- Une interprétation pleine de sensibilité de ce chant du père Komitas, par Tigran. Je n'en connaissais pas encore le titre quand je l'ai filmé. Mais c'est magnifique, j'espère que nous l'aurons dans son prochain disque.

Tigran vaut bien les trois coeur. Cette mélodie est magnifique.
Dans cette composition, dont j'ignore le nom, Tigran nous transmet beaucoup d'émotion. Nous sentons sa formation classique ce qui donne une construction très lyrique et émouvante. Peut-être que je le ressens plus car je suis d'origine Arménienne. Le public ne respirait plus pour écouter cette mélodie.

For those of you who are not familiar with the great Armenian composer called Komitas, this composition team is based on a song by Komitas called Hov Arek, you can called improvisation on a team (Hov Arek) by Komitas.
Exact, Komitas était un merveilleux compositeur qui a mis en musique les chants traditionnel Arménien.

Merci Paul, je réponds tardivement, mais c'est beau ce que vous dites, j'adhère. C'était à Cannes dans les jardins de la villa Domergue, les grenouilles étaient chez elles ! Beaucoup d'émotion. Je ne connais pas d'enregistrement officiel de ce concert que j'ai filmé avec une petite caméra, sans trépied.

"Hov arek Sarer djan" has a double meaning: "let us fresh air, friend" and "do we air our mountains friend" This is an allusion to the Ararat mountain, symbol of the Armenia, taken by the Turks in the early century. It is a wound in the heart of the Armenians.

Stephanie Kat Well "hov arek sarer djan" actually means "make it breezy dear mountains", this is kind means that it is being asked mountains to make shadow (it's breezy under the shadow and in Armenian there is a relation between those two words) and it has no connection to mount Ararat at all.
Guys, thank you so much for all this insight in both Armenian as a language as well as your personal interpretations of it. I hope I visit Armenia one day and try to discover what it means to me as well...for the time being I shall remain in love with this piece of art.
