- A Map So Perfect For The Perma-Spike In BTD6 / Bloons TD 6 - what if we made a map so long that the perma-spike could throw out as many spikes over the maximum period of time possible per round? Here's the result while also taking into account the spike lifespan limit.

Not shown here, but the recent update added a bloon speed modifier for tracks that can go as slow as 50% speed... so expect future tests to go even further than we're already seeing lol.

One problem is, when projectiles count goes high, the frame per second won't be so pretty.
@@whatiskz1557 I don't think permaspike would get close to the amount needed to slow the game down.
just a single carpet of spikes I think would have more projectiles than the current max of a permaspike.

I feel like you could take this a little further by utilizing slows like absolute zero, super glue, and even bloon sabo's. This just lending more time for the piles to accumulate before DDT's and smaller MOABs hit, since this seems be what ends the run currently, rather than the much slower BADs, which the piles still have time to tank.
I believe the other max buff videos don't use slowdowns, so he didn't use them here

@@Barely_Edited The first few of these ISAB did had a maximum of 32 nodes, so it's unfair that he's using 48 for the ones after it. And in his pinned comment he says he'll be making use of the new 50% speed modifier in the future, making them even more unfair.
All that aside you missed my point; I think he should have been using moab glue from the very first test, meaning it would always be fair game.
iirc absolute zero doesn't work since permaspike can't pop frozen bloons

i think mortar would be a little interesting. since range is global, you could get minimal pops on other towers. i would also assume striker jones to be the best hero because of his military buff and his target focus and artillery command abilities.

Striker jones could have been a better hero since he now gives +25% permanent pierce to all towers in range. For spfac that’s basically +25% damage

If i remember correctly, striker jones has a level that grants 25%pierce to all towers in range.
Won’t it work just as well if the tower can’t build up spikes and does damage along the way? The damage is still being done and every spike will get its damage in anyways, having perks in the back just prolongs it, right?

This way it doesn’t waste spikes on stuff that is gonna die anyway like to pat, while still building up a decent pile for things that make it to the exit, and also can still focus down the BADs.
@@adamseddon2533 yeah, but isn’t the challenge to maximize the perma spike damage and lower the damage of other towers as much as possible?
Also regrows don’t even come out and you could just use a bunch of grow blocker if necessary (it’s pretty cheap)

Might be a silly or obvious question but I truly don't know.
Each individual Spike remembers the buffs it was given (think of it like a dart monkey spike ball projectile that stays on screen for a long time instead of bouncing it doesn't move). It does not matter how the buffs on the main tower change once the projectile has been launched.
Exception being Retry Last Round, Home button or a Coop Re-Sync which all reset the spikes to their default and can potentially end your run if you rely on DDT popping through Alchemist.

What about Striker’s Level 9+ permanent +25% pierce? Is it better than Fusty’s damage buff on a 10 damage tower? 50 pierce to 62.5 pierce pile would be nuts

I'm giving Bloons TD 6 a 0/10 for misleading all of us into thinking the Perma Spikes were actually permanent.
Im curious what effect (if any) adding a moab glue would have, yes it would not do anyhting to the BADs but it may make the DDTs slow enough to add a few rounds.

ISAB there is a mod in btd6 that made a god village that gives every buff like ultra boost, MIB, god temple, and all the others
you should use this so you can get a accurate pop count for the T5 tower of choice
Would Druid Lightning (220) also not be a good deregrow instead of multiple engi? Might not contribute much to the temple sack, but it's not hugely costly either.

The issue was solved by getting sun avatar anyways, so, it would be more efficient to just not spam engi or use a druid and just get sun avatar quickly.

I think striker Jones might be better as a hero, because of the recent change of giving Pierce to everyone in range.

If the spread was random, the DDTs wouldn't get through because they would hit spikes no matter what. That said, they would hit fewer spikes at once, so they could slip by if the spike pile wasn't strong enough overall.

wait what's the point of making the perma spike build up it's pile if you're trying to use it as the main DPS anyway, you should just make it constantly drop the spikes on the bloons because by building the pile you're risking the spikes despawning

You should do tests like this where only BAD damage matters, and you have towers than can clean up insides without doing too much damage. (bloon crush, glue, ect) because in late game that is ususally what counts more than ddts or zomg
