    Crazy how that dude almost dying at 5:25 was so chill about his mistake, and respect to the dash driver for immediately asking if he was okay. Awesome interaction after an almost deadly but honest mistake.

      He had his indicator on, however he was sat at that green light for at least 4 seconds, if not longer judging by the cars turning right (their light would’ve likely changed at the same time at the truck’s) and both the cam car and car in front changing lanes around the truck, so it’s plausible that they thought he was going straight and had left his indicator on. Yes the car should’ve legally waited for the truck, however how long should they have sat there waiting for him to move? Between sitting at the lights and not noticing the car there despite going at a snails pace, it wasn’t the finest display of driving from old mate in the truck either.

    0:53 Dollies aren't supposed to be braked when being ferried for this exact reason - someone should've told him to only connect the brake release hose.
    Technically the car at 7:55 is at fault as trucks are allowed to do that, however it seems it might have been the better choice if the semi was a bit more to the left of the lane straddling the centre of the lane at least a bit, perhaps with the prime mover turned in the direction he was intending to turn. It gives a visual que to motorists in case they didn't notice the indicators.

      Yeah in over 30 years of driving in WA I've never once seen a semi truck turn left at lights from the right lane. Every now and then you see one that's half in one lane and half in the other, which makes it impossible for anyone to try and sneak past. It seems like a much better option, because who needs the aggravation even if you're in the right.

      I've often thought that I would jump in that situation, try to land on the bonnet. I have no idea whether I would actually try, or whether I would succeed. The only precedent I have is that I do do a good evasive maneuver when I drop a knife. So maybe I'd do something vaguely sensible.

      @MeppyMan 9 місяців тому +1

      @@DKofDAHno law to say you have to help as a bystander or witness. But if you cause, or are even just involved in, an accident, you do have to stop and check on the other driver etc. the very least you have to call emergency services if someone is injured.
