You need a better tune bud
Yupppp!!!!
4k stall isnt "big" for a ls car...and you need a better tune. The stalling isnt caused from the stall converter
Rudde67ss m I will probably stick with my 3200 stall. Needs a new tune for sure! Thanks for watching!
😂😂👆
car sounds really good keep up the good work
Love the Wheels on your T/A
Man it must suck dealing with that weather! Cheers from Florida!
fbanda20 😂 yeah it gets cold! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
You could solve the stall issue by using a power steering pressure value in conjunction with an RPM idle offset logic function. Only active below 1000rpm etc.
Thanks for the idle shot.
That’s the need for a better tune causing it to stall...
Just picked up an 02 Camaro SS, 3200 stall, summit stage 2 cam, etc. I’m running into the same problems as you, likes to stall out when I’m under 5mph. Tune is what I’m banking on it being but the fuel pump is getting louder everyday. Other than that, it’s been a smooth adjustment from my lil civic before this lol. Beautiful car btw:)
Enjoy it! Should be a fun car!
Did the tune fix it? I'm having the same problems....
Ahhha love the stalling
Haha, some times its a gamble! It makes it interesting for sure! Thanks for watching! I will be making more videos soon, feel free to subscribe!
Have you thought of just slightly increasing the idle speed?
the problem you had trying to restart the car acts like a fuel pump is trying to go bad. Electric f pumps can go out all at once or they can act up (hard starts, spit and sputter etc) then drive perfectly. The best thing to do at any sign of a bad pump is to put a fuel gauge and check it with ignition on, engine off and then check at idle to see if within specs. Another thing most don't know is the fact you should never run your gas tank below 1/4 of a tank. The gas actually cools the pump, if the tank get to low on fuel there is not enough to keep it cool. Overheating the pump is what makes the pumps go out faster.
The Stall isnt the reason its dying out. U need to get the tune figured out. I had a cammed stalled t/a for a while and it never shut off on me like thay.
nice ride bro
Thanks! Its a work in progress for sure!
What cam and stall are u running,? I’m running a 243/250 and 3600 stall and drives great ,
This is one of the reasons I'm torn between going H/C/I or SC on my LS7. If I go cammed, it would have to be pretty mild to keep it to the level of streetability I want. Probably will just go SC - more of a Jekyll and Hyde scenario, normal around town and flat out nuts when you put your foot in it.
Kevin Davis Supercharger would be a great route also! Sometimes I wish I would have just bought a procharger instead. Can’t turn back now! Thanks for watching!
I'm hoping ill be able to find one of these with the 6 speed manual. If not an automatic will do
505 enthusiast there is a few for sale on ls1 tech
Nice car man! I also have a HCI Trans Am. Pretty fun car. You should get your tune checked out though! It shouldn’t stall at all. I have some videos of my build
Zach Peterson I will check them out! Yeah I am pretty disappointed with it. I have to find another tuner but being in North Central Montana I am looking at 7-10 hour drive one way to find anyone!
The Okayest Guy yeah I could see how that would be an issue haha. Maybe a mail order tune? I’m lucky enough to have 3 really good tuners within 10 miles of me
Zach Peterson that’s awesome man! I have thought about getting a mail order from frost. Just to see how it does.
@@theokayestguy9167 go with black bear do the auto cal
I’m going to buy a camaro with a 2001 Camaro 5.3 ls, Texas Speed Torquer V4 Cam, 102mm TB, Long Tubes, 4L60 w/ 3000 Yank Stall , 3.73 Gears. Hopefully it’s an ok daily
Your converter is not causing the engine to stall. If it is, it has issues. That is a tune issue.
ive driven cammed stalled cars daily for years never had a stall issue bring it back to your tuner.
What is ur gas mileage I get 14mpg and I got a few mods Custom grind Cam
Dart Heads
ported TB,
Ported Intake
Cold air intake
full Borla exhout (headers, catback,Xpipe)
true daul tips
Wesley Martin I honestly don’t keep track (don’t want to know how bad it is 😂)
Bigger stall & sticky tires. Toyo r888R 1.5/1.6 60ft and or or 3:90's/4.10's and 28'' hosier Dr2's 1.4/1.3 60ft.
andrew paul I might be getting some 4.10s very soon!
stock trans 4l60e?
A 4,000 stall is not too big. I have a 2000 Camaro SS, had a Vig 3600, which is really like a 4300 stall. Felt normal after awhile. Now have a Yank SS 4000 in a 4L80E. Car slowed down because I don't have any horsepower to drive this trans and my 9" rear. I don't even have headers, that's how stock my engine is. HCI, and headers should allow all the drivetrain mods to work together. If your gonna boost or spray big, stay with the 3,200 stall. If your gonna do a small/medium 50-100/150 max shot a 4,000 stall will be good. I did notice the Yank is more efficient higher up and with the 4L80E it tries to knock the car sideways on the 1st to 2nd shift on drag radials at the track. Have my trans set to shift pretty hard WOT. Hits like The Hammer of Thor, full throttle. Too bad I'm only making like 296 rwhp because of my pretty much stock engine. Plan on fixing that problem next year hopefully.
Just raising the idle a hundred or 2 rpm would cure that.
Nice TA 🤌👍
What stall should I get for street & strip? Because I have a 4 speed auto & im a daily driver
Either yank, vig or circle d check all those out is it cammed? Or
I've daily'd a 6000 stall before. Nothing to it. I currently run a 5500 since I'm a 416 now.
Bet my old 1997 Buick would smoke ya! (If you just watch the speedometer, she jumps around a bit) 😂😂
Lets line them up! Haha
So what does the stall converter do exactly?
Another term is torque converter. It is in automatic transmissions that acts almost like a clutch in allowing you to stop and have the vehicle running. Here is a great video that breaks it down really well- ua-cam.com/video/j5JFMs8gdbs/v-deo.html
The Okayest Guy cool, thanks, looking for an ls1 this fall, and subscribed
505 enthusiast Thanks! They are awesome! Feel free to hit me up if you have anymore questions! Good luck on your search.
505 enthusiast there is a few on ls1 tech and already have mods might save some money buying a built one rather then building one
That stalling is caused by your tune not the converter
Yeah I need a tune for sure!
So it only has cam & stall?
My bad just read the description lol
I run a yank ss 4000 and a cam , it's all in the tune !
Your tune is bad if you are stalling like that. Stall should keep it from stalling at idle.
What’s the “stalled” part?
Great question. On automatics they have a stall converter or technology referred to as a torque converter. A torque converter consists of three major internal components: the pump, turbine, and stator, as well as transmission fluid. The housing of the converter is bolted to the engine's flywheel, and the fins of the pump are attached to the housing. This is a centrifugal pump, throwing fluid outward as it spins. This creates a vacuum that draws more fluid in at the center. The fluid then enters the turbine, which is connected to the transmission via the output shaft, so the trans starts to move the vehicle when the turbine starts to spin.
Montana is a big state? You obviously have never been to texas.
A 4 hour drive across the state to get your car tuned is nothing
I hate lining up against rails on test and tune nights, so discouraging. And the comment gallery is correct, it's in the tune.
A yank 3200 ?? Dam man that’s to little I have a 3600 SS and it yanks hard !! There expensive should of gone with a 3600 or 4K stall
LSX BIRD Looking back now I wish I would have got a bigger one. Now on to gears!
How do you only get 2.1 60ft's with a stall? Spinning?
andrew paul You got it. Spin city. The intro video was me at the track and I spun almost the entire 1/8th.
@@theokayestguy9167 if you can't put the power to the ground and all you do is spin the tires you will wind up losing races to a car with less power that can actually put the power to the pavement without spinning. A problem alot of guys do is making their cars faster and don't beef up their brakes and wind up crashing
I’m sorry but that is not a “fairly mild cam” on a stock cube LS1🤣
Its not a big cam by any means. It's smaller than like the MS3 and other popular cams.
That's why manual cammed cars are better. Can control the rpms with slow turns. Will just result in more clutch slip.
It’s not tuned properly mine was worse the first guy that tuned it had it messed up took it to Frost Tuning in Virginia it never stalls now a built 427 /4500 stall converter engine by Jensen Engine Technology and a bigger cam than your running 650 hp it rips
Stalling is do to tune bud
what did u make to the ground
I am at 430 rwhp. Thanks for watching!
4L60E
That’s a big ass cam lol
It’s actually not that big of a cam. The LSA makes it sound more aggressive than it is.
You never supposed to turn left or right to its full capacity in any car my friend where we from we call it crying because you can hear power steering pump crying at its full capacity that's bad not saying that's why it's turning off you need a tune like everyone else a well a better one anyway
It's called "Stall" for a reason....lol
Lmaoo shit tune
