The Doors keyboard player Ray Manzarek had Polish origins, his original name was Rajmund Manczarek.

Thank you very much for reacting to this. Jim Morrison had a great voice and sadly was only 27 when he died in 1971.
Thank you once again and take care.
Kindest regards to you as always.
    😊😎🎸

    Beautiful reaction.
Believe it or not, I saw this when it was broadcast live on a Sunday night.
Even though I was too young to really understand the song, I distinctly remember Jim Morrison's singing and his charismatic presence.

Light my fire is from first The Doors album (1967) and album version is much longer then this tv version with long organ and guitar solos. The Doors are one of most important rock artists ever and Jim Morrison was a genius songwriter and performer. I would recommend all their songs, especially: Riders on the storm, The End, When the music is over, Soft parade, LA Woman, Strange days, People are strange, Ghost song, Break on through, Waiting for the sun. Look also for:
Janis Joplin - Ball and chain Monterey pop festival 1967
Jimi Hendrix - Hey joe - Monterey pop festival 1967
These are most surprizing performances ever

Just a little bit more information about this video. It was actually broadcast live on a famous American television show, The Ed Sullivan Show on September 17th 1967.
Before the live performance Jim Morrison was asked not to sing the line "Girl we couldn't get much higher" and to replace it with something like "Girl we couldn't get much better". This was because Sullivan and the shows producers felt that the original line might be referring to drugs.
Apparently, Jim agreed to do this, but being the rebel he was, he had no intention of doing so.
When the live broadcast went out Jim of course sang the original lyrics. 😂
Sullivan and the producers were furious and The Doors were banned from ever appearing on the show again.
    Regards to you,
    😊😎🎸

Supposedly they were told they would never be invited to be on Ed Sullivan again, and Jim typically of him said "Hey we just were on Ed Sullivan.
