That must really be tough, carrying a child to term knowing fully well it wouldn't survive more than a few minutes after being born. What condition--if that actually is such a thing--is that?
From what I gathered, Chas and Paddy found out early on in her pregnancy that the baby wouldn't live very long after its born. Don't know what particular condition the infant has though, why that is/was the case.

She does not have any kidneys and as such her body cannot live outside the womb :(
