Geoff Tate and Pamela Moore were such an incredible vocal team. So theatrical and dramatic. Their note durations when singing together were just spot on!
I saw them open for Def Leppard in 1988. My brother in law played Mindcrime on the way there. I'd never heard it before. After the show I walked away wanting more. I forgot all about Def Leppard and bought my first CD ever. Operation: Mindcrime
@@paisleyprincess7996 from my recollection that was what happened. Then they showed up in Tulsa for Mayfest (I believe) which is a festival downtown. I let Geoff have it for telling Oklahomans they sucked. Doubt he heard me but it felt good.
Was at this show and even made it onto the DVD in the Tour Documentary section with my GF. I had recently returned from Iraq. A memorable evening with a memorable band!
Saw these guys in Deleware 2003 headlining with Dream Theater and Fates Warning in a monsoon. It was epic. Hope to get to see these guys again. They were awesome.
He had that lady to compensate his lost high-range. Still sounds hella lit though! He pushed his head voice way down to his chest voice and it sadly caused voice-loss :(
All singers at his age sing lower notes. Bruce Dickinson does it all the time. But, I will say in this performance he is hitting most of them. When playing live, Chris sang most of the high notes in the choruses anyway. Pamela is just singing those parts here.
geoff is for the most part amazing on this dvd. if you were refering to the geoff of 2011 - 2012 then i would agree that he is terrible but he is amazing on this. he actually sings the intro of this song higher than on the cd which i dont really like and he does go flat sometimes but he was about 50 during this tour.
Wait, people are saying he doesn't sound different, the voice sounds great, but he's not hitting ANY of the high notes, taking it real easy on his voice, maybe it's shot, dunno.

gremlinjr2 The only time I heard him hit the notes was on the studio album, never live, ever. So I guess he had a short window where his voice was pristine, I don't know what happened... Steven Tyler originally sang Dream On with the voice of an angel, I doubt anyone could believe that's him now... or even a little later... sometimes smoking, drugs, dunno, Steve Perry of Journey came back recently with The Eels, and he's STILL got it after all these years... amazing... couldn't believe it.

Geoff tate has aged and his voice isn't going to be the insane operatic quality of Rage for Order or the original Mindcrime album back in the 90s. However he isn't bad in this. He smoked for many years and I think that took a toll on his voice.
EVERY time I hear this song or any song from “Operation: Mindcrime”, I am enchanted as if hearing the story for the firs time. It’s the definition of a masterpiece, hands down!!!
I won't argue with that but I will say I seen Queensryche a ton of times and the last concert I seen of then with the new singer BLEW MY MIND how good he sounds . I was worried about it before the concert but when they came on stage the new singer has nothing to be ashamed of . Is he Geoff Tate .......no .........does he sound almost as good , let's just say you couldn't get any closer . Heck I closed my eyes to a song and honesty couldn't tell the difference hardly
I was at these shows when they recorded them. They sounded a lot better live. This recording does not do it justice. This was ridiculously awesome in person, but the recording sounds weak and thin.
The best show ever, The premium Rock Opera of all time, I'm happy and proud to have lived in Seattle all my life, and the pleasure to share this time with Queensryche,,, I hope you guy's and Geoff Tate have a truce, and make it happen again,,, before I'm too old

Great Band , Phenomenal album,Tates Voice ..The Best !! I saw them open up for Def Leppard in the round 1988 .. Queensryche Blew me Away !! Still a very big fan today !! 🤘🏼😈
Everyone knows it was better with Chris and everyone wishes Chris had stayed in the band. But he didn't. Would you rather they quit? This is still a killer band.
I love Geoff, but this was the beginning of the end. The band is 1/2 step down and he avoids the high range parts. It's not his fault, it's just what time does to a singer.
Never been really into Queensryche but I've always loved this track.Tate's absolutely smashing it on the vocals here, although the all the dramatic stuff isn't something I'm that into.
He is a great actor and was a great singer but this video clearly shows how he lost his abilities by the 2nd half of the past decade. Avoids singing almost all the difficult parts of the song in the original pitch.

This one still gives me chills

As good as it gets... Awesome!
Love it... So Great!!!
Awsome sound
Geoff is the man
Nice band
God can he sing!
Guitarists are so melodic
Sinister⚘❤🎶🎸😎🙂remember
Geoff Tate knows he dominates and is the best heavy metal vocalist ever!

High range doesn't matter anymore. He proved what he had to prove long ago, but this perfomance of his on the stage is out of this world. A legend.
Geoff Tate the best rock vocalist of all time!
Tate once hailed as the best voice in hard rock / metal seems to have lost his way
Don’t forget Sebastian Bach his voice is awesome too
Tate is back. Look up videos from 2021-2022
While no one can replace Chris Degarmo I appreciate what Mike Stone Kelly Gray and Parker Lundgren have brought to this amazing band!!
As a Ryche head from way way back I agree Ryche and Roll
I agree about Stone and Lundgren. Kelly Gray had a different. And it wasn't a Queensryche sound.
KNAC forever

sry, for this but have to, suggest for branch this concept album into musical, sry again
Queensrych has never been the same or as good since Chris DeGarmo left the band.
@acereroycementero Ano!!! Yes!!!! :-D and FATES WARNING-Disconnected is best progress!!!:-D
The guy playing opposite Whip looks & sounds a lot like Mark Tremonti....crazy resemblance...
To me he looks like Vanilla Ice...not good.
Before he lost his voice...And his mind. He went from this to a strange Cabaret show
Where are the Geoff Tates of today's music?
Alice Cooper!
Great performance but it would be so much more powerful without the over the top theatrics.

They ought to be on Broadway
Would LOVE to see this as a theatrical movie. (Ie Tommy as an example)
