I must say that Sunday is really a masterpiece. Schrauwen always baffles me with his unique mix of dialogues, storytelling and drawing. Everything is immediate, fluid, yet complex. Thibault is like a mirror or at least fragments of it, he surely makes you look at yourself and think "i'm not that different from him in that aspect". He is an uncomfortable character that makes you relate with him. He even says it at the end of book 7. Pure genius.

Watching your videos makes me feel like a common tourist😅In the city of comics I walk the streets labelled as safe choice and rated 5 stars by some one I dont really know but trust because it was on trip advisor. You my friend walk also the side alleys and sip wine in the same bars as locals do - away from the masses. Thanks for showing these streets. All new to me.

given the shipping and the "immodest" prices of colorama I would definitely recommend to start with one or at least just a few of the anthologies... because they differ considerably in terms of content and design. you won't regret to have all the sundays though... they are special and quite excellent throughout.

great stuff as always. Fantastic to be able to see inside that SUNDAY series, Domino Books had the set for sale recently but I just didn't have enough cold hard cash to spring for it. Needless to say it sold out pretty quick.
I like these books, but hate how they are made in such small quantities. They always sell out, but they don't print more. It's like they only want the cool kids to have them. The Tawaraya books sell for $150 each on ebay and I just saw a set of the Sunday books sell for $120. This happens with a lot of these kinds of books, so much so that it feels elitist to me.
with the quality of storytelling, the work and love etc that Schrauwen has put into these books I'm almost certain that there will be a second edition by some other publisher in the near future. Maybe all in one, certainly not risographed then but with a much higher printrun.
Probably there's a deal with Fantagraphics before long which has published already a tome with his comics. But don't quote me on that, just speculating.
btw, Mr.Forgerelli (or T if you change your mind... pretty funny actually, since the main character Thibault is called T a lot and there's some play with the first letter of his name :) ) ... the sunday series is still available via colorama. There should not be a problem ordering the books from the states (with the exception of a substantial shipping), but if you need some help there, please ask me.
@@earlgrey862 just had a look at colorama to see what shipping was like. It’s actually $12 Canadian CHEAPER to buy it from Colorama than it was to buy it from Domino Books in the USA. That’s all in…cost of book plus shipping.
oha!!! seems Mr. English wants to have his share :/ ... anyways: given that your taste is not so different from mine I'd almost urge you to get the "Sunday" stuff completely then before its oop & thank me later :)
I just started getting into Olivier. He’s so good! There is a collected edition for Sunday coming out in the fall from fantagraphics. Will definitely be picking it up
that one will be one of the best books 24 already!
Cool pickups. I’ve been kind of stepping away from comics a little lately, but I did get a copy of Signal from Colourcode because I know they go for crazy prices on eBay when they go out of print because these books are so limited. I know Secret Headquarters in Los Angeles has some copies available on their site if people are looking. Maybe I’ll be able to read the Schrauwen stuff someday if it ever gets collected. I really dug Arsene Schrauwen when it was published as a hardcover by Fantagraphics so hopefully it gets put out like that eventually. Hopefully, I’ll get over my comics slump so I can get back into it.
