im going through short informative cartoons about autism as a rabbit hole and this one has my win so far. It's the most informative and helpful to autistic people ive seen so far. 10/10.
I actually have Autism. Went through 16 years without being diagnosed. Had a teacher (secondary school) legit say “something is clearly wrong with you.” I was already diagnosed with ADHD at that point, so I didn’t care too much. Being diagnosed with Autism, after a whole school lifetime of being looked down on, I’ve never wanted to wave my ace grades AND diagnosis in my teachers faces so much in my life. (Grades because one of my teachers, whilst fired now, once told me “you won’t get anything in GCSE apart from 4’s and 3’s.” I’m so happy that a I personally proved her wrong)
I know several kids at my school that have autism There’s Kira she can’t speak well and she learns how to draw and cut on paper She’s really kind and has sensitive hearing she needs more attention because she tends to wander off to other places to other people She’s so sweet. (1/10 English) Rohan, he’s obsessed with cars and Lego and gets really mad when he can’t have it He’s pretty cool and I don’t know him very much (4/10 for English) Gabriel, he’s also obsessed with toy cars and legos and is Kira’s younger brother he can’t speak English very well (3/10 for English) Woody, Woody is EXTREMELY sweet and kind and people enjoy being with him, he can speak good English and is quite smart (9/10) There was Katie’s ( Katie was the kindest girl in school she always had a beautiful smile everyday and helped everybody in need I guess you know what type of girl Katie is now :D) sister Elizabeth. She was the oldest one in my list and does not go to our school anymore. I didn’t know much about her but she was socialized and nice. We actually had a whole VIP class and it had about eight students with autism and they were about the same age as Elizabeth but I didn’t know about all them cuz I was like in grade one perhaps
They are all highly intelligent. I am sure way above average and considered to have little potential and it is a lie. It is also a misunderstanding we all need to change.
My Son and I are both high functioning autistic and this short video was verry well done I became emotional while listening to this because the amount of people who tell me you don't look Autistic you know it's not there fault but it still hugs me you know when they say this statement so I shared this well done video on our new small business page hopefully to educate everyone!
My autistic stepson has changed my life in many ways, prior to meeting him my perception of autism was that it was a hindrance yet it has been one of the most significant experience of my life! I was informed he had challenging behaviour, was unable to communicate verbally , read or write. I first met him at his home when he returned from respite care, at the time I was having a conversation with his mother & sister, he entered the room whilst I was conversing and could feel his gaze focused on me , as it was as if he looked inside my soul, after about five minutes he decided to sit on my lap which became a little uncomfortable after ten minutes as he 16 years old 5ft 5 and 85-90kg. I was intrigued as my perception had just been shattered, I saw that he had intelligence but not in the way mainstream would deem intelligent. 3 years down the line he has matured and learned and so have I in seeking to understand him as an individual, I had seen something in him and I believed I could make a difference, learning about him and teaching him and seeing progression has changed everything. He has put life into perspective, he keeps me grounded and made me realise what is important , which I believe is happiness! The whole story is a lot deeper in totality, it’s a rollercoaster ride of life, emotions and tragic circumstances but the real star Is his mother, a lady who had my respect from day 1. She is an inspiration, 1 in a million and her story can change hearts and minds.
I am a person that has autism and this video that I've watched is truly accurate. This needs to spread around the world for anyone that might not knowledge autism entirely.
Autism speaks is for overbearing perfectionist parents who hate their autistic kids, rather then for autistic people themselves, autism speaks can rot in hell for all I care
As a 17 year old with autism I would know much about since I was 3 and still growing with it. Sure there was some bumps in my special journy but I the got the hang with it, though I did got some help with my friends and familia, most importantly my mother who guided me for such long time.
I got high functioning autism, it is hard to socialize and maintain conversation but I can speak because, my mom helped me out a ton. But yeah I guess what I am trying to say is that this video I can understand without getting angry at it, and I appreciate it.
I'm an autistic 18 year old Canadian guy, and this really hits home with me, the sound sensitivity, being unable to read situations correctly, struggling with relationships, I have all of those things, I'm a slow learner, but after nearly two decades of experience with this oddity residing in my brain, I think I'm finally making some progress towards dealing with it correctly
I have autism and I don’t understand what makes me autistic. This video helped me understand myself a bit more. It’s also nice to see something positive about it for a change. Thank you 😊
My Brother has Autism.. and now that I’m hearing this I feel bad for him because he doesn’t have a good brain as my family, be still needs to learn alot, but I still love him the way he is, and he will always know that❤️🥺
I always saw autism as someone who thinks and reacts differently to the world around them. To me, they're just like any other person, just have a different perspective and process things differently from how others may process something. It's just being human in my eyes.
I have autism myself and this is very VERY correct and true and just makes me think about all the bad situations in my life because of autism but autism isn’t the worst thing in the world
Chaos I’m autistic & autistic have certainly unique challenges but also gifts that others don’t have as well as said in the video I can paint amazing images but don’t like light & sound & communication difficulties
I can say the Same to myself loud noises and crowds trigger my anxiety because of autism but I can do such complex maths so easily and quick along with other things and
Ya know now that I think about it, I think I may be autistic, I do really well with Writing and Drawing but I don’t really cope with making friends and always forget and then remember what I was going to say. But I’m not really sensitive to my surroundings, well, sometimes.
I have autism but I still wouldn’t change myself, I’ve always been a very fast learner. I consider it a gift😂 also me not being able to focus or stay concentrating for long periods of time has got me looking into other career paths that would definitely suit my condition.
When I was little, I usually have autism traits like flapping my hands when I get angry or get upset over loud sounds recently (for example, I don't really like going to the gym at school because it gets loud in here and it really bothers me). On one thing that calms me down is drawing, and I usually get special interests(like Pokemon); Whenever I get excited to go places I tend to jump up and down occasionally, until recently I was diagnosed with autism at my school. I sometimes hang out with my friends, but they have different interests than mines so I'm good to being here by myself; I also got higher grades in my school and always on track for my routines. So yeah
I don’t know if I’m autistic or not, but some of the things listed in the video I feel I can relate to. I have a hard time with social communication, I feel awkward every time I try to have a conversation with someone. I’m sensitive to certain sounds/textures, and I have an intense interest in one specific subject (physics, I graduate next year with a physics degree).
My dad struggles to understand my problem saying he has it himself on a very minor scale he doesn't understand how different my autism is. I struggle with right and wrong I told my neighbour it was good her dog passed away as there will be no more fleas in the house and this caused a shit storm I also struggle with my hygiene and I express myself through playing piano and I struggle proccesing stuff and over think everything and my dad thinks I can get myself out of it. I hate my life I feel like no one understands me and have thought about the unthinkable many times.
Get through life until you can be an adult then you can choose where your life goes people with autism usually do great things as adults and sometimes children
I have autism and I cont remove it and theres nothing I can do about it, but I don't want to. I feel my autism makes me a more compassionate, thoughtful, and goal minded person than I would be without it and sure I cant interact with other people the best, but I'm working on it. I am me, I have autism and I'm obsessed with anything to do with animals and dinosaurs, and I wouldn't change that.
Yea.. it makes me feel special and the great increased skills it gives me I don’t want to lose and I don’t wanna become a normal brained person after I have seen all the upsides in autism
My son is 19 he is high function autistic child. He can do cycling, swimming, play cricket, solve puzzles, colouring, by videos of cricket he learned cricket but cannot play in coordination i only was able to teach him batting, catching ball. He now picked all negativity and often during melt down hits(slaps) himself badly... Not able to understand why??? Please guide

As a kid dealing with autism, this video made me actually feel understood, and was accurate to the parts my autism affected
I am autistic, albeit on the higher functioning end. I expected a more pandering video saying that we are horrible people and need to be forced to change. I was kinda presently surprised though. I appreciated the ending saying to listen to us instead of trying to change us. I agree with that wholeheartedly. I’m not autistic, which is nice, doesn’t mean that autistic people(especially the high-functioning ones) can’t integrate with society
This is actually quite good. Accurate. It would be hard too put EVERYTHING in 1 video lol. But this is a good introduction I feel.
