      Can you help me, Isaiah? I'm 5'6",140 lbs, 15 years old. My legs are big and strong from years of swimming, weights, running, basketball, cycling, and just running around. I feel like I'm not getting the most out of my muscle. Please help and THANK YOU!!! in advance.

    Hello great video I've been working on getting my vert up and going through your videos but one of my biggest issues right now is that I keep almost rolling my ankle on my takeoff step and after when I land do you have any videos on landing safely and also maybe shoes recommendations for dunk training in general thanks!

    You think Olympic lifts will help me on jumping from my other plants. Like my left right vert is prolly 36” and my standing 32” and then my jumps off any other plant is prolly like 28”. My one foot is ass and right left I can’t touch rim

  • @Transcendental1112
    @Transcendental1112 Місяць тому

    Hey fellas! What does it mean when I can jump almost as high as my standing vert by just using my calves and feet? I feel like I should be jumping much higher than I am currently. Somewhere, I am leaking energy. My RFD has always been good and I’ve increased my strength a lot over the past year. Bear in mind, I used to be able to jump 30-34” without lifting any weights by just hooping. Any advice? I’m 5’9” with somewhat long limbs and 155-160 lbs.

  • @paulleclaire8252
    @paulleclaire8252 Місяць тому

    The bummer is a lot of hoopers hate to lift and also look for any excuse to not do the tired and true barbell exercises. They will try to default to some weird bosuo ball thing

  • @MrGunhoe
    @MrGunhoe Місяць тому

    Dunking a ball and lifting a load on barbell isn’t the exact same task but going from full flexion to full extension with a barbell say a snatch yeah it’s a lot like dunking except the landing or falling safely after dunking part that’s sport specific

  • @damanimc
    @damanimc Місяць тому

    Since you guys mentioned impulse in a previous video. What are your thoughts on using full cleans because they produce higher impulse than power cleans. Most people justify power cleans over cleans for power but power isnt the driver of jumping or weightlifting performance as you discussed. I think the power position in the catch and the sudden eccentric loading can be beneficial but thats my only intuition on why a power clean could be more beneficial if you are able to do both.

    • @adonvictus
      @adonvictus Місяць тому

      Benefit of power clean over full clean is that it's less technical. It's the same reason for why clean over snatch even though the snatch is arguably better for training impulse. When you're dealing with an athlete does not want to spend the time to learn the full lifts, power clean is the best option (in the context of jumping higher).

    • @MrGunhoe
      @MrGunhoe Місяць тому

      Power cleans are done lighter then full and it’s sometimes to focus on just the pulling and leaving the rest of the full lift out they also do front squats to focus on the catching but both are good for overall strength and positioning

  • @NathanGeorgeDunks
    @NathanGeorgeDunks Місяць тому +1

    Facts, let the bar hit you on power cleans, yesterday I got lower than I needed to on a catch and it smashed me in the throat rather than the shoulders but I’ve done so many it didn’t even bother me lol, my neck/shoulders are red after every session

    BUT the million dollar question is does something else makes the jumps and the oly lifts go up? I think so.
    It's hard to know what was the driver but it seems some guy (Isaiah) can literally do what ever he wan't and make gains.

      Deload as well, it's super important to take a week's break. You might find that your vertical is significantly better after that. Also get ENTIRELY warmed up before trying max verts. It really helps.

    A Pale Horse or a Black Horse. Skinny Rider with a 10 gallon. Protecting lateral movement is key because that body becomes slower laterally when it incur heavier weights. Lineman in football is the prime example... The Baseball Season also pacifies time where wagering has vestments, and it does take 1.3 seconds for light to defect off the moon and shine on the Earth. Do you know Selena and Ariana...💌🏀💯🔭🌟🙏😇🤔🤩👍🏽

Btw I’ve been watching more and more of ur content and I haven’t seen any mention of the idea of ASSISTED resistance band (not resisted). As in using the bands to make u “lighter” pulling u up instead of down. Dyu use that?
