The guy had a billionaire mindset before he even touched a million, go back to his very first album and listen carefully, "if everyone in your clique is rich your clique is rugged, nobody will fall because everyone will be each other's clutches" then people act surprised when people who are close to Hov get rich, he's been spitting this knowledge since day one, and from the minute I started listening to him I just knew he's the GOAT, that's 15 years ago now and since then nobody ever came close to dethroning him.

It depends on how you look at lyrical ability. Jigga is better with the rhyme patterns and double and triple entendres. Nas on the other hand actually has something to say in his bars which Jigga often lacks. I prefer Nas but both are amazing artists

Jay-Z is definitely one of the goats undeniably. He's got some Platinum hits. But offset, right now is kind of kissing his ass. Making it sound like he he better than what he is. I'm not saying he ain't a good rapper. But not all of his albums went platinum. Just like not all of them and Eminem's we're Platinum. But the most inspirational rapper of all time will always be Tupac. Jay z is a very lyrical rapper, but he does borrow from other rappers. So some people throw a lot of hate on this man. And I can't say that a few of his songs wouldn't get hit with that copyright. But weird Al and others did this to make comedy music. So I ain't got any issues with it. Biggie would definitely go second and then rakem.. Now no one can argue with his successful business.

Illmatic is great but Nas had a huge career decline post-90s. Ye is an amazing artist but not even close to top 10 rapper. Fact of the matter is Jay has straddled so many different generations and still managed to put out radio hits despite him being an amazing technical rapper. He’s the GOAT

Jay has had some “dud albums” but not as many as Nas. Nas has 3 classic albums… “Illmatic”, “It Was Written” & “Stillmatic” with (Life Is Good and Kings Disease l & ll being NEARLY classics)
