"Unfortunately, in present day society in the name of suddha-bhakti various types of mixed devotion such as karma-mishra (mixed with fruitive action), jnana-mishra (mixed with speculative knowledge) and yoga-mishra (mixed with various types of yoga processes) as well as various polluted and imaginary conceptions are spreading everywhere like germs of plague. People in general consider these polluted and mixed conceptions to be bhakti, respect them as such, and thus remain deprived of suddha-bhakti. These polluted and mixed concepts are our greatest enemies. Some people say that there is no value in bhakti, that God is an imaginary sentiment only, that man has merely created the image of a God in his imagination, and that bhakti is just a diseased state of consciousness which cannot benefit us in any way. These types of people, though opposed to bhakti, cannot do much harm to us because we can easily recognize them and avoid them. But those who propagate that bhagavad-bhakti is the highest dharma yet behave against the principles of suddha-bhakti and also instruct others against the principles of suddha-bhakti can be especially harmful to us. In the name of bhakti they instruct us against the actual principles of bhakti and ultimately lead us onto a path which is totally opposed to bhagavad-bhakti. But the same friend share so called motivational speech of Gaur Gopal with me. I sometimes wonder what do they think when see that on one hand I am trying to talk about how material world is a place of suffering to them and they know about ISKCON and on the other hand they are also watching videos of same ISKCON devotees giving talks on how to improve their material life.
@Pooja Agarwal Gaur Gopal das is a Mayavadi/neo-Mayavadi impersonalist, who preaches to people some petty, shallow, light, vague ideas of love, compassion, "do not react, but just respond" hodgepodge, mumbo jumbo impersonal ideas. In this way he heavily misleads tones of (predominantly) newcomers and thus destroying Śrila Prabhupada's movement and his mission. There are plenty of such motivational speakers like Gaur Gopal das and his "Change must come from within", as well as many similar ones. These neo-Mayavadis impersonalists, in the disguise of devotees, are very dangerous, as they actually attempt to finally destroy Śrila Prabhupada's teachings/movement and thoroughly eliminate the existence of Pure Bhakti on the Earth.
Śrila Prabhupada: "Similarly, the impersonalist, for the time being they may think that they have Brahman realization, but because by nature he wants association, without getting association of the Supreme Lord he has to come back to make association with this nonsense. And this is practically we have seen. Many sannyāsī: brahma satyaṁ jagan mithyā, "Brahman is truth and the world is false." They take sannyāsa, and after some time they come to the hospital opening business. They come down again to politics, hospitals, philanthropy, welfare work. Why? If brahma satyaṁ jagan mithyā, if this whole world is false, why you are taking this hospital business? Because there is no place. He has no engagement, and he wants association. He wants to render some service, but there is no service to Kṛṣṇa. He comes to give service to the nonsense māyā. So āruhya kṛcchreṇa paraṁ padam (SB 10.2.32). After accepting sannyāsa and all this renunciation, because he has no shelter to render service to the Supreme Lord, he comes down to render service to this nonsense, which he left. Mithyā, it is false. He again comes to the false. I have seen one sannyāsī in India, very learned, very good scholar. Now he's rotting in the jail. He has taken to political movement. He wants to make . . . nullify this Pakistan and so many things. Now he has become a politician. Vivekananda came here to preach in 1893 to Vedānta. Now he learned the business of opening hospital. If you have taken sannyāsa, that brahma satyaṁ jagan mithyā, "The world is false; Brahman is reality," then why you come to the false platform again? He has to, because he has no information of the reality.
