I'm so glad that your video came up at random on UA-cam's main page. I watched it several times and I read all of the comments, which are all positive. And you're attracting a lot of views. You seem to have struck a nerve. We need more videos such as this to push back on those who call $100 violins VSOs (Violin Shaped Object). I like to call people who use that expression "Very Snobby and Obnoxious" individuals. We need more teachers like you to get the word out that starting out on the violin is no longer expensive, and the quality of low cost instruments purchased online today is now better than ever before. Alison Sparrow (The Online Piano & Violin Tutor) has also been doing a good job with this. But too many others seem to spend more time complaining about what they claim to be defects (but they are not at all) and not enough time demonstrating how well such instruments play. Keep up the good work. It's time for teachers to stand back and admit that Suzuki's Twinkle Variations played by a beginner will sound pretty much the same on a $100 instrument as on a $10,000,000 Strad.
So many videos that attempt to present lower priced violins show only negative points, often foolish points. One big offender is Ray Chen who even ridicules them. In so doing he actually discourages people from taking up the violin. This video clearly shows that at $170 one can get an instrument that meets all of a beginner's needs. Indeed, to me the instrument sounds stunning. Wonderful job.
At that price point, and how well it sounds for what it is (which I know is partially because of how well you can play the violin), it kind of makes me want to get one. I’ve been wanting to learn the violin for awhile, but I don’t have the time (or money) to sink into a good beginner one and get lessons. At that price, I could probably (no pun intended) fiddle around with it and see if I’ll want to stick with it and invest in lessons later on down the line. Can’t hurt, right?
Can’t hurt! For me personally, playing violin has been the best decision of my life. Everyone’s road is different, but I would always encourage someone to try 😊
There are other comparable violin values and the bridge is already set up. It is easy to set up the bridge but not when you are first becoming familiar with a violin. It may be daunting for you. That being said there is absolutely nothing wrong with these hundred-dollar violin kits they have everything you need to begin to learn. I wouldn't get the synthetic ones though I would definitely stick with the solid wood and ebony
Congratulations on doing a proper studio quality recording using a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface unit. By doing so you clearly demonstrate the wonderful sound produced by this instrument. You also make it obvious that a $170 instrument bought over the Internet is more than enough to meet the needs of a beginner. I only wish accordions were as inexpensive.
Hi! I play guitar for like 8 years, I don't know notes, basically same to Egyptian hieroglyphs to me 🤣 .. I plan on buying a violin, I can learn to play it, just need to know.. are those fabric violins at least a bit good for playing? When it comes to sound, or are they garbage?
forget about customer service!!! even when you do send an email to the support emal address, IF/WHEN you get a reply, it will be an email w/ a fake, standardized email message inside!!! i spent $350 w/ them! itll be the last!!!
Thank you so much!!

Beautiful playing ! The violin looks good!👍👍👍
Thank you Jake!
I purchased one and am very pleased with it for a beginner violin. Thank you!

Good eye on catching the Scarlett haha! Thank you so much. I’ve never looked at accordion pricing before, but I imagine it’s not fun
To be fair you can probably make a shoe string tied to a branch sound amazing - BUT nice review and I love these types of videos. Well done!
Awww that totally made my day. Thank you Emil!
Mă întreb dacă ați auzit de superba piesă " Balada " , de Ciprian Porumbescu 🤔😊😘

As a violin maker of nearly 30 years, her Amazon purchase is the exception. The rare exception.
It really is
