Back in the late 1990's, I burned out on "rock", started searching for new, more modern music. Went on WinMx (Napster alternative at the time), checked out some techno, didn't really care for it. Then I found a track "Astral Projection / Kabalah", the name/title sounded interesting to me. So I downloaded it and started playing it, and from that moment on, my life changed FOREVER! I must have played it 12 or more times back to back, had never heard music this powerful, this involving, this amazing, in all my life! So I did more searching, found the name of the group was Astral Projection, downloaded more of their songs, and that is where my eternal love of Goa trance began! It is still all I listen to to this day at 75 years old, I think it keeps me young.... LOL!

This picture makes it seem that they are the chosen ones coming to save us from the matrix. And what we are listening to is them working to free us.

Astral are my favorite they look like your alcoholic heavy metal uncle ,but their music..... I can never mistake their music for some other DJs...I swear,every single track is like a movie...
Wonder how they do it? I play different synth and jamming. But not even close to figure it out! All this classic Goa sound and rhythm. Also this music is the most effective to actually go into deep trance.
try a bass guitar! it needs some skill to finely intonate all the accents, often done with the duration of tones (which in turn requires timing and stamina), but then it becomes absolute fun to play along to psy, trance, goa, minimal, tech/house and even jungle/d'n'b. there's much room in most tracks to explore, and it is even challenging in the ways of imagination, for instance when trying to find the uttermost simple possible bassline which still carries the groove. I can only recommend!
