- What can you do with a physics degree? Apply your knowledge and skills to improve people's health and maybe even save lives.
Laura took her astrophysics PhD and turned it into a career in medical physics at Castle Hill Hospital. She also had a pretty non-traditional road into her career - something she turned to her advantage!
You can do so many things with physics - find out more at www.wripa.ac.uk
Wonderful, wish india cares more about basic science, its the merge of stems that will foster innovation, only focusing on engineering is not good.
Seeing our Blue Phantom tank in the background feels awesome. This is such an amazing field to get into.
I really love medical physics too. I need to help people using the knowledge of physics I have
I am a proud medical physicist❤
Hi. So can someone please explained how she got into the medical physics program from originally starting in astrophysics?
I am completing my master degree of science in physics and specifically i am doing my research in this field. Lately i have developed an interest in this field (medical physics) please help me with admission
how can i join after degree in physics in working with medical physics
After graduating with physics, do m.sc in Medical physics( or m.sc physics after 1 yr post msc diploma course)
Barc diploma in radiological physics
I have PhD in physics
I am interested in this field
can you help me to get admission?
Hi there, whereabouts are you based and I can hopefully direct you in the right way?

@wripa, I am from Pakistan and applying for MSc Medical physics at University of Surrey... If I did MSc Medical Physics from UK, can I work in there as a medical physicist... and what is likely hood of that... Is there demand of Medical physicist in UK
There is a demand for Physicists in the NHS to work in various areas, including medical physics, nuclear medicine and radiology. Not sure what the post-study visa requirements are after an MSC. You'd have to check with Surrey
I'm from India and i have completed my physics career in India so I would like to work in foreign.. So please tell me the basic requirements... Or any other exams for indians
Roshan Akther hua kuch?
Can I join after pg in physics ?any other requirements?
In which university is medical physics studied?
There are medical physics degrees at the University of Surrey and UCL. The University of York has recently introduced a Medical Physics module too.
Bright lady
so you don’t need to go to medical school?
No you don't go to Medical School. If you want to be an Oncologist or Radiologist, that requires Medical School as you are a trained doctor specialising in a specific field. Medical Physicists are studying (and working in) Applied Physics. You need to search for a Masters in Medical Physics program in whichever country you are in, and the program needs to be approved for the certified training program (the one she is currently finishing).
@@jacqui10 is it hard to find a job after completing the 2 year medical physics degree ? Stuck deciding between medical physics and software engineering
@@jacqui10
Medical physicists are actually doctors, they’re scientists to be specific.
People that complete medical school are *physicians*
Doctor is a broad term used for scientists, physicians etc
Edit: misread ur reply but I’ll keep this comment up anyways!

All good.
I try to clarify to people that if you study a stand-alone Masters program in medical physics, you’re not a doctor and you don’t go to medical school.
I know many people who studied the masters and moved on to a PhD in the field, so they would have a doctorate (I’m assuming like yourself?) and call themselves Dr..
But most people confuse a radiologist with a Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physicist (DIMP), and the same with an oncologist with a Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist (ROMP).
I’m currently completing the masters, and once I do I will still be a physicist, but not a doctor 😊
I cant believe she is a professional scientist. I can see a green light exposing her eyes while she is operating the equipment. How come she did not follow safety procedure. I dont know what was the source of green light, it might be hazardous.
Don't worry. Those are very often class 2 laser. Those are designed to look at without laser glasses.
They are just used for patient marking..,anyhow direct contact with eyes are harmful..,
So she is a PhD Doctor, works at a hospital but she isn't a real Doctor.
She has a doctorate and is as much a doctor as a Medical Doctor
Duh..
I was kidding
