Failure- great stuff!! It never ceases to amaze me the ingenuity of farmers. Give them a problem, and they will figure out a solution. It’s part of what made this country great. Cyrus McCormack, Henry ford, the Keller brothers (Bobcat)- the list goes on and on….
@@FailureatRetirement I admire you Failure. You could just be sitting back and doing nothing- worrying about your lawn, cleaning gutters and playing golf. NOT OLD FAILURE!! Starting your second job- Farming- with a vengeance!! Same at Repp Farms. I get you….
@@reppfarms4493 People tell me all the time that my lawn is amazing 😂 My body is too ravaged for golf, wrist fracture in 2018 sealed the deal on that. Fishing has always bored me. I really do need to be doing something, it’s just that I’m not on a schedule anymore. I actually started farming 300 acres on my own in 2008 while working a job. The company I worked for was nearly broke and laid me off in 2010. I leased another ranch and never looked back. Sold most of it in 2015 and started other businesses. Just told my son yesterday that this will be my last year farming.
I started delivering my hay with my pick-up truck. I then borrowed a friends 14 ft flatbed trailer and made my deliveries that way. Next, I upgraded to a 24 ft gooseneck but was still using hayhooks. About 11 years ago, I bought a used F-650 with a Hauser Built bed. In 2019, I bought a Freightliner M2 112 and transferred the bed to the new truck. Now I have the Hauser Built trailer and can deliver 2 stacks at a time. From my experience, the Hauser Built is the most versatile and the best built retriever bed out there. The Stull bed is an incredible piece of engineering but I cant justify $215,000 installed in my truck. I can buy 6 Hauser Build beds for the price of one Stull.
The kid that owns this is supposed to be upgrading it this winter but I haven’t talked to him recently. I’ve never run a retriever myself but it’s been my observation that Hauser appears to be the best one around. Thanks for watching 👍🏼🇺🇸
In the early 2000's I used to run a Haying Mantis truck. It was for large squares. It would drop and pick similarly. It would actually pick them up in the field as well. I don't believe the company that manufactured them are in business anymore. Hydraulic power is a wonderful gift when it comes to reducing labor. I have a New Holland 1010 bale wagon for my operation. Haven't used it yet. Looking forward to it though. Cheers.
I think that Freeman made a similar product at one point. I’ve seen several of them over the years. If you haven’t already you should watch my videos on the H9880 bale wagon. Thanks for the comment!
No, it’s actually an old New Holland product. I don’t think they make them anymore but there are a few other manufacturers that do. Thanks for watching!
