For sure check out the version from the Pepsi Center! Actually the entire concert is unbelievable! Start with song #1 “Disciple” & just go down the list, the energy in that building is insane! ⚡️🤘
Hi Mercy, you mentioned burn out. The Warning have a fun music video about Burn Out. Their sense of humor show what they would like to do in case of ‘burn out’. Check the live version of Choke at the Pepsi Center. The song rises to another epic level!
One of their most popular songs. The band seems quite well grounded and seems to understand the realities of the industry. So hopefully there won't be burnout anytime soon. Their 2023 Pepsi Center concert is pure fire and well worth a watch (all 23 songs) 🤟🎸🥁🎸🤟
You have just watched the prologue to the Queen of the Murder Scene story by the Villarreal Vélez sisters Daniela (Dani, then 18, guitar, lead vocals and piano), Paulina (Pau, then 16, drums, piano, lead and backing vocals) and Alejandra (Ale, then 13, bass, backing vocals and piano). The prologue is followed by four chapters of three songs, telling the story of a girl turning from unrequited love through obsession, stalking, murder, schizophenia to madness. This concert was the first time they performed the complete album live and is the best show to follow the story. However, the prologue and the chapters are seperated by songs from their first album.
You have posted this comment on her reaction to Choke. I am guessing you meant to leave it on her reaction to Dust To Dust.
@GreatOutdoors1 Indeed, my bad. I was typing this reaction but when I finished UA-cam had already gone to yhe next video. Thanks for mentioning it...
This song was recorded in 2020 and released in 2021 as the first single off The Warning's EP MAYDAY, which contained 6 tracks that would later be part of their 2022 album ERROR. It dives into the crushing weight of overwhelming emotions. The protagonist doesn't seek escape but instead surrenders to the pain, asking to "let me drown" as a way of relinquishing the struggle. According to Pau, it's about being so consumed by feelings that you start to choke on them, offering the song as a space for listeners to feel comforted in their own struggles. Dany added that the music reflects the tension and struggle expressed in the lyrics, with every riff emphasizing that emotional battle. The song is a poignant depiction of hopelessness and emotional surrender.
Thank you so much for the insight
They did 100% of the writing on this album. Their latest album Keep Me Fed they collaborated with a few different writers. It is a really good album you should check out Six Feet Deep, or Sharks is one of my favorite! Dark lyrics and heavier sound. Thank you I really enjoy your reactions and how real you are. Down to earth and honest. What kind of person I would love to chill with. Or party with!! 😁♥️👊🏻☀️
Thanks for the info!
Thank you for the reply!! I hope you have a wonderful week!! Much love from Denver Colorado! 🌄♥️☀️😊
She already has reactions to Six Feet Deep and Sharks on her channel.
@GreatOutdoors1 thanks for letting me know that. I'm subscribed to her so I thought I would have been notified when those came out. I should have looked through her videography. Thanks again 👍🏻
@@justinvasquez5280 It was no problem.
This is really epic Live... This is one of the Best Rock Trio's ever.. 🌎✌️
I hope to see them live one day.
2020... Ale just had dental surgery before making this video and looks zombified. Pau and Dany are on fire. The Pepsi Center version is MUCH stronger. OMG the whole Pepsi Center 10/28/2023 concert of 23 songs is amazing. It is FULL of energy - and surprises. The song itself is about drowning in your emotions to process them. Pau generally writes the lyrics, starts a song on piano, then collaborates with her sisters to finish them. Ale and Dany have written several of their songs, though. For the Keep Me Fed album, the band sought some outside collaboration, although they had final say about what was in the songs. They are working with Lava Records, with Jason Flom and Devon O'Connor, who love what they do and let them do it. If you haven't seen their 2017 TEDx at the University of Nevada, you need to hear them talk about their journey and their vision. It's inspirational!

Yes, the live versions are great - they feature a short bit where Ale sings -- the Teatro Metropolitan or Pepsi Center concerts have great versions of Choke.
They are "genera-defying", or as I put it, they are their own genera. Songs on the same album may be radically different - it just depends on what the feeling or "energy" of a particular song requires musically to express. They don't mind going anywhere musically if the tune needs it. Yes; generally speaking they write their own songs. On the latest album, "Keep Me Fed", for the first time they actively sought out and worked with other writers... but at the end of each production, it was their own sound. They addressed these other writers more as "helpful hints" than "please write this song for me". They had no problem discarding the ideas others tossed out if they didn't fit their vision for the tune.
🤘
You rightly warned against the danger of burnout (by the way, The Warning has a song titled Burnout). But I am afraid you yourself look like a burnout victim. Be careful!
I try! I work hard outside of UA-cam
