I really like the Boone, and I’ve been thinking about doing the same thing…using it as a gravel/all-around bike. Can’t wait to see more.
I absolutely love my Boone and have been thinking of doing this!!👊🏼💪🏼
Yes bread bin - big up the trek, team cycles, Rapha and jumping on a train and riding in that area ❤
You should
Having seen that Domane up close, it was a beautiful bike but I like the versatility potential with the Boone. Be good to hear your thoughts on it after a few rides. 👌🏻
Love the Boone paint
I'm curious about the _feel_ of the geometry of the Boone vs. the SL7.
In a word…yup!!🙌 let’s see this!
Lovely looking bike mate 👊.
I did wonder how long other creators spent editing... Mad how many hours go into producing a nicely crafted edit. You do well to fit this in alongside a full time job 👍
Also did the DR130 last week and it was tough but felt good to get it done with the summer and hopefully sun still to come……. We can build from here 😁
The new Boone looks great m, go for the change!!
Think I prefer the Domane 😱
Really?
Nah that Boone is clean as in smooth
I saw you up at the Dirty Reiver but didn’t get chance for a wagwan! I did 130k too, but was my first gravel so I took it steady. Had plenty in the tank at the end which was a surprise, so looking forward to my next gravel. Boone looks nice, it will be interesting to see how it goes, I’m thinking of a titanium frame for a build next.. 👍🏻😎
It looks great. Being a cross bike it’s going to be quicker handling due to steeper head angles. It could be a little disconcerting on long off road decents. A gravel bike will feel a bit more stable with loads of room for larger tires. You said you’ve already had a checkpoint but that may be the best choice for adventure riding at least from Trek.
Yes, yes, yes love the Boone! 😊
Good one Ben.. Trek boone niceeeeee!!! 👍
Your ew bike setup looks sweet😍.
Get the Boone, plenty of CX races up here for you to do in the winter too, no excuses 😂
@ben, how is this 650b functions on your Boone? Are you using a 47mm tire, right? Would love purchase a Boone and use it as an all road one. 700c wheels for dry and light gravel and 650bs for more off-road rides
The Boone frame paint work looks really nice. Nice choice. Maybe take it on a train and go for an exploration ride.
Cool idea I said last week we haven’t done a train to trails video for a long time
New bike looks awesome 🤟
I had that bike, I did the same thing you're trying to do and if I'm honest it just doesn't really cut the mustard. Also, the cable routing through the headset is nothing short of a joke and makes a simple bearing change expensive. I found that it didn't "Go" like other bikes. I struggled to sell it. Nice build too, I had Force AXS carbon bars etc...
I think the only issue with cycle cross bikes is that they make them with a higher BB height.
Good to see I am not the only one trying to rationalize...whatever bike addiction makes you do 🤣
Great video. Boone looks great.
Thanks bud 👊🏽
Grey Camo De-lish 😍😍
Benjamin , correct me if i'm wrong but the emonda is the ALR version , if so tell me how it is to ride it . Greetings from Belgium
Yes ALR Palmeres
Loving the new bike .
Cheers
Yep. Like the Boone
The geometry of the Boone is really close to the Domane, little lower stack height on the front end. The Domane RSL frame would have been even more aggressive geo. And yes the Boone is far and away the least purchased Trek in the "road" category.
I consume a lot of cycling content on youtube but I've never heard of this bike before until now. Had to look it up and looks like it's been around for years. The youtube algorithm has failed me.
Consume?😂
Short and sweet video.. Nice
Crammed in the best bits 👊🏽
Hey man. How tall are you and what size is your bike? Thanks
Aren’t Boone’s designed for riding slow in mud and grass?
Nice bike!! 🚴
I have Trek Domane gen 3 but it is HEAVY! How come the Boone is so much lighter???
maybe because its a higher/better grade of carbon used for the boone frame
Great bike, but, 3k for a apex mechanical takes the motivation to go for it. If it was being sold at 2250 and you take that difference in money to improve the bike to your fitting. it would be a great deal
Love the new bike, but just curious why you chose the 650s? I’m new to cycling and I’m still learning.
Yo. They are of the Domane. 700 wheels are being made.
The 650B wheels typically allow you to fit *wider tires* than 700C wheels on a given frame. Those higher volume tires let you run lower air pressure and therefore benefit from *more comfort & grip* on loose or bumpy terrain.
@@malcontent_1 gotcha. That makes sense. Thank you.
Nice but I miss the colours.
Can you sort out that helmet strap please? Thanks. 😘
No rules just ride 😂
looks like team are not short on bikes 🚴
There’s a few 😂
That’s an amazing Trek dealer with that amount of inventory and building size. Nothing like in my area of the USA.
Yes yes yes swap thats a good looking bike .. hows the clearance?
Boone looks good
Boom Boone ❤️
Think i prefer the Emonda Alr
I say try the Boone. You got nothing to lose
Hi Ben! I am looking to upgrade from a Mountain Bike to a Road bike to do the London to Brighton for the first time. For beginner cyclist (at least road cyclist) do you think the Domane makes more sense due to the relaxed geometry? I've looked at getting both a Domane and Emonda but I am afraid that the Emonda might be too aggressive for long rides at my entry level experience with Road cycling. I have also looked at the Giant Defy range as they seem to be a bit more sporty/racy than a Domane while still being in the Endurance Category.
I have started to watch your videos recently while Bike hunting and I love your content. Keep it up and good luck with the new training plan! If you have any thoughts on the above please let me know 😃
Both very similar bikes. I love my Emonda AL. The Domane is a good bike and it takes large wheels for light gravel.
London to Brighton is a good day out.
You can probably make both bike as aggressive or relaxed as you like.
Go sit on some bikes see how you feel. Definitely get a bike fit.
Feel free to come to Team cycles and I’ll help you out.
Yes, and get that bike for *_before_* you buy anything.
#bik4s
Carbon better ma😂
Should’ve bought a Crux
So BE FULLY TRANSPARENT WITH YOUR RESPONSE TO MY QUESTION for YOU! PLEASE!
Just how COMFORTABLE is the Emonda ALR!
HARSH RIDE?
