I just found out that my Dad's best friend played this song for him a few days before my dad died unexpectedly. I'm not sure if my Dad was truly a believer. He was passionate about God but usually explaining how we need to be good enough and be righteous enough to deserve his love. My Dad's friend says my dad broke down when he heard this song and repented for his sins. I have hope that my Dad may have finally understood that we bring nothing to the table except our sin. I hope I see him in Heaven. Either way, may the name of the Lord be praised.
That fact that your Dad was concerned about not being “good enough” shows his respect for the Lord. The good news is God knew his heart and he was always good enough. Sorry for your loss. I’m glad he had such a good friend.
