    I still don't get why the option to throw their bodies in a pit wasn't there as option 3.

    This and the other side quest nearby are very dark. They show you how violent these people really are against the branded.

      It's kind of the point. As much as it mimics real life with real slavery. All that people have ignored or gloss over. As Branded are Slaves. Much like Slaves. Used until they can no longer be useful tools. Branded Bearers are used up to the point they turn to dust. Well, then again, all Bearers are automatically Branded. Though not all Branded are Bearers.

      Well in the first option they felt more fear and the dad was squirming more. Besides that clive is acting as a bearer of the dame. It's more realistic to keep pretences up because a bearer without a master would be reported and hunted by the imperials. Same reason why jill pretended to be his master before.
      It should but it seems the developers wanted to give us an option to stand up for ourselves with some pride without consequences. But Clive swallowed everything up before this so realistically it's better to swallow some more for the sake of his mission.

      ​@wasssyup yeah sometimes being wise helps pride can only get so far in life but I felt justice was served for the slain bearers slash the people who are like us trying to survive nobles are vile just like the Celestial dragons from One Piece even knows bastards to serve Fates worse than death

    My only beef with this quest, they could've made it even darker. A horror quest. Something very un-Final Fantasy-like to make it stand out.

      it's just a side quest :D Most people skip all dialog for these anyway, they are not relevant to the main story of the game. just bonus exp.

    This game has fucking horrible side content. Idk what they were thinking with these side quests. It's such a huge let down in that area. The game is so incredibly linear. And when it isn't, you're doing this shit.

      Final fantasy has always been linear. Just in the past the world map produced an illusion that it was not linear.

      @@MechEngin3er26 7 remake, and 15, the most recent games, are far LESS linear.
      Idc if final fantasy games are linear overall. But there's gotta be SOMETHING other than a straight forward walk here, cutscenes, combat, cutscenes, repeat.
      It's a huge step down in DEPTH across the board. From strategy, aren't even weaknesses, no puzzles of any sort, no true dialogue options or branching paths, no side bosses, terrible terrible side quests.
      Like you can't deny how bad the aide content is relative to other rpgs. I LOVE final fantasy. But this ain't it. This is a let down in so many ways. I love the combat. But that's about it.

      @@bobdylan1968 7 Remake was not less linear. Was by far one of the most linear games. The Side quests just didn't make it feel that way. Literally they are using the same formula as FF7 Remake on FFXVI. Multiple different hallways with expanded environments and fast travel. FFXVI is literally what would be like a modern version of FFIV if it were remade today. They were linear. It was the illusion of a world map and multiple places to visit that hid the linearness of the game. When in fact your always going to follow linearity when progressing the story. Just how it is. Its damn fine game. The lore is is very Final Fantasy. I actually look forward to an SNES Demake of FFXVI, it'll be like playing an old school FF on snes.

      @@MechEngin3er26 it is not opinion. It is blatant fact that the remake was not as linear. There are NUMEROUS meaningful side stories and content and some branching paths, few choices, optional bosses, WAYYY more depth in combat, it's more difficult, there's more variety.
      It is MORE than just map design. 16 has way less content. Way less.
      There isnt even controllable ai. No parties at all. No coordination with ai at all.
      This is nothinggggggg like final fantasy what so ever and that's a blatant fact. It shares nothing in common but chokobos.
