I have read it was more of a alcohol issue until around the album 10 but then again, who cares anymore. Roll on December. I love the look on Graeme Duffins face when MP shouts at the beginning "don't ruin the bloody song!". It's actually still a good version, always loved the melodies in this song.
I agree with everything you have said, Ben - I don't think there was anything too dodgy going on at this time and anything that was going on makes for a great version of this song. :)

Was this recorded during the time of Marti's addiction to heroin? If it was he still had the amazing voice, some musical talent made it thru to the other side of drug abuse, sadly some didn't. I feel sure if Marti Pellow reflects on his actions back then, he must thank his lucky stars he finally got his head on straight. Bravo,Wet Wet Wet, you have done Clydebank and the Glasgow area proud.
I think he was beyond tipsy at this point in the show - he seems pretty wasted. The vocal is unusually shaky in parts. Graeme D looks slightly alarmed at the beginning when he screams. Saying that, the end is hilarious!
@@vc5183 I'm no expert but I am a pretty good singer so I think I would do a decent job. Shame you'll never hear it. For the record, I think he's usually an amazing singer at this point, I'm a fan. That's why this performance seems so glaringly off in comparison to lots of the other live performances on UA-cam. Thanks for your hugely insightful comment though!
