Those poor kitties! I always feel bad for the pets. They don't understand their human having depression. They just know how they live in a mess. Thank you not only for helping a person suffering, but you help animals who can't tell you how it effects them.

Those cat litter boxes are super pricey! Poor cats were using the floor as their litter box because they are naturally clean animals and didn't want to use a dirty litter box.
What is so sad is if they are like that now after you clean it will go back to this mess. These people need mental health care
At the least it provides them with a clean, safe space for some period of time. That is worthwhile, even if it isn't maintained.
I just get mad with people who cant take care of themselves why they want to have pets ? 😢 These filth is madness.

I sure wish there were more people like you in my area. Even if those people didn't clean for free. I suffer depression and have had many medical setbacks. My home is in rough shape, over full but not disgustingly filthy. I have watched you and Mack for nearly a year and finally got brave enough to reach out for help. Unfortunately, the person I hired (yes I can afford to pay) came one time in October and then let me know they had car trouble. They have not talked to me since then. So, 2 months later, I feel so let down. I believe that cleaners need to be honest and tell you they don't intend to come back. Hoarders have enough trouble with their fear of being found out. No one has been allowed in my home for 10 years. How can I ever trust the next person who would "love to help"? I feel so betrayed and humiliated.
People will always let you down don’t do it for them do it for you
I'm so sorry that happened to you. Maybe you already tried this -- but maybe if you let a potential cleaner know the house is i really rough shape and you only expect them to clean one single room each time they come out - that might help? It might take a few months to get the whole house really clean that way but it would be so worth it for your mental and also physical health. Sending you lots of love.
Thank you for your thoughts. That is exactly what I did. I went through a help search site and let her know exactly what I was facing. We had agreed to (not a whole room) do just an area at a time. When she got here, she seemed to be understanding and very helpful. We spent 4 hours to start with. She opened packages and sorted things into labeled bags and boxes. I did vacuum-sealing and throwing things away and bagging items for the thrift store. There was no heavy lifting or "cleaning". My home doesn't have trash or food garbage. We made an appt for the next week and had discussed that it may take 20 or more sessions. I was finally willing to go the distance. This way, she would not be rushed either. That meant quite a bit of income for her. Then she texted saying her family was down to 1 car and she had to reschedule her clients. She never contacted me again. Nor did she respond to my text after that. But she is still running her business. I would fully understand if she would have said this was out of her wheelhouse or too much etc. Especially when I had been upfront and honest and very vulnerable.@@womanofacertainage5892
I'm sorry that happened. And - people will let us down. It's to be expected though no one likes it when it happens to them, and that's normal, too. I hope you will not take it personally. People's actions and behaviors and words are never about you. It's about them and what's happening within them or in their lives. I hope you try again to get help and make progress. I just discovered your channel, Barbie. My beloved aunt suffered from depression and when she passed away, her apartment looked similar to this, maybe even worse. Her sister (my other aunt) and my cousin and I cleaned it out. I wish that she had someone who could have come in to clean and get rid of things but she was too afraid or ashamed to have anyone come in at all. So sad. Cleaning helps me alleviate stress and anxiety. I don't mind helping others clean if it's because of a legitimate reason and not just pure laziness. I wouldn't even know where to begin to find people to help in my own community. I'm going through chemo right now so obviously I can't help anyone. However, I think about it often and how to make it possible after my chemo is finished and my health is better. I wouldn't even mind helping someone else that does this and needs an extra hand. I commend you for what you do.

Hi Barbie. I don't know if you had a wrist injury or what part, but if it was your wrist they sell wrist guards online that protect your wrist. I wear one at work all the time it's ACE brand and relatively inexpensive it helps protect my wrist from further injury. It's easy to wear almost like a wrist band feels like nothing is on. Something to make things a little easier... When dealing with pet hair clinging to floors, toilets, etc in the bathroom, I spray lightly all around with a bleach/water solution and wipe with paper towels (I only use paper towels for this and windows). Just to get the main amount of hair out of the way before cleaning. Otherwise you are messing with the hair most of the time. Like what you did on the baseboards.
I clean houses myself and this makes it all so much easier.

I have a great deal of empathy for the people in your videos. But I often think about the amount of money spent on the items in their homes. I wish there was a way for them to get that money back and use it to get the help they need. The cleaner is pronounced A Jacks. It’s not spelled correctly that is just how it is said. The we fee thing is funny. And girl you clean however you like. You are trustworthy and able to do what you do. Big thank you to Random Johnny!! That was an amazing clean up job Barbie and just might be what that woman needs to kick start her life again.
When tackling a messy bedroom like that (and I’ve tidied my son’s house which is similar) you might like to try sorting in this order:
Remove largest rubbish items first
Put smaller boxes inside larger
Keep going with just the rubbish and don’t focus on anything else.
Then put all clothes that need washing and move out the room.(bath might do here for now).ask owner to go to the laundromat while you are cleaning.
Then put all new items on the bed.
Clear out wardrobe, sort then put clean clothes back in.
Remove items that don’t belong in that room and take to its final place (like shampoos to bathroom)
This might stop you feeling so overwhelmed.

Hi, I’m from Canada. I have a really good cleaning hack I want to share with you. My favourite method for cleaning this type of shower. I mix one part dish soap (blue dawn is best) with 2 parts warm vinegar in a spray bottle. Swirl it around. Spray everything down. Let it sit for about 15 minutes. Wash down the whole shower and tub with microfibre cloth. You will be able to feel when it’s clean. Rinse everything down. It works like a charm. If bar keepers friend was used on a regular basis it would remove the finish. I understand 26:13 in this circumstance it was a good choice. I just thought I’d let you know my method. I love this method and have turned all my friends onto this method and they love it too. You are just a wonderful person and a great cleaner too!

I draw the line at cat litter boxes...If you can't clean them, shouldn't have a cat... Harsh but simple fact! Results were great, good job!
I used to be able to clean mine then I got brachial neuritis and lost the strength and ability to lift in my right arm. I remove the poos from the boxes when they’re “dropped off”, and I pay my cousin to clean the litter once a week (and it’s a proper clean, with a hose and dishsoap, not just an empty and refill). I can’t imagine letting them get in such a state. No cat likes using a dirty toilet.
I just wish I could clean them myself still 😭

You could always try pouring a kettle full of boiling water down the slow flowing drain before plunging if you do not want to use chemicals. It works well especially when the drain has not been in use for a while
