I purchased this blind for the 2021 season and at this point, it’ll be it’s last season. I was very excited as this was my first layout blind and had heard positive things about Rogers brand through other waterfowl hunters. As mentioned in another review, the instructions for putting this blind together are very poor. In fact, I would call them incomplete as the lack of wording and pictures leaves you guessing on how to put it together on multiple steps. For example, the knee prop bar isn’t even mentioned in the instructions. I learned that it needs to be pointed and inserted into the lower leg section of the blind before attaching into the headrest framework, otherwise you couldn’t lift it and get it under the fabric of the blind due to how tight the material is. Like others, I used other online resources to try and help put this blind together. The blind doesn’t seem built right as the connection points didn’t line up well and the black plastic jointed areas needed to be strained to fit. The ‘D’ pins are hard to insert since the joints are under strain. As previously mentioned, the knee bar that props opened the lower part of the blind was hard to lift into place, and once again, the joints were under extreme strain. Like 2 of the 3 other reviews mentioned, when going to close the doors after assembly, internal seams ripped (on both doors eventually). Lastly, I couldn’t figure out for the life of me how this thing folds into a backpack. There is no mention of this in the instructions. I figured out I could fold it in half or thirds where the back straps were present, but there were only male clips with no female clips for keeping the blind together. Lastly, while I understand this is a hunting blind and not a recliner, it’s uncomfy. The head rest is a bar that digs into your head or neck. Yes there’s a padded back but it doesn’t pad the bar itself. You can slide down further so your heads on the pad more but you’ll want to sit in both positions during the hunt. I’m 6’3” and 210 lb. FYI. Some of this may be attributed to not being set up right but as mentioned, the instructions are poor and clearly others are seeing tearing and strain due to its design. I will list the pros I experienced. This blind is warm even when below 0 degrees Fahrenheit with 20 mph winds. The blind has plenty of room but only when the knee bar can actually be propped, which doesn’t work on mine without ripping/straining fabric . The side zippers for flagging are nice. There are plenty of good sized loops for brushing in. The mesh around your face was great and flexed well. That’s about it for pros and really, these are all standard on most layouts. I’m not sure how the rest of Rogers layouts work but I would strongly suggest removing this model from your potential purchase.
Bought an elite xxl blind recently, pipes did not fit the frame, the shell holder loops were gone, and when I contacted them about it I was blown off. This after dropping an additional 500 in ammo. Roger's really let me down on their customer service and products this year.
Sorry to hear about this. That doesn't sound normal for us at all. I'm not sure who you worked with, but if the blind isn't working, we should be able to take care of it. Give our customer service team a call at 816-883-4545 and they can help you out.
