Had to edit and re-upload due to removing some artwork at the artists request.
AJ Pickett I was wondering about that. At first I thought it was a follow up video or something.
I did notice the resemblance to an earlier video yes. Well I'll replace the like I dropped on the old one then.
It's good you took it off like they wanted but wasn't it like free advertising and you could have even offered to quickly mention their art towards beginning of vid not end
Stingey artist. What a dick. You would think he would appreciate the exposure.
@@dragonballtalk8527 Some artists do not see it that way, its completely their right and I support them either way.
Hello dear youtubers and dice rollers.
I wanted to inform you all that in my campaign, the heroes successfully defeated (and killed permanently) the Spider-wolf. It was long, gruesome and not without sacrifices, but the challenge rating 33 Miska is no more. I might have slipped a few “Nerdy” details about the Vaati but the campaign was epic nonetheless. Thank you for the detailed video that covered the spots I missed and godspeed to you all.
I am currently playing in Princes of the Apocalypse, and I am a mostly Star Druid/Divination Wizard Centaur who wanted to gain knowledge to better protect the world and save it from the Evil Elemental, and as a result she's gotten the attention of the Wind Dukes and multiclassed into Knowledge Cleric (like, as of now, she's now Level 11 Star Druid, Level 2 Divination Wizard, and Level 1 Knowledge Cleric). She has befriended a tribe of Aarkocra who follow the Wind Dukes and are in the process of claiming the now-abandoned Feathergale Spire to dedicate it as a proper temple to the Wind Dukes (which my Centaur plans to assist as soon as she finishes closing the remaining portals). Right now we have one left to close (the Fire Node) and a few other loose ends to tie up in the meantime, but the end of this campaign is in sight (but our DM does have a habit of throwing in extra stuff that isn't technically part of the module, so we might get an epilogue afterwards).
excellent
Very useful I have an aaracokra who is a servant of the wind dukes in a game of tomb of annihilation currently so getting to know the deeper lore than one can find online is a lifesaver
Skip and Penny williams are friend of a close friend of mine who unfortunately recently passed away. Great people both of them:)!
I love hearing and learning about the Vaati. Keep up the amazing work AJ Pickett.
love the vaati
By uniting together for a single goal the Queen of Chaos proved the superiority of Order. That is what order is about. Unity for a common purpose without dissenting voices and individual goals and agendas.
I can respect your decision to replace and give bits of research to make it all flow a little nicer, I liked the first one but this definitely helped solidify the rase as something I could actually run verses just admiring them but not being able to really do anything with them,
so that you AJ, I wish you the best of luck
I've long been attached to the Vaati. When I got into D&D, back in the mid 90s, 2E was D&D, and though I've only played that a dozen or so times, that is when the art got me into the lore, and the Rod of Seven Parts wad one of the first Artifacts I wad attracted to. I wanted to know more about the Wind Dukes, the Spyder-Fiends, their Queen, and Miska; I'd love to see 5e stuff for that, even if it might punch a little weaker now, then it did back in the day. I have a tendency to get over-involved with seemingly minor little points of campaigns, and one such thing was the princess in Tomb of Annihilation. Mwaxanare is a Warlock whose Patrons are the Vaati, and that left me wondering what type of interest these beings could have with a little, know nothing princess from another world? As such Lawful beings, I don't imagine they would do it capricious, or without cause, so what would they want from a girl from another world, who could be killed by a commoners cough? I never even expected to hear them referenced in FRCS, so this excited me greatly, even if it was likely something I would be left to my own devices on.
Did you happen to come up with any answers, or are we now both tortured on sleepless nights wondering what the hell the Vaati are involved with there....?
I believe that an air duke is mentioned in one of R.A Salvatores Drizzt novels. Some goodly Drow live on a wind dukes body somewhere in the cold north a hidden city called Callidae or something like that. Thank you for the video and have a good day 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊.
Hey AJ Pickett, if you ever what/need a few more images for a bit let me know and I'll do my best to draw up a few usable images for you. Thanks again for all the great videos.
Correction " for a video" not bit, goofy auto correct lol
@@ryderma1 Thanks, I will keep that in mind :)
Feed a part of it to a tarrasque, screw all those who want to take the Multiverse and ruin it. Spellweavers would loose their item chucked into it's maw too. Nothing escapes that third stomach.
Thanks for the video. I plan to use Vaati in my campaign and the information was very helpful as always!
The video this week have been very interesting but the throne of the gods was the best. I hope you do more item/ artifact videos in the future thanks for you hard work AJ
There's been a temporal distortion...illithids.
Some sort of Chaos effect!
My bad I was fishing and playing DND I caught an octopus and spilled a shoebox full of dice trying to throw it back I think I might have thrown it back in time through several dimensions
Awesome video! Keep it up.
"[T]hey have the authority to call on the full power of Celestia. ..."
I love this lore. It is general enough for DMs to interpret as they will. I can't help but root for a scenario in which Bahamut hears the Wind Dukes' call for aid as it transpires the multiverse. What happens when all the good dragons unite across time, plane, and space? A flight of coppers sounds like a terrifying air force to me. Fighter jets with genius intellects. :)
I've always liked the Vaati, but the have sometimes left me wondering; whom did THEY serve? The efforts of Chaos can be trailed back to the Queen of Chaos, and Miska, the Wolf-Spider. They have names, and personalities, but the Wind Dukes didn't seem to have masters, or even heroes, with names I found. SOMEONE created the Rod, and probably conducted the efforts of Law, but I don't know who. Tanar'ri exist, but they don't seem to have a Lawful counterpart trying to restrain them into stasis, whether good, or evil.
Yeah, like actual history, seems there are lots of holes and more then a few re-writes.
Thank you for the most amazing content
Thanks for fixing this
Great video
And just for fun, a Duke takes a tako and makes it into a very powerful adventurer and force fo order.. (I'd like to see that tako player caricature and there interactions with ther worlouk patron)
Here wuz Seamus!
Sorry to double post AJ but just had a idea for a Chaotic Good Vaati that lacks immortality, it involves them being born after a Demi-god cursed their parents. This curse did not alter them, but any born from them would be born as a mortal and much like Hercules could not live in their home plane until they die. So they would become a new race and akin to the Gerudo of Zelda their genes are quite dominant to where even a hundred generations later would be mortal Vaati. What do you think?
Are there many Vaati that attempt to become Djinn after death?
A long life is still a mortal life, so, that's why I ask. A sort of Wind Duke "Baelnorn" concept.
Their natures align, slightly. LN is a close neighbor to CG, and the elemental affinity/innate natures.
It is certainly possible, there may not be any known examples, but... they could be out there. I mean, how often do the immortals talk about their true origins?
Lawful neutral is a close neighbor to chaotic good?
@@Mr_Maiq_The_Liar
Yes.
I swear we have been here before.
I wonder which is older from not the perspective of the universe cus that's far too subjective, but I mean from these races own perspective and there own records...
The wind dukes, The spell Weaver's, or the lashy ( fey creator race)
Dang, just in time for my commute to work, good lookin' out AJ lol
Ohh you're saying "LAW", it took me way too long into the video to get that.. I though you were saying "LORE".
My party is trying to create or find a portal to the elemental plane of air and the DM’s guide is woefully lacking in depth of lore on this place. Not that making everything up is off the table but it’s nice to not have to home brew /everything/
Nice. I wonder if we will see Vaati in Vecna Eve of Ruin?
What warlock patron would you use for a Vaati? Djinn seems closest but still not quite right
Primordial or celestial.
My plan: I tease a party with an iron flask held by a devil, "I have a powerful air creature in here who might be able to grant wishes."
In fact, it would be a Vaati front-line warrior who got imprisoned during the final confrontation in Pesh. When they open it (planned to be during a deadly sand-room trap) they are plane shifted to the fields of pesh where the vaati warrior gets his "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" warrior trauma from witnessing the *many* cairn hills. Sends party back after letting them discuss philosophy and conflict with an awareness that one moment ago was fighting Miska's army (and is of pure law, too) for a bit.
Anything I'm missing for the setpiece?
I'm from NZ and your accent is strong lol
It reminds me a little bit of John Key (no offense intended lol)
Loving the videos though, keep them up! :D
In your Dawn War video you mentioned the Wind Dukes were Angels of Bahamut, so is that just those 7 that were the Dukes?
AJ,Do you believe that there is a world or worlds that the Wind Dukes are not compatible? Besides Ravenloft of course.
Eberron
@@AJPickett thanks
so if the arent concerned with good and evil and for them there is only "THE LAW" did they particepate or influence the blood war( befor asmodeus ascended and stopped it)?
Wow. First View.
The last time I was this early, the Creator Races still ruled Toril.
>First Comment.
You dare challenge me mortal?
Daniel Nevill Lol. You might have got your comment in first. I’ll give you that.
good re-upload AJ
Heh! Thanks Chris :)
How would an "exceptionally young" Vaati be depicted as a "youngling" that's gone off adventuring to experience the multiverse themselves, and grow into themselves? In other words, how can we make the vaati a playable race, like the Elves, Humans, Dwarves, etc, just longer lived than elves?
How can we incorporate them into a modern.5e campaign or a good reason to use da dukes instead o some other similar being
Any visit to the inner planes has a change of encountering them, one of their monuments, ruins and there is always the chance of unearthing some legacy from their past, the didn't just make the Rod of Law, any culture capable of that level of craftsmanship and sorcery no doubt created other items of incredible value.
❤️❤️
Nicest first comment ever.
Are they in any 5e books?

Elf's elf.
Power of lore or law?
Loor
@@AJPickett what is that? Lol
@@wraithreaper22 oh sorry, thought we were playing a game. It's Law.
@@AJPickett I'm just dumb 😅
Im saying it as Loor from now on. Capital L included.
First thought before seeing the video: you must pay for your oxygen.
That's twice I thought this video was about noble djinn.
There's no ecology of the Hounds of Law. What's up with that?
Pretty sure it's called Arcadia.
These winds seem, familiar.... : )
Also wasn't this already uploaded days ago or am I a psychic now lol
Yes, I had to take it down and remove some artwork at the artists request, which is something I have always deeply respected.
Re watched the re upload

Why would you consider things from early D&D nerdy and not things after? If anything you have it backwards......socially speaking.
Is the Queen of chaos related to Morticia Addams?
lol!
