Very danger and brave from pilots they are cascaders in air ..woow !This is a runway as long aircraft carrier..!? 🤔😲🙄 Thx for sharing video! Best regards from Canada🍁😜😲👌🍷💕🍁
Must be one of the prettiest airports ! Landings are hairy ,you can see the aircrafts really plunging to meet the small strip . Runway has pronounced slope - downhill for takeoffs and uphill for landings to help bring the aircraft to a halt with reverse propping . With the restrictions of nature doesn't look like jet operations will ever be possible .With mountains all around any winds will result in tricky shears.Only for pilots with top ratings . Every landing will really bring the heart to the mouth of the crew and the passengers .

These guys certainly do a great job. The best part I think, after a hairy Landing they pull into that lot like they're pulling their Chevy into a mall. No big deal everybody knows their job and does it well.
I think that to landing is more difficult than taking off, considering both as challenging maneouvres anyway into this airport. Take off depends exactly on the power and reliability of the engines and know the exit route, but descend in a short space between the mountains and point to the track at the exact point of its beginning to have the necessary distance to slow down and stop in the reduced space for passenger taking is simply a feat, it is like a static aircraft carrier but without braking nets. And I don't want to imagine doing this in a day with more complicated weather like crosswind, fog or precipitation.
I am a frequent flyer to Lukla, but impressed by your reality video. I remember the days we landed on gravel with Twin Otters or Pilatus Porter...great
It's the gateway to the mt Everest, the highest mountain in the world. It attracts hundreds of thousands of adventure loving people around the globe but its perfect for those who are brave and a bit mad.

Field elevation: 9,334'. Runway length only 1,729'. If you fly into even a small airport in say, Colorado, at about half the altitude the runway is likely to be 5 times longer due to the "thin" air. Think about that one for a moment as you watch this video. Nice video share, guys.
phapnui I would hope not. They do have to deal with frequent rain and high wind conditions, though. This video looked like a perfect day for these pilots. I'm sure they appreciate it.

Yes to make up for the small runway.
It’s actually built on the side of the mountain
The winds off the face of the mountains must play a huge role during take off and landing.

Landing is always difficult than taking off. Plus there is no second life on this runway. Do or die.
I don't think a light crosswind or precipitation would bother them but there's NO WAY I'd fly into or out in fog.
