  • Here is my way of making a golf ball model in Cinema 4D. I've found this way nearly ten years ago while i was making experiments about modeling tools of Cinema 4D and have made a written tutorial about it which i've shared at cgsociety forums (cgtalk) once upon a time.
There may be a lot of ways to model a golf ball in Cinema 4D but i want to show you how easily you can make your own in a minute.
Note: If you saw a Cinema 4D golf ball tutorial around the web before from someone else that shows the same technique, they probably read my written tutorial. I am writing this cause i don't want anyone think that i copied someone else's video like its my own =)
    Hope you like it.

awesome tut Ensar! how do you get that customized deformer menu on the right at time 0;47 where it has Bridge, Brush at the top and you selected Extrude?

Thank you very much Johny! Here are the steps of a way to have a customized menu:
1- Right click to anywhere on any menu and from the pop-up menu choose "New Palette"
2- From the top menu, go to Window>>Customization and choose "Customize Commands"
3- In the Name Filter area write the name of the command that you want to add, then drag-drop that command from the list over to the new empty palette that you got on the first step.
4- After you add all the commands that you want, right click to the new palette and activate Show>>Text if you want text visible near the icons
5- Also if you want it to be a vertical menu, right click again and choose "Change Orientation".
6- Drag this new palette (drag from the dots under the "Palette" label) and drop over anywhere on your interface. While you do that a grey line will guide you how and where the menu will be dropped when you released your mouse button.
7- If you are satisfied with the new look of your interface, save it with Window>>Customization>>Save as Startup Layout.
8- Also if you want to save it to a backup folder, you can save it again by clicking "Save Layout as.."
I hope this mini tut helps =)
