      Personally I don’t think there underrated at all, I’ve a few of there logos on my bait boxes and I’ve not come across an angler who doesn’t know of there work or have anything but good things to say about them. But I get what your saying 👍🏼

    Well as these little beauties were probably the ancestors of some carp that the Romans brought over then perhaps you should have dressed the part. As Centurions! :-) Loved the location and the filming, considering how hard it was, you did well - well one of you did..........

    Those fish in there will do anything to survive, which often involves shaking the hook free. They manage to survive extreme temperatures and all manner of predation, so don't be upset at losing that fish Carl. They're so attuned to survival!! A good tip is to fish to your right/left never in front of you, because it's so shallow they can see you and it puts them off taking your bait. I'm still learning after 35 years of fishing there. Great video Guys, loved it.

      @@adamroots3429 There are chub, they were put in by the local Anglers to keep the carp numbers down a bit. There are also signal crays in there, probably got in with the chub.

    I’m gutted for Carl but no doubt he will catch one upon their return with his determination. I’ve been blanking recently and when I see you guys go without for a few sessions, it makes me feel a lot better. I’m still yet to catch that beast of the lake.     If I recall correctly, carp were believed to be introduced to Britain by German monks in the 13th/14th century as an alternate food source.
    That was some lovely scenery lads. You always take me to the best places!

    A Fly Rod and a dog biscuit is what you need boys. Fished my first carp there in 1986. Brings back good times.

    Must be 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 I guess? Probably introduced by monks in the Middle Ages, if not in this lake then probably some others not far away ( I’m still down with the “ spreading eggs via birds feet “ theory 👍) well done.

    Guys, just imagine! Almost all our carpfishing places are like this lake. I'm not about mountain, but about "very hard to catch".
    But, we've found some trick on how to catch those wild carps.)
    P.S.: I'm from southern part of Ukraine.

    Blanking is the worst. I did a boxing day match on a canal. Up at dawn. Walk out in order from the draw, pick your spot. Freezing cold of course. Three people caught that day after five hours. One was a seven once minnow, the next was two gudgeon and the winner 14lbs of bream two pegs down. TWO PEGS DOWN! I still feel the pain!

      @@danielgriffiths4687 No doubt they'd get permission, I doubt that lake is ever fished, they do get that advantage, I hate carp fishing now, pulling out battered mouthed fish from lakes fished 24/7 where the carp have no chance is not appealing at all...

    I grew up catching only wild spawned exotics and native fish in Africa, to catch carp in the farm reservoirs (we call dams), using natural baits was always the best option - beetle grubs, dead bait fish and earthworms, cast out the baits, then just wait for them to move back into the swim. Club waters and national parks, the favoured bait was/is cooked maize paste with whatever flavouring each angler considered the best.

    Another great video!I've fished that lake many times and you've captured its beauty and atmosphere perfectly. And yes it can be a tricky place to catch from, especially on such a bright and still day but the carp are stunning.

    I know you love Carp in the uk but here in Australia they classed as a massive pest but I still enjoy fly fishing for them, I live in town that’s 870 meters above sea level and we catch them on the fly they fight ridiculous well and are good practice for the spooky trout.

    I would love to see you guys fish the house pond at Stone end farm fisheries in Gloucester it’s amazing I recommend the swim under then willow tree take also take a quiver tip probably the best rod to use at the lake since the carp aren’t very big up to 12lb but you can catch around 50 fish a day I’ve been a couple times and the least amount of fish I’ve caught was 30 it’s just such good fun and the fish there are beautiful.

    Next time try putting a bobber on with corn or a dough ball. Our carp looks just like that. Indiana doesn't mess with breeding carp and stocking them.

    We catch this species of carp all over Turkey. Thats pretty common here. Fin on belly, mustache near mouth...

    very few inland lakes are natural - carp were are actually river fish thus the big fins - powerful rivers no problem.
