Yes, that's right, some species have scale-like leaves e.g. Cuscuta sp. and some have lobed leaves like Ipomoea batatas, Sweet Potato. There are only a few species in the UK (which this video focuses on) and they all have simple heart-shaped or arrowhead-shaped leaves, with the exception of Cuscuta.
