I've been here since your swole video in the very beginning, I had just met my husband when I started watching you, when I think about how much has happened and how my life has changed since I first subscribed, man it just blows my mind! I'll never stop watching!
Back then, they were treated better, the guards made a half way living wage, and probation was just a pay stub...Now, they make it almost impossible NOT TO violate...
These old prison documentaries are great. I really notice how soft and well spoken these old school dudes were. Compared to nowadays it’s a night and day difference.
Things were so much better during this time. No non-binary bull crap. Transgenderism was frowned upon. Heck even being gay was taboo. I don't what happened in 20 years but this country is on a definitive collision course with disaster and I don't think there's any way coming back from it.
I was in a max in NY. The wall jacks are TV audio and radio. And food in the SHU is the same from the mess unless you get in trouble there. Then they serve you "the loaf". Never had it but heard it was gross. It's supposedly everything on the menu that day all mixed up and baked into a loaf.
I live in upstate NY and I never knew in NY prisons or jails would allow cameras in, I know they don't allow cameras in now. Thank you for sharing this with us Josh ❤
My son just got released this past Monday out of Roederer located near LaGrange Ky. Tomorrow will mark his first full week out. He went before the parole board a year ago and was denied. They released him on his 2nd review. Good feeling having him home!!! Love your channel. Been watching your videos for a couple months now
I've seen pictures of prison as far back from the 1970s and I can tell you they still look exactly the same today. Every time I watch this channel I get mild prison flashbacks as I feel like I'm back in, sitting in a cell shooting the shit with this guy, except he's doing all the talking.
Oh hell yeah these janks are my favorite kind of videos you do. Commenting on old prison footage from back in the day. You should deff do a lot more of these. Highly enjoyable 👍🏼
Haven't missed a video in years! About 3 years ago, my friend at work was like bro you ever heard of this channel lockup? I was like 23 and 1? He said yeah! I said I've watched every video, lol. Good stuff. Love the content
Imagine being locked up with 600 other inmates that shit is crazy. Man. I still have some of the habits from jail to this day even though I only spent 6 months in. Jail and prison sticks with you and mentally it messes with you even years after.
600 inmates much better than 3,600. I've been out 14 yrs and most definitely still have certain habits from doing time. It was a time and a memory that will never go away. Stay Out!
You sure do know how to brighten someones day. I really needed to watch this video. I am having problems with the car and bills. Life is really getting to me right now and I really needed the entertainment.
Definitely a Relief hearing them doors pop. Specially when you do 8 months in solitude and get back to GP… and 18:25, was that a crushed velvet bed comforter? 😂
I did some digging & James Walls got there on 7/21/72 & was released on 6/26/83. He's now 84(if he's still alive, not sure if he is but it has his birthday as 4/30/39).
The guy that had the fruit in the cell, and that cord that was coming out of the wall? That cord was hooked to a radio. A lot of jails, and prisons in New York had a plug-in in the wall so inmates could listen to whatever music they decided to put on that day. And every day it would be a different genre of music. So those were headphones that were plugged into a headphone jack.
I did 8 1/2 years in NY. Wasnt ever in Sing Sing. Honestly some medium security prisons are worse than the maximum. Also sometimes the COs you have to watch more than fellow convicts.
I never seen a shakedown that good either anybody who's been to the chain gang know they have your whole cell messed up fr i was thinking the same thing bro😂
Watched this part 25 times no cap! you have to understand the humor and voice, in order to think this is the most hilarious thing in the world !!! “ jail sucks it limiting my abilities to grow a read and natural learning abilities”😅 hahahaha
I remember they hit my button for rec in the SHU (I said yea ) put me outside in a dog cage in the middle of winter in PA in my T shirt and boxers ,I was green, NEVER TOOK REC AGAIN LOL
the scariest looking prison in NY from the outside is Auburn. look it up they started a prison program that a lot of joints used called "the auburn way". which meant no talking at all and you only come out of your cell for chow. plus when in cell you couldn't move .
I remember when I was locked up I hated shakedowns when they would just throw stuff everywhere. Guys would get pissed off at the COs and cause everyone to get locked down.
The funny thing is there is a little park down by the main gate the over looks the yard that park was the hang out spot use to get crazy there and it’s right by a max prison which always messed wit my head…..
I believe everyone incarcerated does this to some extent, even if they're not aware of it. Especially people who have been in for a long time or in solitary confinement, you can see them retreat inside their minds and allow themselves to be lost in thought, even if they're walking laps or just sitting on their bunk. It's one of the things that freaks new inmates out the most, when they're used to constant stimulus of watching a screen or being distracted, and suddenly they are alone with their thoughts in a way that is rare in this era.

In 1914 Warden Thomas Mott Osborne arrived as a reformer. Previous to coming there he had gone undercover as an inmate in Auburn prison to see the corrupt bribing and relationships of inmates and lowly paid officers. The status quo establishment did not like him expising them and turning on its head. They tried to get rid of him politically by ruining his reputation with the state officials....but were unable to and continued his reform and shakedown.

The shake down where dude kept it all in order and had respect…we need more of that in our prisons…simple respect could go a long way these days
