This stuff always makes me thing that Oda doesn't just plan every arc he will begin, but plans how to tie that arc directly with the final arc in case for whatever reason the Shonen Jump gives him a deadline so the story in any case will receive a proper end
I like to think when planning arcs he would ask himself "What would Luffy Do?" And knowing his own characters well he'd know Luffy wouldn't pass up Elbaph and so Oda is like "OK you heard the man, let's make and Elbaph arc"
@@ReiseLukas That's generally how great authors operate, they're discovering the story as they're writing it, being led along by the characters and the world.

Not really. By that logic they should never have stopped at any island whatsoever except Elbaph since Usopp gets the "can't go to the island disease" each and every time a new one is on the horizon.
I really love the idea that Oda is blaming Luffy for going to Elbaph, as much as Oda is the story teller, Luffy has basically broken the 4th wall and told Oda that Elbaph MUST happen😂
I've been thinking for a while now that there's no way we are on the last arc with everything that still needs to happen and the plans being revised might suggest it won't be over anytime soon!
I love to know this, Elbaph was already making me feel that OP nostalgia. With the og crew, the adventurous feeling, etc. And now that I know it wasn't even planned, it triples that feeling. I loved Egghead, I've been loving everything new, but it has made me feel exhausted lore-wise. I feel like we needed a break from all the end of the road vibe, and to go back to the goofy pirate adventure we love. I have no doubt Oda will masterfully tie Elbaph together with everything else and once OP is done, people will go back to it and admire its foreshadowing and great writing, but I am all for an "improvised" arc full of adventure.
Loki may have been like the previously illustrated image of him but his DF changed him. Could be a good way to dive into what the DF's are and how they have personalities.
I think "that guy vs that guy" was oda saying there was gonna be a lot of fights going on (black beard pirates vs garp and kobys group on hachinosu, and sabo vs imu and the elders on mariejois, black beard vs law on winners island, and shanks vs kidd on elbaf)
Well that guy and that guy could be so many things. Luffy against the Gorosei to free Vegapunk from his government slavery. Marines against BB to free luffy's wife. Garp versus BB crew and his old pupil to free his new pupil. There is a lot of that guy vs that guy in one piece recently and just before Elbaph.
As far as the "plot hole" you're talking about I feel like that can be explained away. They wanted a "glimpse" probably just to see their boys for old times sake and a bit of nostalgia the don't have to go up and shake their hands they couldve popped by said "oh they are alive, nothing to worry about." The weapons can be explained as they didn't bother bringing extra and either didn't wanna give up their own or doggy and broggy didn't want outside interference AGAIN. You said their cover story shows them departing for the elbaph which is the hardest to argue with but I suppose the did it off screen? Enies lobby to sabaody is awhile after all

I believe that the silhuetts are Luffys imagination of how he thinks the character looks after they are described with words, hence the goofy and easy looking people since he can’t bother to listen to a story for too long
The issue with that is that most silhuettes revealed have absolute zero connection to Luffy. Take the Loki silhuette for example; That was Chiffon telling Nami a story in the bath. No Luffy.
The last island before endgame. Of course Oda couldn’t resist bringing Usopp to Elbaph I think he knew it his heart of hearts that there’s a good reason to at least head to elbaph, even for a little bit
Is Elbaph before Lodestar? I doubt it because the locations of the 4 road poneglyphs might have been decided a while ago, we'll probably go 3yrs for Elbaph, then the place with the 4th poneglyph which might be another 3-4yrs maybe 2yrs for Lodestar, then maybe a war or something else and the final arc would be Laugh Tale.
"There was never a free for all fight" Liam forgetting the God Valley flashback, which indeed was a free for all. Sure we didn't get an entire fistikuffs scene playing out but it did very much happen. "That guy and that guy" was most likely Rocks and Roger. And I think Oda made a big mistake in not taking the opportunity to make Elbaph an even more unique arc by breaking the structure pattern and actually have no antagonist at all. It could have been centred around vibing around, getting stronger and finding out more about stuff like the Nika mythos and other stuff this ancient civilization might offer. The fandom often expresses how disappointed they are with the lack of "crew just having fun", and this could have been Oda's last and only chance to make an entire arc with that vibe. Everyone on the island should already love the Straw Hats after all, both OG and New Giant Pirates, everyone worshipping Nika and so on. To actually have an antagonist is what feels off here. It could have been an arc made for the crew to actually learn new stuff, not just "next guy to punch".
I think that every giant that smile got the smile from the 1st Sun God Nika engraved from a memory of great story portrait somewhere in Elbaph , something like child bedtime story told 3 generation beforehand. It's strikingly similar the shape of the smile now Luffy have. And all the events like Imu and the giant straw hat, the legend of S.G.Nika in giants history , all the false Gods of the Sun ... End it up tied to the that reasoning.

I never heard the theory that Whole Cake Island and the Germa Kingdom were going to have their own arcs, but that theory actually makes a lot of sense. I love Whole Cake Island, but the way that Sanji's family starts helping him is a little too sudden, and a story beat was missing.
I’ve always been in the camp that after Wano it wouldn’t be the next island just because EVERYONE else acted like they just knew it would be next. Thank you Egghead
I'd like to think that the silhouettes at this point are the characters in the story picturing them in their heads as much as we are, explaining the discrepancy.
Oda gives us estimates based on what he thinks the current natural flow of the story is at the time of his statements, but Oda knows this story writes itself at this point, so naturally we go to Elbaph... Followed by: Man marked with flames with the last Poneglyph Laugh Tale (Shanks, Luffy, Black Beard and Buggy brawl to be Pirate King) Destruction of the redline/ government (Revolutionary Army/ Destiny/ All blue/ Laboon) Epilogue "Freedom" All while finding out about the void centaury, these arcs could also mix match
The two enies lobby guants could have made a detour before going to little Garden, to prepare themselfs, or when they got there they just watched dory and broggy fight for a time before they all leave the island
3:01 take this in writing that onepiece manga atleast 9 Years and onepiece anime 11-12 years now since we had a anime break i think we definitely will have 3 more two manga breaks and one more anime after these breaks anime will be concluded
Sounds to me that we have roughly 2-3 years afrer elbaph remaining if following original scedule. So 2030 as final date seems to be pretty realistic imho (and i called 2030 even 8 years ago, just for the record)
People keep talking about how Loki would kick off Ragnarok.. Considering that Elbaph is called "Warland" I think that already happened some time ago and it's just a matter of someone strong enough like Luffy showing up to put an end to it.
Finishing One Piece without Elbaf would feel like a huge hole in my heart. It's like if we skipped Wano. You can't go over a named island with so many things revolving around it, it wouldn't feel right.
I don't get why Loki's original silhouette is the thing that's always mentioned. I kinda feel like he may have looked like that but there are years of story we're missing. Maybe after getting turned down by Lola he went hard on the steroids. Maybe he wasn't always planning on killing his dad and stealing his fruit, we'll learn with time
I always assuked Elbaf would have been where Ussopp went after the series and I didnt think all the sgraw hats would go. At most I thought it would be short like Zou or Jaya
I think your misunderstanding. Imagine having a massive idea for a story but the publishing house you went to, returns the book to you and says "cut it down to 300 pages or less" Yes the story has obviously grown since its initial inception but its different than artificial extension and more like oda has so much he wants to tell that he shortened a lot of it. Elba was just one of those ideas that he wasn't going to flesh out until the story itself demanded it. And yes the story needs Elbaf. So much has been leading to it.
Gru and ussop are brothers I have a theory. Gru and ussop both have pointy noses haha joke isn't the only thing here, gru leads 100s of 100s of minions AND THEN u also realize so does ussop. Coincidence? I THINK NOT
I mean I'm sure Oda was aware of how he originaly designed Loki and I don't think it makes too little sense. Firstly, the silhouette of Loki we saw was from back when he was a child so he had all the time to change. Secondly, i think Lola's rejection played a big part in his "villain origin story". Also I'm not so sure Loki's gonna end up being the main villain, i feel like it's too early of a reveal and he'll turn out to be a misunderstood heartbroken antivillain? Well whatever he is, I trust Oda's gonna keep on cooking.
Elbaf wasn't meant to happen, but then Usopp said he would go there. 👃

Destruction of the redline/ government (Revolutionary Army/ Destiny/ All blue/ Laboon)
Epilogue "Freedom"
All while finding out about the void centaury, these arcs could also mix match
The two enies lobby guants could have made a detour before going to little Garden, to prepare themselfs, or when they got there they just watched dory and broggy fight for a time before they all leave the island
Good Video 👍🏼
We're being fed with content today, let's go
Keep cooking man of the internet
Gear 5 Luffy vs Prince Loki with his royal family's Devil Fruit power is gonna be pure unadulterated awesomeness.
retconning cover stories is much easier and less troublesome than whole arcs. God the world needs OP right now…
Hopefully someone knows how to end this series in the case of emergencies
3:01 take this in writing that onepiece manga atleast 9 Years and onepiece anime 11-12 years now since we had a anime break i think we definitely will have 3 more two manga breaks and one more anime after these breaks anime will be concluded
Sounds to me that we have roughly 2-3 years afrer elbaph remaining if following original scedule.
So 2030 as final date seems to be pretty realistic imho (and i called 2030 even 8 years ago, just for the record)
Jesus, this is appreciated after the US election. Thank you Liam and the Grand Line Fleet
I don't get it... We won, everything is going to be okay
Personally, I think its very odd they didn't plan for Elbaf when it was practically set up nearly 2 decades ago.
Honestly I'm pretty sure everything that nothing but Laugh Tale was ever a set in stone location to visit.
10:47 Is it just me or did he just say 'Elbarc' instead of 'Elbaph'😅😅
My favourite arc is Elbark, also Thriller Baph
Maybe prince loki just had a glow up to destroy the world after the marriage fell through
But, couldn't this be Oda just chanelling his inner Usopp and lying through his teeth :')
People keep talking about how Loki would kick off Ragnarok.. Considering that Elbaph is called "Warland" I think that already happened some time ago and it's just a matter of someone strong enough like Luffy showing up to put an end to it.
New theory! After getting rejected by Lola, Loki worked out nonstop to try and win her back.
Its shocking to me that Oda was considering skipping Elbaf because it has been set up for so long and it always seemed Usopp would go there.
Finishing One Piece without Elbaf would feel like a huge hole in my heart. It's like if we skipped Wano. You can't go over a named island with so many things revolving around it, it wouldn't feel right.
Indeed.
The fact that we all know that one piece will end with a war arc still baffles me
I don't get why Loki's original silhouette is the thing that's always mentioned.
And some people think One Piece isn't being needlessly extended... It's been over 20 YEARS!!!
I think your misunderstanding.
Imagine having a massive idea for a story but the publishing house you went to, returns the book to you and says "cut it down to 300 pages or less"
Yes the story has obviously grown since its initial inception but its different than artificial extension and more like oda has so much he wants to tell that he shortened a lot of it.
I THINK NOT
If Oda had a game plan in mind that excluded Elbaf, I wonder what the plan with Ussopp is then. We all assumed that’s where Ussopp’s dream comes true
Oh no, not the katakuri treatment, why that's one of the best written and fan favorite characters in the whole series
10 Years left...Im a very much now worrying about Oda staying healthy. Even with the current schedule.
How you tell stories is unmatched!
