a certain vref.
Of course Vegas would have a casino in their airport… 😂
😂 it basically a giant casino with some gates.
Yep, that's Las Vegas for you. They get you coming and going. The whole city is designed to get as much money from you as possible. Anyhow, good views. Looks like you flew by the Osage Tribal Land. That's where The Pioneer Woman's Ranch is.
Well, you didn't need that money anyway 😆🤣😂
That is how gambling works.
@@SYDAirlineEnthusiast Yeah....There's a sucker born every minute.
Is this today ?
This was not today, no. This was filmed a couple months ago.
Today is always today.
11 videos in 2 days? Behind in posting?
I've been behind in posting for 8 years haha 😂. The majority of the videos I posted on Friday were videos I didn't feel were worth utilizing a full upload slot for. So, instead of just never posting them, I blasted them all out in one day haha.
Even in the airport they have gambling machines?
Oh yeah. In fact, the Las Vegas airport is basically a giant casino with some boarding gates 😂
And even in the Car Rental Facility, which is a couple miles from the airport.
There are slots in most gas stations, bars, and supermarkets, too.
First
Thanks for watching my friend!
I was first was i?
