Ludwig; Hey Spigg, wanna speedrun one of the games your good at for charity? Spiff; Sure! Also Spiff; Literally learns a new speed run in less than a month. Dear god David, you really are built different :)
Man I remember watching the og runs when I was in hospital, type 1 diabetes really messed my feet up I had to end up having 1 amputated. Tough times never last too long especially if you’re having fun watching something
Fun fact! Solemn Tempest is, in fact, not 7.5km tall. Shock horror, I know. Basically, the Barometer, the item used to gauge height and find items, works slightly different in the Northern Range. Basically, 1m in the Great Gales is equivalent to 3.2m in the Northern Range. That's why you suddenly have 40m ropes and can jump about 20m into the air. This puts Solemn Tempest's *actual* height at about 2.8km. Not very comforting, since all the horizontal climbing and technical challenges makes up a good chunk of the difference.
I think it's more likely that the character got so swole from all the mountain climbing that he is now 3.2 times bigger and got bigger equipment to match
You’re right but not completely. Solemn Tempest’s multiplier is indeed somewhere just north of 3 to 1, but Great Bulwarks is closer to 2.5 to 1. The barometer’s BASE multiplier is something like 1.17 to 1, so there isn’t a *pure* Meter anywhere in the game.
Doing that well with input delay is insane lmao. The time and effort you put in was definitely worth it, even with the fall. As Lud said, you were just stalling to make more money for the charity ;)
To the guy at 9:10, hope the job hunt went well! And if it hasn't yet, I'm sure it will. Worst to worst, just develop your own game and release it behind a studio!
I agree on thanks to you for not scrapping the vid. Peaking is just very nice from a viewer perspective. And yes, only from the viewer perspective, the DLC is frickin insane…
Spiff should play White Knuckle. It’s a lot like Peaks except it’s in an underground superstructure and you have to run away from a rapidly ascending mass of zombie flesh
Insanely commendable, even if inadvisable, to not bring up the monitor issues. Woulda been dope to see a crispier run but you raised SO much money so its chill. Good shit king, been around for like 4 years and every video is a blast, much love.
I've gotten the 3rd book for the dlc, and as a warning for you. There are not 1, but 2 mountains that look like they are solemn tempest level. After beating tempest myself, these 2 mountains terrify me. Good luck Spiff.
Congrats spigg!! I know that must have been stressful as hell. Especially when that big fall happen I got such a pit in my stomach for you because I KNOW how that must have felt. Very very good job on seeing it through and finishing though!\
Wow, rather convenient that i binged your entire peaks of yore playlist last night. Was not expecting another vid the next day considering how old the last video was
I watched the vod on Ludwig's channel, so I'm glad Spiff DID edit this video together. Knowing about the context and the hours spent peaking made it all the more entertaining. *Plink*
Thank you SO MUCH for always putting the music used in the video description. All of it is so good (AND FITS SO WELL) and I'm always happy when there's a new one to add to my playlist.
As a spiff and a lud fan that couldnt actually catch much of fast 50 as it was happening this is a great video. Also got my gaming recap and guess which loaf dad was my top one
I was there to watch your run live. Yet again your skill never ceases to amaze me and an ungodly amount of money was raised during your segment. On that day I have never been more happy to call myself an AstralSpiff fan. Thanks for being kind, funny, entertaining and generous Spiff.
Don't scrap it!! This was So Cool to watch!! I loved seeing your process of training for the speedrun and then getting to see you actually do the run live on the stream. Such an awesome accomplishment! Great work!
What timing. I quite literally just finished commenting on partlykloudy's Solemn Tempest video, which I was recommended after watching Spiff's Peaks of Yore DLC VOD a few hours ago... only to have the exact charity speedrun video that Spiff mentions he's been procrastinating over in his interview with kloudy, suddenly appear in my feed! LOL Looking forward to seeing the plink spam fest in Ludwig's chat 😻
"These streams are so calming." Boy, i WISH. Having played, and finished, the game myself, i just start sweating whenever i watch someone does The Solemn Tempest lmao. Still a great watch, tho. Hope to see you tackle the DLC, too!
Good job Spiff glad to see your peaking practice came in clutch and that you and chat raised so much for charity, being a Spiff fan for so long makes moments like this all the better. Wish you the best in the future and that you keep posting vids that we can all enjoy.

I've been watching UA-cam in general for atleast 6 years now and you're very likely in my top 3 favorite content creators. Thanks for making videos and being a good content creator dude, I hope you can hit 1M subs soon!!! Also, remember to keep making videos you're proud of, no matter how long it takes.
i loved being there for the peaks training streams, probably one of my favorite games to watch you play live and the ludwig event was so much fun to watch as well! thanks for not scrapping this video spiff, i have been looking forward to it since the event ended!
As someone who has only ever managed to climb this mountain once with heavy use of the safety harness, I still feel my heart make a crater into my stomach with some of those leaps

I am so glad you didn't scrap this vid, it was super fun all the way though. I couldn't catch many of the Yore streams when you were grinding it so it's nice to kind of catch up like this, and I knew next to nothing about the story behind the event, so very fun to hear all about. Awesome vid, awesome climb and you're a madlad for just playing with the extra difficulty of .2 delay, just to flex that you could
Ohhh! I was wondering why you played Peaks of Yore on twitch! I just watched the 7500 m mountain video, then got in your twitch and was surprised to find you playing this game again!
I’m so happy you didn’t scrap this vid. I missed the charity stream and was very curious how it had gone. I love this community and I’m so glad UA-cam decided to show me your videos almost 2 years ago ❤️
Dude the first 10 seconds had me choking laughing from the pink maid dress. Mainly because at first glance I thought that was you and got so flabergasted.
Its honestly great seeing how far you've come, i've been watching your videos for 3 years and its wild how much growth you've had and its all deserved. keep doing what your doing Spiff your videos are genuinely amazing even if sometimes it takes months for them to come out.
Thank you for not scrapping the video, I watched the live-stream vod a few days after the event and I was impressed then but now I'm even more impressed as you cut down your time massively in such a short period of time and then had to deal with in my opinion MASSIVE input delay as you could look down at your self pressing the key and then look up at the screen and then see the result in real-time. (I'm shocked that you didn't say about it once during the run)
Glad to see you didn't scrap this! It was a wonderful journey to watch :D but goodness every time watching those jumps my stomach does flips, major props to you for chuggin through
watching your run live was so awesome as long time lud fan and a long time fan of yours it was so cool to see yall work together. happy you finally made a video on it :D

As somebody who lives in LA, I can confidently say that it is really huge and confusing if you're a traveler. You get used to it in around 3 days to a week. Its really fun once that happens! Also Spiff is very speedy lets gooooo
I love Spiff having the balls to sign up for a run he was nowhere ready to do, but not wanting to be an inconvenience and playing with a .2 delay. Very much the type of guy Spiff seems to be lmao
