Here is my '71 Dodge Tradesman I purchased about a year ago. I've spent some time getting new wheels and tires, side pipes, chrome work and other things completed on this sweet ride. Check her out and take a ride with me.

Of all the things I loved about those old Street Vans back then, I think the airbrush/hand painted paint jobs were the most fun. I saw everything from Lord of the Rings motifs, to Heavy Metal, to Country and Western "High Plains Drifter" and other gunfighter stuff. What a remarkable era. Nice to see some of it coming back.
Thanks for checking out my ride. She has been a whole lot of fun since getting her last year and adding the side pipes, wheels and tires and other bits to her. I'm always smiling when sitting behind the wheel!
East Coast Classics ...i know the feeling....Vanners are a special breed...cut out of a different cloth!
yo van man your van if it has 5 lug its a half ton (the good one) they rated vans differently back then my pops had a tricked out ford that was technically a 3/4 ton but was advertised asa 1 ton?? and also either get a new wife that is a van believer or take your old lady camping and show her what those things were really for!:)
East Coast Classics where did you buy the side pipes for your van?
I am looking at 1st generation 64 vans and found a Chevy g10, and a RARE Mercury Econoline made in Canada only. Both windowless. Would u get the rare Merc?
Nice! I live in Texas, could you tell more about the window ac that is in the door?
Love those old custom vans. My dad (R.I.P.) had one when I was a kid about 13 or 14 years old. He sold when u was about 17.. I’ve been searching for it since
It's my opinion that the Dodge Tradesman (and Plymouth Voyager) is the best looking van from the 1970's! Awesome van!
I absolutely love that style of Van! What an amazing vehicle to own. When I was a young boy I can remember a lot of folks in my area had cars with side pipes and custom vans much like this one. A custom van is on my list of vehicles to own one day. 🤠
Pure beauty . Ultimate 70s dream machine
Love it! The 51st Van Nats is in MA July 10-14 in case you've still got it! The fact I'm seeing this 8yrs after posted, the wife hating it comment has me wondering if the van is still in the family. Cheers!
Sound like your wife dose not want to feel like she 18yo again ......... Nice van .
Man this is a sweet van. I am lucky, found a 79 Dodge B300 with a 360, 4bbl less than 20k, no rust. Sleeping for 20+ years under a carport. High top, long wheel base. None other I could find anywhere in US. Will be my home on wheels soon. Full restore and interior rebuild.
Loved the 'tour' of the van. I had an orange one ordered in 1971 but never took delivery as I was in the AF and was sent to Germany. Always wanted one but never took the time to follow through. Love it
I'm glad you liked the video and thanks for the comment. You know, it's never too late to start looking for one again! They are still out there and some are in pretty decent shape.
You did a good job cleaning the windshield
Shagging Wagon, if it’s rocking don’t come knocking!
That's a nice man running strong too remind me of my hippie days
Thanks for the comment and your time in commenting. This van is bad-ass and vans in general are really under appreciated. I think I was born a bit too early as I would have really enjoyed the wild parties and the whole vannin craze.
Wow that's a Kool van man! I had a 76 tradesman with 3 on the tree and all the windows. Wish I still had it. Yours looks great 👌 just needs the air brush picture on the side to get retro 😁
Your...your not even daydreaming about maybe a 360 and Tourqeflite....I would use one of those Van's on occasion, it was shorty panel.stock manifolds to cherry's with dumps.and that thing was an animal. Wicked tire smokingshriek that I made even my buddies jump back when I would "lean" it around the corner.
nice miss them 70;s van when they use to paint them up good
Thanks for checking out my video and for your comment. Yea man, that van and so many of the vans from that time were just bad ass. I'd like to get another one soon and enjoy the vanning life again. Thanks again. -Chris
1:55 that sounds real nice. I'm going to get one eventually.
My wife hates it too. Who cares what they think? It's super cool!
Happy van happy life!!!
You need a "if this van's a rockin don't come a knockin" sticker!
Barry, I like it. I did get the van 'a rockin' and it was pretty cool.
A beautiful van you have East Coast Classics keep on van-in!
nice clean understated van
Gorgeous van!
That's one Badass van ya got there
There is nothing cooler than a bad ass Dodge van. I'm glad you like this one and thanks for checking out my video.
I have always been a dodge fan and hope to one day be able to have a sweet ride like yours, but all the dodges I have or do own are work vans...lol
Awsome van brother. Building one of my own. 2000 Ford e150 convertion with queen bed in the rear and planning on side pipes like yours.
This is what cool is folks.
Thanks man for checking out the Dodge van video from years past.
wow nice van sounds good I just got mine not to long ago, looks clean as hell
Hey man, thanks for checking out my video. Got any pics or video of your van? I'm actually looking for another as I have so many ideas that I want to build into the next one. Crazy stuff like light-up disco floor, faux fir instead of shag carpet, love beads.....
Sweet Van!!!
Groovy van .... unload to great times and tell the oinkers to kiss off!!!!
esa es mi van favorita esta muy chula
Muchas gracias!
"my wife hates this van" lol
Please share info for the side pipes and flares. Thanks!
awesome! ol shorty dodge!
+Josh Holland (Capitol State Nomad) Hey, thanks for checking out my van. She's bad-ass for sure.
Cool van bro
Nice dude but mine was all black no back windows and I had tire extensions on the back !
I see the speedometer is not working? Nice van man! Enjoy Rob
Good eye on seeing that the speed-o stopped working. It started making a really loud buzzing noise and so I unplugged it from the gauge. About a week after this video I put some graphite lube on the speed-o cable, hooked it back up and she was working again. -Chris
reminds me hippie days right on
Sounds SWEET!
have a 1987 ram 250 97000 miles got the same dream i do
All Dodge vans are bad ass! They rule the van world. You got a three-quarter ton too, huh. I'm surprised by how nice they ride even with that stiff suspension. Nice and pleasant and corners pretty flat too for being a tall brick.
Needs louvers on the back windows and ace the tire on the back and replace it with a ladder on the back pass door.
Cool. My wife hate my van too.
hi again yes I do have pictures but she's still in the works literary got it a month now, since lost hrs on job she's on hold
I get it! I look forward to seeing what you've got.
How much were the wheels and tires?
I'd get in that van no candy
Haha! If a van pulled up near me that said "Free Tools" or "Free Car Parts", I'm hoping in!
Nice and Liked !!!
Awesome!
Do you still own this van?
hahahah kick ass bro I love it
+PMGaming101 Thanks for checking out my ride. I sold her this past Fall but I sure wish I had her back though. Gonna have to get another and really do her up right; shag, fur, love beads, bed, mirrored ceiling....
How much for this van today?
Beautiful :o)
Love it!
Thanks for checking out my video and for your comment. Sorry man but she's gone already. I miss her though and wish I had her back. It was a bad choice to sell.
Wow sorry to hear you sold her. But, I bet you still are having a blast with the van 😂😂😂😂
How much,? Sold for?
How much was it and I can’t believe how clean it is. And yeah they are a blast to own
Hey man, thanks for checking out my Dodge van video. I paid $6500 for the van and added the wheels and tires, side pipes and rechromed front bumper. I think I had something like $8500 total into her.
East Coast Classics That seems like a pretty good price to me it seems most that I seen wanted more money than that. You were well into your way for having a really sharp van. Unless something wasn’t showing up in video. Am sure is possible. You should’ve kept it I know I would’ve. I know what your saying about losing money on it if you kept up but sometimes you just got to enjoy life and not always worry about the money part of it. But than I know it easy for me to say.
East Coast Classics by the way I pretty much had this van growing up but it was blue with a custom paint job on it that I paid 16 hundred for the paint and that was probably 35 yrs ago than rims and many more things and their was a lot done to it when I got it and maybe 50 thousand miles on it when I sold it. For 35 hundred dollars and that was a lot at the time and yeah I lost plenty. But it was really sharp looking van all kind of looks in it. Many van rallies in it what a blast that van was. Sold it and bought a GTX with a 440 in it. And put a lot of money into it almost broke even in the car. But I must say I miss that van the day I sold it and still do. What a blast it was. A wife can make it hard thought if not into it. When it comes to cash.
What engine do you have?
Hey man having a hard time finding a dash kit online for a stereo upgrade on my 77 B100. Yours looks cool, where'd it come from?
Thanks for checking out my video. That stereo was in the van when I bought her. I probably wouldn't have installed it in the dash if it wasn't already in there. What I mean, and if I could make a recommendation, how about an overhead console instead of installing the stereo in the dash. If you don't have a radio in the dash now then you could use that hole from some gauges. If you already have a stock radio then consider an overhead console for the stereo, maybe an equalizer, some gauges, a bunch of switches and CB too. Expandable, you know. I've seen consoles made of plywood and hinged at the windshield so they pivot down. Just cover it with your favorite shag, fur, velour or whatever.

I creamed my pants
how did you do the rear sunroof? i have roof ribs on my '75
When I bought the van the two sunroofs were already installed. I presume however that when installing, they just chose an area of the roof that doesn't have the ribs in the way. Good luck with your install.
hell yeah!!
Hey, thanks for checking out my van. Dodge vans are just bad ass and they rule the van kingdom.
Hello
Any pics or video of the side pipe mount, i look for one for 76 B200-WB 109 - 360 engine
Regards
Send an email to me at hullinger@mac.com and I'll send you some pics of how the pipes were mounted.
Thx a lot, you're great
Is this for sale?
Yes, this van was for sale. Sold it already to a fella in Virginia Beach. Sold for $9200. -Chris
are the front brakes disk or drum?
Hey, thanks for checking out my video. For '71 the standard brakes would be drum on all four corners. This van was the front disc brake option and really makes a difference. With the power disc brakes, heavier suspension of the B200, air conditioning and power steering, driving this van is as easy as driving an Accord or Camry. Smooth, easy and effortless.
magnifique!!!
Whats under the hood?. Great video thanks.
Steve, thanks for your comment. That van started life with a 225, Slant 6. Some time in 1977 or 1978 the 318 was installed. The engine, I believe, was a factory replacement considering the stickers and other indicators. The transmission was from a car as it didn't have the timing hole in the bell case. The engine is bone stock with a two barrel but it did have headers. That made getting the side pipes working a bit if a job with using "U" and "L" shaped pipe pieces. Funny story, I remember timing that engine by driving down the road with the dog house off and adjustment the distributor until I found the sweet spot. It was probably 95 degrees that day but with the heat from the headers and engine it felt like 150. I was drenched within minutes but had her timed good when I was done.
Thanks
@@hullinger HA! I remember timing motors like that
my wife hates all of my vehicles except for the convertible Cobra
Gary, I'm a bit embarrassed by this van video. Another one of my first attempts that I cringe when watching. THANKS for bring back bad memories!!!
isn't a 3/4 ton a 8 lug wheel , not 5 ?
Thanks for checking out my video. I'm by no means and expert on this, but I recall only the one ton models having the 8 lug wheels. I remember this as I was looking at a one-ton van for sale and checked on wheel choices. I was surprised to learn that the number of wheel options, because of the 8 lug, becomes quite limited. Now on my van, who knows what might have been done to her in the 40 years before I got her. She did have disc brakes up front so it's possible that was modded on and the rear axle changed to match.
Tell your wife I'm sorry, But that van is beautiful. Would a mattress be put in the back there usually?. If you ever sell this I'd like to be in contact with you. Somehow.
Party van!
👍👍👍
Are you in PA or NY?
+Mike Young I'm in Delaware, Wilmington actually.
Gotcha.
if ur wife ever makes you sell it, give me a holler.
Thanks for checking out my van. I hope you enjoyed the tour and drive. - Chris
Why? Do you know how to dispose of a body?
👍
Hey, thanks for checking out my van. I hope you enjoyed the tour. If you like old cars, trucks and vans like this one then check out some of my other videos. Thanks again.
dig it" like the drive is a nice van should go to vannin.com post some pics
+1Hitmanvee Hey, thanks for the comment. Yea, I've been on Vanning.com quite a few times. Great bunch of folks over there and more collective knowledge of everything van related then you'll find anywhere in the world. Just amazing bunch of guys.
@eastcoastclassics is this still for sale? What's a number we can talk at?
+max chapoose Thanks for checking out my video and the van. Sorry but she sold this past Fall. She went to a nice gentleman and family in Virginia. Last I checked, he was digging her just as much as I did. Sure wish I had her back. Man, sellers remorse for sure.
You should’ve made videos of these van you could’ve made some money on them. And help pay for it. I know I would’ve watched.
I can't understand why your wife hates the van, but I will share this about my ex-wife.
Back when I worked for Chrysler Corporation, I purchased a 1999 Dodge Ram High Top Conversion Van 7 days after my birthday. At that time, we weren't married, but she loved the Van! We'd travel in it, go to parks with it, etc., but as a couple of years went by, I don't know what began to cause her insecurities, but my ex-wife began to make accusations of me using the van to be with other women! Had I been smart enough, I should have broken our relationship off instead of getting married a few years later, because even after I parted with the van, 2 years after she and I married, the false accusations just got worse! I'm not saying that your wife is thinking anything negative about you, I think it's just what some people tend to believe when The Devil 👿 begins to creep into the mind! My ex-wife walked away from us after I was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor in 2010 and she still insisted that I had another woman! But even after everything, when she was dating a married man early in our relationship, only her family and close friends knew what she was doing long before I found out!! My only regret about it is that I wish that I still had my Van!!! I suppose that the best thing to do is to find out why she hates the van and try to solve the problem. I wouldn't wish anyone to ever go through the mess that I went through, because once someone you love starts believing in something negative, it ruins all of the love that it takes to build a beautiful life together!
In the beginning, it was beautiful, but once I bought something for my ex and I, life slowly became an ugly mess!!! This is what happened to me. Sometimes people don't realize what they really have together! I never thought that I would be divorced, especially over something that was supposed to be for us to enjoy together. ✌️
Do that vein in very very nice one day I may
thanks man and good luck to you. These vans are a blast to own and drive and there are plenty around too. You'll have fun, no doubt. -Chris
your speedometer dosnt work.
Total chick magnet.... That's why the wife hates it.
Fix the speedo
lol Get rid of the wife.
Is it transgendered?
Wives always hate a man's toys.
yescandles hear that
That's because she wants to be the toy...
If she hates the van, time for her to leave
"My wife HATEs this van"

Im 56 and I remember those vans very well from the 70’s. I lived in Southern California right next to the 60 Freeway until 1976 and I always thought the Dodge vans were the coolest. Dig those sidepipes Man!
I think they’re Far Out! Right On!
( Those were 70’s phrases. )
Class I love the 70
Smoke weed EVERYDAY
Damn son, she sounds good and looks great too. I'm pretty sure my wife would give me the thumbs down too ha ha! Keep on truck'n! Ass Gas or Grass man, nobody rides for free.

Vannin !
Very nice van ... love the custom vans from back then ... good times!
Bro Vanner...she probably hates that you give more attention to your waggon than you do her..KEEP on vannin 😎
Hahaha. Yea man, you're probably right. Lot's of time cleaning those side pipes, rims and weirdly, vacuuming that shag!
Outta sight brotha!
Thanks for the comment and yea, she's bad ass.
Awesome van and video dude. I'm in Birmingham England and i can only dream of owning and driving such a van on those kinda sunny and big open roads. So i thank you for the video, i felt cool for 5 and a half minutes and it took me back to when i was a kid watching 70s & 80s U.S. movies & tv shows.
Ben Gilroy So glad you liked my van and a big thanks for checking out my video. It’s amazing how UA-cam brings folks together like this, regardless of where people are in the world. Again, thanks for checking her out. -Chris
East Coast Classics You're absolutely right about youtube Chris. The closest i ever got to seeing pictures of vans and van life when i was younger was finding 2 TRAVELIN' VANS magazines dated September and December 1977 in a 2nd hand bookstore back in the 90s and i still have them now and cherish them to this day.
Love it!!! I had a ‘78 Chevy shorty and traded it off, kicked myself a hundred times now that I’m older
Gorgeous on the outside.....horrible on the inside. Needs a fresh new look for sure!
I like the van, But I'd change the grill. Sweet Ride, She is sexy!
Watch the frame where the steering bolts to, mine ripped out.
I’m in the market for a classic van. The longer the better. (that’s what she said!) 😂 maybe a tandem. Where do I look?
I tend to think that the best deals on vans are from the van forums. Check out Facebook groups and different online websites. Those folks seem to sell their vans for realistic prices versus what you'll find elsewhere. Good luck!
Beautiful van!
why does your wife hate it? i think its cool.
Love those side pipes (Lakers)...I just bought a project F 150 that I'm lowering and want to put Lakers on, so
I hope I can find a kit for it.
Good luck with your F150 project. Be sure to check out Jegs dot com for those Laker pipes.
