Watching your old stuff. I’m in the hunt for new irons. Ping is in the running.
Nice one Michael 👍🏼 now you have to compare these Ping Blueprints to your new Wilson Staff blades. When can we expect to see that comparison?
Really enjoy the on course reviews. Please add more! Love the content!!!
What a great on course review, this helps share so much more information about the clubs. Thanks for all your hard work and displaying of your skills.
Great vlog & very nice to see you in the action on the course! Well done - thanks!
Really enjoyed watching you actually play.
Great video Mike! Loved that you did this follow-up after the in-studio test, thanks!
Love the review and the fact that you made the point about the control for shots near the green. I've just swapped to an old set of forged irons and they are so much better than cast clubs for pitch shots and chip shots. Nice to see you acknowledge the golf club for sharing their facility. Not always done by You Tube pros .
Its about time we see you playing on the course... Keep them coming!!
Really like your reviews. To the point and and full of information.
I commented already, but now have gone to the pro shop and hit half a bucket of balls. They hit so smooth with a soft feel. I was hitting black dots and i normally hit blades with blue dot so my shots were fading just a bit, but they were flying a great distance fo rme. I think they are a club longer than my blades. If I can find some loose change laying around I will own a set.
GREAT to see you on the course 👏👏👍 👍
It figures the G410 head would escape you as you left the shop... it just became another On Course Review.
I love the course test Michael, great content and talking through the thinking
very nice Michael... you are some golfer! great irons very pretty and some pretty shots to match thank you very much for your much valuable insight
Blueprint vs your Wilsons? Which is your choice now?
That certainly backed-up your dry data figures Michael. Good striking. I will definitely try out the Blueprints (stunning looks btw) in the near future. I've been playing only Ping irons since the late 80's.
The quandary I have is I'm playing the 2nd edition of the Anser series from 2014, which are forgiving and a larger head size with Project X 6.0 shaft. Love the feel of this forged iron obviously. I'm just not quite sure the smaller head size would benefit me. Currently playing off 4. A few years back I gave the S55's a try with DGS 300 shafts, and my game went downhill. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers, Mike.
Great go see them on the course!
Two weeks till my Ping demo day let’s see if they tempt me!
I see a common thread with these Blueprint demos. You tell us how difficult they are to hit, but most of you play very well with them. It could be the look of the club at setup is making you guys hit them well. You did a great job. Thank you!
I play these pw-6 and when you hit it pure theres nothing better lol
Fantastic video of the blueprint ping irons. What made you special was you playing at a golf course.
Excellent video. I think those are the most beautiful irons I’ve ever seen. They are pricey.
Great review. Makes me want to put them in the bag.
If only I was 30 years younger.............at age 65 I can only dream of having the swing speed to play these. Beautiful review and clubs!
I have got to get my hands on these for a test
Love the on course testing.
swing looking today Michael! great video
I've just been lent a 7-iron Blueprint to try out on the course today. I'm a mid-handicap player, average score being around 88 on par 72 courses. I play PING G irons currently and I'm looking for more control and LESS distance, if you can believe that. My G irons are too hot so I have to swing 3/4 quite a bit which doesn't feel natural, and I have distance gaps at the bottom of my bag.
Anyway, that Blueprint it sensationnal. It really opened my eyes to how a golf club should feel like. I struck it pretty well and I didn't find the smallness of the club offputing at all. You need to have the confidence to know that you'll hit the middle of the club face and you'll be fine. Looking to get a set now, PW up to 7-iron and 6-iron up to 4-iron in the i210, which for me, work better than i500 as a missmatch set.
Go and try one if you can. Seriously, these irons are my revelation this season. We don't play 12 months a year where I live but I can see my scores dropping a little bit soon, maybe reduce the spread on those second shots into the green.
Really enjoyed the on course review. With genuine feedback on each shot played with the Ping Blueprint. They sound soft too, will definitely test these when I replace the old Mizuno blades.
Great to see you out on the Course. These would look fantastic in my bag...unfortunately they wouldnt look nearly as good in my hands...swinging...oh well...
Nice ! In the bag ! next video @PING Gainsborough for proper fitting of details :)
You played them really well, dont know how i would go with them.
Nice review, now I want to hit these.
Loved this!! Do a head to head with your new Wilsons??
Great Video Michael.
€1800 - at twice the price of a set of MP18 unfortunately I’ll have to pass but could see how the desirability factor will sell these. Pity...
Great striking!
Great video. I got the Iblades when they 1st came out and been waiting for these to release finally. I have a fit schedule 5/30 next week. Love the grips on these too stock. I’m a 8 handicap. Love the feel of blades. Testing different ones but waiting on Pings Bluprints. Thanks for the outdoor testing👍
I’ve hit both 243 and blueprint s. The 243 had my shaft ping didn’t loved the 243 as it felt better to swing but results were damn near equal thinking if my shaft in ping the would edge out. Your thoughts on them 2 clubs.
Bet I can guess who wants new irons. Great video.
Just hit these today at Roger Dunn and they were fantastic. Definitely nothing like I've ever felt from Ping. Hit them only slightly shorter then the Apex Pro and that was probably due to loft. Great clubs.
Never heard of Ping Blueprint Irons. They look really cool. You do well with them Michael! Great review ! To me Ping is a simply an awesome company. They cater to various levels of players. These irons are obviously aimed at the more accomplished player. Spider Dubiel
Fantastic feel I agree Michael ! I’m off 13 and I was seduced into ordering 789 and wedge. I hit the trial 7 iron really well so 89 and wedge should be ok for me. Not sure about anything longer but I’m going to try one day. Can I have your swing for Christmas please lol.
You better get yourself a Wilson or a Ping bag you could games these easy!
Cheers from NorCal Michael
Like the on course reviews. HoweverI don't think you need the generic pop music it's the same stuff many other UA-cam golfers use
Irons are beautiful. I wish I was a good enough ballstriker to play them.
Blades are lovely but they require two things: A player with the skill level to make the better strikes more consistently; and 2) A player with adequate swing speed (probably 105 mph and greater with a driver). Otherwise, the player will be struggling to fill the gaps between the longest iron and his fairway woods. Also, without the clubhead speed and resulting distance, the player will not be a able to reach the longer par 3s with an iron, forcing him to use a rescue club. For some that is fine but others struggle with such clubs.
Love your videos and your swing! One thing: please try and reduce the volume jumps. It’s great to create some emotions with the music coming in louder, but the difference in loudness between speech and music is too big. Thanks for considering this. I’m a sound engineer, can’t help it ;).
thanks for your feedback and advice......
Also, time for a Wilson bag 😂
So will you do a head to head with your new Wilson irons and the blueprints?
Nice vid. Thanks. Have a question. I'm about to buy a new set this year. I love blades and I want to have a mixed set. So,,,, my question. Wilson blades, Taylor Made (TW), Titleist or Callaway? Probably blades from 5-6(7) and the rest more forgiving club's, like Callaway Apex tour or so.
All very good blades, there’s no real bad one. I personally favour the Wilson’s, but you’d need to test them yourself.
For anyone interested in just how much smaller the head is on the PING Blueprint vs. Mizuno MP20, Titleist blade, all other blades, etc. ... I was curious so I just went down to my local Club Champion fitting location and compared them all to the PING. The PING is maybe smaller overall by a millimeter in all directions. So it is negligible. I held them all side by side to the PING and in reality they all, even the PING, seem to have the same amount of surface area on the face. The toe of the PING is slightly more squared off toward the topline and it gives the impression that the toe to heel length is shorter than all the rest but I am guessing that if one measured from the back of the hosel at a right angle to the end of the toe it would be very close if not exactly the same length as all the others. Currently produced blades are significantly larger than blades of even the late 1980's and early 1990's. For example, if you compare any currently produced blades from any manufacturer, even Miura (they had a Miura MB 101 on the shelf so I made the same comparison), to a Ben Hogan Apex "Redline" model from 1988 or even the Apex "Redline Forged" model from 1992 (I have a set of each) the Hogan's heads are significantly smaller and easier to swing. I also have a set of Mizuno MP 14's and the 1-iron in that set is about the same size as the Hogan Apex "Redlines" (both models) and maybe even a tad smaller. I can guess why manufacturers have gradually made this change but in my opinion it is too bad for players that can notice the difference. The smaller headed, original blades of years gone by are much easier to maneuver. I also have a set of Bridgestone J15 MB irons and I would venture to guess that these are the smallest contemporary blades that have been produced in the last 30 years. I bought mine in 2015 and I think this might have been the last year that they made them. One more note on the Miura MB 101. This may be the shortest of all the current blades if one is measuring 90 degrees from the back of the hosel to the end of the toe but the problem with the Miura is that it is too high when measuring from the sole to the topline. I think this is what creates an optical illusion that gives one the impression that the length of the club is short. Again, by the looks of it even the MB 101 has the same face surface area as all the rest of the current blade models. I would like to see how small the Miura "Baby Blades" are compared to current model blades. I did a search to see if they are discontinued for good and found this post at golfwrx from August 1, 2021: "I'd sent a note to Miura asking about BB's. They told me they expect them to be on a 3 year release cycle. Though a firm date for next release not yet determined, but they are not discontinued." If I can find a set on eBay at a reasonable (hold your laughter, please.) I may pick them up but that will probably never happen.
So, the Big question is Mike, are they replacing your Wilsons?
The Blueprint Irons look stunning and I wish that my Ball striking was good enough to game them, but sadly there is no way that they would find their way into my Bag.
PS Good to see you out on the course at Morecambe (I always find 17 & 18 tough finishing holes when you are tired).
They won't be finding my bag either Bandit. What did find my bag is a set of Ping G-410 Hybrids #3,# 4, # 5 and # 6.
@@josephdubiel7129 Good choice, why make the game hard than it needs to be. You beat me on the hybrid count currently, I'm gaming 3 and start my Irons with a 7 Iron
@@banditbaker1675 Good idea. The lower irons are tough. What 3 hybrids do you have Bandit? Wish you lived in Ct. Would love to tee it up with ya. Spider
@@josephdubiel7129My driver is a PXG Gen2 0811 XF, then a PXG hybrid set at 15deg which I use instead of a fairway wood, a PXG hybrid set at 22 deg which I use instead of my long Irons and then an old Ping hybrid at 27deg which I have instead of my 6 Iron. I then have Wilson 7, 8, 9 & PW Irons. I'm having a Wedge & Putter Fitting next month, so will possibly end up with either the PING Glide 2 or Cleveland CBX Wedges and an EvnRoll Putter.
I have a nephew who lives in Long Island and my wife has always wanted to visit New England in the Fall, so who knows we may get a game one day. Though at 67 I don't know how many days I have left to play lol
Spider & the Bandit, sounds way better than Smokey & the Bandit🤣🏌️♂️💥⛳👍
Love the on course reviews, and you are certainly striking the Ping Blueprint irons well. Could they possibly be a future candidate for your bag?
Hmmmm do like my Wilson’s tho
Any info on lofts please Michael? Sorry if you’ve mentioned it and I’ve missed it
7 iron is 34*, full lofts of all Irons is on my full review video I posted last week 👍
@@MichaelNewtonGolf Thanks Michael, when I found the earlier video I did see that you'd given the lofts. Whilst not quite 'traditional' perhaps more 'modern' lofts with out being crazy! PS: Loving my Srixon Z-Forged more!
Great review! Does it feel better than a mizuno JPX Tour ?
As good as
Will you put these in your bag or are you keeping your blades ?
Wilson’s staying
Great vlog
This is typical ping. They rarely ever release something that is not exactly what they want. The last few ping irons have really looked good. I like them. I am a 8 handicap. I would like a blended set.
I think you should use that driver all the time :)
They look good but for me I prefer the jox 919 tour I am playing. Stunning to look at and even better when struck :)
Oh, and give us a full rundown on how to swing it like you! Such effortless power :)
So you have hit the new Wilson blade and/ or Ping blue print? Or you're just saying you prefer the look of your irons?
@@MXJEFF94 Ye the wilson on their demo day and our local shop got the blueprint to prep for custom fitting. They are all pretty much the same in performance (for me), comes down to look. They all feel the same as well. I just like the look of the mizuno more
New follower these look great not sure i could use them or not would love a testing though👍
Thanks for watching
You should do an on course with the new srixon z forged irons
The Ping Blueprint irons are lovely. Please smash that subscribe button and like all my social media channels. The end!
Wow Mr. Warmwater, it would appear we can expect a detailed video soon? Carry on mate.......
If I could figure out how to turn that into 8 minutes of boring video, I would.
All these club shillers pushing the blueprint. A year from now I might consider buying a set of them on the market from people that think they can hit them after watching these sales videos and realize they can't.
Thank you! 😄
The music makes me crave a Pina colada. The video makes me want blades.
Perfect on both counts 😂
Put 'em in the bag. Time to Ebay the Wilsons...LOL
😂
These sound awesome, but at that price, they can stay in the shop. 😕👍⛳
What's your background music in this video, Michael? I'm enjoying the music you've been using in your videos lately. The song you used in your Staff blades review (ua-cam.com/video/n9y8CRBYZbU/v-deo.html) set me off on a chase to find out who that was. This time, I thought I'd just ask. Thanks for reviews and the cool music!
Music I use is from Epidemic Sounds Online
@@MichaelNewtonGolf Thanks!
Looks like these are your new gamers?
You hit these well Mike. Can’t remember if these Blueprints are forged. I know the i500 are. Ping is still a very popular make but not forgiving enough for my game at the moment 👍🏻😁👍🏻
Yes these Blueprints are 100% Forged, the i500 have forged face but main body of the head isn’t. 👍
I'd pay a lot more than the price of those irons if I could buy your golf swing, or just your rythm.
As soft as mizuno?
Yeh
I find it interesting that you wear a glove when you're on a course and never wear a glove testing clubs in studio. Why is that ?
Just habit to be honest
Please all youtubers, please look at your audio waveform peaks before uploading. Music SO loud! 😦
Good vid otherwise 👍
music is too loud. Voice too quiet.
