Bob Huggins, you're one of the best all-time coaches ever. You put the University of Cincinnati on the map. You should team up with Calipari, who's heading to Arkansas. You guys will be unstoppable!!! Wish you well !!
i was friends with his daughter in cincinati…. didnt know as a kid how big of a deal he was… he would drive us to kings island amusment park and drop us off at the gate… then pick us up after a day of fun… he was just a good dad to us growing up… years later my mom said he couldnt go in cause hed be hounded by fans… cheers to you bob i hope u get ur job back
It was a very revealing comment ... If I'm an AD on the hunt for good coach, that is not what I would want to hear ... You have to come clean before you can recover ...
I don't believe that "cancel culture" is good for anybody, so I'm rooting like heck that Huggins can get healthy, stay healthy and continue to help people with his Cancer fundraising. It does bother me that he will not admit that he has a problem with alcohol. I can understand him not wanting to label himself as an "alcoholic" but he still seems to be defensive and in denial, which means there's always a chance for another incident. Not sure what school is going to take a chance on somebody who has lost two coaching jobs due to problems with alcohol. He could still do a world of good as an ambassador for cancer research, and should look to that sort of thing for his future.
Thank you to CBS Pittsburgh news outlet. I mean it says something about a news outlet releasing this story where this man broke the law and could have hurt people in your home area... Great Job,on giving us the story . The University ( WVU) leaders is so small town way of thinking they will not give him the time of day...
Strike one was in Cincinnati, and he lost that job for it. So he's already had three "public" strikes. Surely someone in rehab talked to him about what an alcoholic "is," but he seems to be clinging to his own definition (and that definition is always going to give him a loophole). Consider this. If he's not an alcoholic, then what is his excuse for that radio interview and the drunk driving...very, very drunk driving? He said he can make himself do whatever he wants to do, so it looks like either he's an alcoholic, or he wanted to do those things. Not good either way. Oh, and this sure looks like a paid "support Huggins" ad, and I'm wondering who paid for it if it really is a paid fluff piece.
you are showing little to no respect to a man that has done plenty for others and the State of West Virginia ( And school) , Something tells me you are judging Donald Trump differently....He could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose your vote but Bob Huggins / the coach at the University is held to a higher standard..... Why do you wonder who paid for the news story instead of accepting there are others who feel differently than you do? CBS Pittsburgh news outlet released a story to help locals see he is not a threat to their safety anymore by driving under the influence , the law he broke to keep others safe. in the business it's most likely called a piece of mind story.... Why the hate on Bob Huggins, I must ask?
He had his chance and blew it and he’s in denial and hasn’t learned a thing yet. Alcoholics don’t have to drink everyday and if they only get drunk twice a year they are still alcoholics. They are recovering alcoholics. He should just enjoy his later years and give up thought of coaching again as their are way to many sober qualified candidates out their.
@@michaelsheppard4227 He is refusing to admit he has a problem with alcohol. He has lost two jobs due to alcohol and had two DUI’s. He got the last one while in a university vehicle. He said he hasn’t had a drink in 300-400 days, but he was arrested for DUI less than 300 days ago. That’s a problem and a sign of alcoholism.

You look good huggs. Some of us in WV is rooting for you.
Huggins deserves another chance…. Truly hope he gets the opportunity to coach again

"I'm not an alcoholic" ...
A very, very revealing comment!
Sorta odd that this segment was so short. I'm sure he said something more interesting than "I don't think I was an alcoholic."

It's not "cancel culture" when you fire someone for drunk driving (and other offenses).

He should be too ashamed to show his face. Didn’t seem apologetic. Stay retired and leave space for newer generations.
He is sadly in denial.
How do you know he isn't telling the truth? I'm just curious.
