    Lovely apartment. I would gladly stay there. Everything was done with love. I do not like only 3 things: hanging shelves over the child’s head. Very rude “No, you shut up” - your child is growing with this slogan. It is not polite, but growing with it will become a norm. And that ugly piece of art with 2 thick black doodles. It does not fit in. I get the idea of having black lines on the white - but it is very pretentious and “cuts my eye”. And forth thing - at unforgivably criminal level: Why, why did you cut out pastry out of Breakfast at Tiffany? Why?

    • @bellaluce7088
      @bellaluce7088 Рік тому +2

      I am genuinely curious: why comment on what you DON'T like when viewing someone's private home? Would you say that to her face while in her home? If not, why do you think it's okay to do it here where she can obviously read it?

    • @rosietheriveter107
      @rosietheriveter107 Рік тому

      @@bellaluce7088 Yes. I would say it to her face. Safety of the child comes first. Those shelves over the child’s head are extremely dangerous: physically. Mentally… how could I put it nicely? “I beg to differ” would work better. It sounds mature, responsible towards the child in the house and polite… More civil … if you will. But since disrespectful towards the guests
      “No, you shut up” came from Etsy…. who am I to criticize? :):):)
      PS. BTW I started my original comment with sincere compliments. For some reason, you skipped them and moved directly to the critical part of my comment…. I genuinely wonder why?

    • @bellaluce7088
      @bellaluce7088 Рік тому

      @@rosietheriveter107 I didn't comment on your positive remarks because it's commonplace to say something nice when someone invites you into their home, but I did and do appreciate what you said. I especially liked that you commented on everything being done with love. I picked up on that too, and perhaps that's why it bothered me so much that multiple people made quite nasty personal attacks in the comments (NOT talking about your original comment). When I see stuff like that, I feel like it's extra important to avoid adding even more negativity because we all know by now that it's impossible to predict who may have a tragic mental health reaction to negative online comments. I understand that you may not have seen the other comments when you made yours. I also totally get commenting on bookshelves overhead if you literally think a child is in danger.
      I think Homeworthy and some other channels occupy a tricky space online because they show the PRIVATE spaces of people who may also do some kind of design work professionally. I can totally fan girl about pros and cons in comments about things meant for public consumption, e.g. "I love the new color of this year's model X, but I wish they'd bring back the Y trim from last year." But for me there is a clear boundary that when someone is generous enough to share their personal space, experience, story, etc. online, it is not my place to critique it. But I have noticed that even people who make nice initial comments like yours and clearly think about etiquette (disliking the "No, you shut up" picture) don't always share that same social norm, and I really am curious about that.
      I can also see that my upsetness with the handful of really nasty comments I read before I saw yours probably made me more fiery than I would otherwise be in what I wrote to you. I'm sorry for that.

      @rosietheriveter107 Рік тому

      @@bellaluce7088 Beautiful Lucy, oooh! Once someone posts video on any social network, it becomes open not only to compliments, but also to criticism. Those are and always were the rules of the game. Forget about political correctness. People tend to voice theirs opinions: nice and nasty. Just accept it maturely and move on. ASI es La vida. So, do not waste your time on getting upset over something that you cannot change. A person who “opens the door of her house” takes this risk of being criticized. End of story.
      You were right. I did not read comments of the others. I guess, they also point to the lack of class in the “No. You shut up”? Ha Ha Ha. Probably, passive -aggressive teenager who keeps arguing with her mother still lives in many of us. We just need to be mature enough and do not display it.
      Going back to apartment- it is very lovely, contemporary and real. By that, I mean …. Many youngsters live in virtual computer world. They are not capable of creating anything more than IKEA environment or coffee houses. Our hostess created a beautiful environment in her apartment with many details that reflect her character. I wish her and her family the best. She does have creativity.

      @@rosietheriveter107 I'm glad to see your additional nice comments about the home and the owner and her family. : - ) I will keep plugging away at my dream of more civil online discourse since it can literally save lives. I also just think it's more fun to live in a world where people are kind. : - ) Luckily that already exists in so many pockets online--it just needs to grow. Big surprise: When you post on UA-cam you can block comments if you wish and be mindful they are "comments" not necessarily "compliments" and no one was invited into her home she left the door wide open!
      This place looks worse on repeat viewings. I assume you are Ms. Giancoli or maybe her mother defending her retail decorating. If, as she says, she "takes cues from wherever we're living at the time" I'm wondering what those cues are? Certainly none that pertain to the fireplace.
      I'm sticking to what I said.. Hanging a uninteresting rug on the wall; it's just an uninteresting rug on a wall. Wrap rope all you want around your garbage cans? They're still garbage can! I gather she knows her way around Ikea, Target, HomeGoods and Marshall's.
