Mr. Gibbons, It had been hard for me to learn how "color to number" works. Now I understand it, watching your video. I can't wait for your seamless texture tutorial. 😉 Thank you so much.
Awesome, happy to help. It can be difficult to explain for sure. I still haven't come up with a good visual that explains it well. But glad to hear it!
Great video, This has definitely been my workflow for the past few years especially for high detailed results. Am certain there is a huge crowd out there who will benefit from all the effort you are putting in to share all this great content! Kudos!
Hey, Roshan! Thanks man :D Good to hear from you. Yeah, it's great to know the 'right' approach and yet sometimes, you just need to know the basics and follow your gut.
Material Masterclass course. I've never purchased a course before but I'd definitely buy that one. Materials for me are very confusing. Even with this video I'm lost!!!
Great video. I wonder if it is possible to use RealClothe in order to create a Lamé Fabric, it mean a fabric with chain wire in gold and trame with normal wire?
You might be able to. You can control the roughness and index of refraction for warp and weft individually, so I think you could get close. As long as it's woven and not knitted. Realcloth won't do knits.
Thank you, Will!. I am mainly using PixPlant and Photoshop to create a seamless texture. Crazybump works better for me but it is no longer updated to work on newer MacOs. How about you?
Thanks for chiming in! Yes, I'm familiar with both those tools. I use a variety of approaches, but typically, I can make it work with Photoshop alone. I think it comes down to how familiar you are with the program. Most people have a pretty basic level of experience with it. I'm only slightly more experienced than basic level, haha
Thanks for the video! One thing I've never understood is why does bump height even have a number? Shouldn't Colour to Number solve this? Or does the bump height dictate WHERE the white point is and everything else falls in between? I may have figured this out as I typed this lol

This is just amazing. Cannot wait for you to introduce the new master class ✌🏻 Would love to see a tutorial on creating seamless textures
Yes! agree with that. Would nice to see a seamless textures tutorial 😎
Thank you for taking time to comment! Glad to hear it was helpful!
Noted! Cheers,

That's helpful! I appreciate your comment :)
Excellent tutorial! Would love to see how you tile textures in PS
Challenge accepted :D
That scene file is spectacular!
Cool! Maybe it'll be featured in some future material tutorials.
This is so well-done, clear, and helpful. I'm really looking forward to the master class!
Awesome, that's my goal. Thanks for letting me know!

@@WillGibbons Indeed. I Mostly end up with photoshop for better results and using an online tool for Normal bumps. Thank you Will for a great Video.
Seamless textures 🙏🏼🙌🏼
ayooo!
Excellent. Thanks. And yes, please show how to repeat in photoshop.
Cool! It's coming. Make sure you're subbed and you'll see it on Monday morning. Cheers!
Great video! Could you please make a video on how to make seamless texture in photoshop!
Yep! Thanks :)
Definitely guilty of relying on the bump map too much. Will, have you done any playing with using Stable Diffusion yet to synthesise textures?
We all have! haha, no I haven't yet. Been pretty impressed with others who have though! Great use of AI IMO
Very helpful thanks
Cheers!
Thanks for the video!

The number is relative to the grayscale values. It's just a built-in feature that existed long before the material graph did.
v cool
Thanks Tate!
Nice tutorial, guess I'll start saving up money to get myself an Iphone
Lol, the phone has nothing to do with it. Any pic will work.
keyshot rendering are needlessly complex. The company need to fix the software
Which rendering software do you use that you feel is simpler?
