      TheOtherWhiteBread0 Here in Michigan 5grand is a lot to spend on a dock. A lot of the docks are pre made modular sections that are removed every fall because otherwise they would be ripped apart and sent downstream when the ice breaks up or during spring flooding. This isn't Florida. Aluminum docks with wheels are popular on wixom. Easy in, easy out. Same with boat lifts.

      @Donald Kasper that's not how dams work, the lake would be deeper, yes, but its normal level would be at the same spot the shallow version had, meaning - increase inflow would still make it run over the dam, they need to increase the bank height (and/or more flood area) if you want more capacity to handle more than usual inflow

      17 He casts forth His ice as fragments;

      The problem of the day is the world gives glory to everything else...and has forsaken God...His word says this of those and the nations who have forsaken God.
      Psalm 9:17 The wicked will return to hell, Even all the nations who forget God.

    Wixom Lake is a reservoir in the U.S. state of Michigan.[1] It is named after Frank Wixom, who was instrumental in building the Edenville Dam.[2] Unusually for its size, Wixom Lake boasts a lighthouse.[3] Since 2019, it has been owned by the Four Lakes Task Force,[4][5] a "county-delegated authority", under the State of Michigan.[6] Since 2018, the impoundment is regulated by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).[7]
    The lake typically has a surface area of 1,980 acres (8.0 km2), a shoreline of more than 84 miles (135 km), a maximum capacity of 66,200 acre feet (81,700,000 m3), a normal capacity of 36,000 acre feet (44,000,000 m3),[8] and a maximum depth of 40 feet (12 m).[1]
    Normal Elevation, in feet, of Tittabawassee River reservoirs
    Lake Name Summer Winter
    Secord 750.8 747.8
    Smallwood 704.8 701.8
    Wixom 675.8 672.8
    Sanford 630.8 627.8
    Wixom Lake is the third in a series of four reservoirs along the Tittabawassee River. Each is controlled to a lower elevation during the winter flood control season and a higher elevation during the summer recreation season.[9]
    In May 2020, due to flooding on the Tittabawassee River, the Edenville Dam failed, releasing much of the water and requiring evacuations downstream. Governor Gretchen Whitmer declared a state of emergency.[10]

    I have an idea! Bulldoze that former lake bed (optional), seed it with grass, dig 18 small holes, put 1 flag to each hole and *BAM* you have a golf course for almost free and very little effort provided by nature :)

    • @smac919
      @smac919 4 роки тому

      lamebubblesflysohigh ...... the lake would have to be man made, which it probably isn’t, eventually, that golf course would flood, lakes form again over time, especially up near the Great Lakes, their river systems are insane. Gotta remember some of them are large enough to where you can’t see land on the other side at all and have waves.
