I’m glad you spoke of egg laying chicken suffering. Many people thinks is no animal abuse in eggs.
We have a friend who raises Chickens, and they let their Chicken's rest for a few months in Winter, before they get going in Spring.
I only buy eggs if I know they come from FREE RANGE chickens. I don't care if the others are cheaper. And if I can't afford them, I rather not have them.

@@maritzarojasjerez4260 I agree with Carasforever, egg labelling is sneaky. Even when the say, “Free Range”, there isn’t always a governing body checking to make sure they aren’t just lying. Organic Free-Range has better oversight, because the rules are more strict for the “Organic” label. I bought Free-Range for years before I dug deeper, research-wise! Cheers!

I think you guys get a adrenaline High anticipating when going dumpster diving and when you get a fantastic haul it just pushes you for the next dumpster dive haul a chain reaction of Happiness...!!!
The crushed cans are fine as long as they are not puffed up, or that they are crushed on a seam, which can allow bacteria in. Your cans looked very good, I wouldn't hesitate to use them.

nice haul. use up the dented cans first. or put them in baggies. and put them in the freezer. beans freeze well and so do tomato products. we saw a video where a guy got cases of stuff he couldn't take it all so he called two other dumpster divers and they cleaned out the whole dumpster. nothing left. i wonder what the workers thought the next day. i thought it was pretty funny. times are getting tough. for people. have a blessed day.

I saw a show called "Vet on the Hill" that is a vet from Australia that went an opened a practice in England. One of the shows he did was saving the chickens that were no longer at "egg laying capacity" that people were encouraged to adopt rather than being euthanized. You are right about the chickens not being kept in the healthiest of conditions and he checked them over so they could be taken to better homes. He even took 6 back to his house for his kids to take care of and get eggs for his family but being free range not in tiny cages stacked on top of each other. Thought you would like to know.

Diving is so addictive. We donate so much to the shelter and to the homeless....and made over $400 from a yard sale to benefit Haiti!!! It is so much fun finding random stuff.

The newly hatched male chick's are ground up ,laying hems have a very short life as soon as they stop laying they are killed

You guys want to hear something hilarious? This guy Andy has a dumpster diving channel. He's OMGAndy. Anyhow, he said one time he was in a dumpster and the security guard came out for a smoke. So he ducked down in the dumpster and farted. The security guy says anyone there? I laughed 'till I about cried. I think that is so damned funny.

Yes, it insults chickens to throw away eggs. Thankfully, market eggs are usually unfertilized so no chicks are lost. The damage comes to the growers, distributors & the store, depending on who takes the loss. Losses drive up costs, ultimately making the product more expensive for the consumer.

Please clean them always with pressured water machine just for safety as they sit in the dumpster. Especially the fruits, eggs etc. At least with a pressure gun. You can buy for couple of dollars. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I sometimes can’t watch the actual haul because I’m afraid someone will hassle you. I fast forward till you show the haul. I’m so grateful someone is using all this food.
