Hi, I just got Radial Headload and the first button "RANGE" is acting different than low/high button on eq or phaser shift button and headphone level button which are acting smooth like butter when you move them without any scratching or teeth.. RANGE button scratches when you move it fast and when you move it slow it's like it has some fixed teeth although I can't see the logic out of that because they are so small movements and you can't do some fixed positions out of that??? Is it normal that RANGE button is that way??? If any other RADIAL HEAD OWNERS, it would be nice to say if it's normal or something is wrong with my Radial Headload? Thanks

Attenuaters work OK, but speaker simulators, no way. If you want to get a hard rock sound ala Deep Purple, Scorpions, etc, YOU NEED TO MOVE AIR. NOTHING can simulate REAL AIR. Nothing can simulate the square inches of 2 or 4 or 8 12 inch Celestions pushing a shit load of air. You might get the tone of the tubes, but you don't get the surface tension of the speakers.
Four years ago, I would have believed this. No longer. Modern digital emulation is getting so good these days that not even an old acoustic engineer would be able to tell the difference.
I could watch this guy play all day, every day & twice on Sunday! Love his style..... Very knowledgeable and quite frankly one of the best out there!

It's an attenuator with a cabinet sim. It's made to soak up sound rather than create it. You'll still need an amp
