One of my earliest memories as a child is going by train from Nottingham Victoria to Derby Friargate with Mum and Dad. All I can remember is being in a non corridor coach which was filling up with smoke as we climbed up the gradient through the tunnels from Victoria to New Basford, but we must have gone over this viaduct. I think it would have been in 1964 just before the passenger service finished. Keep up the good work.
That was amazing. How am I going to top that 👌
That means a lot 😀 Thank you
Keep it up guys ☺️
That was a nice intro.
@@knowlesy3915 Thank you :)
How? Go do Woodhead tunnel, lol! Seriously, you'll find a way mate, I'm sure- Maybe Meddy 9 will be it for me. Cheers'n'beers.
Great stuff Ant, very informative as always, what a magnificent structure! Good to see you've dragged Martin away from the rivers of Manchester too... ;-)
🤣🤣🤣🤣
He'll be back for more even if it's just for an excellent pie he had for lunch 😂
I'd almost forgotten Bennerley. I used to work trains along the Erewaash from Guide Brige area to Toton and Doe Hill. Last went that way in 86/86, hence almost forgot. BUT! Never forgotten was Langley Mill junction, known to generations of railwaymen as 'Knickers Junction'! Apparently there used to be a womens underwaer/stockings etc. factory there, and the had a profile large scale advert in the shape of (I'm told) a womans bottom half nicely clad. Ahem. A nice presentation, and I really felt good on seeing it again. Cheers.
Hey thanks for the kind comment 😀 I believe there was also a similar thing on the Calverton branch too
My 2 favourite you tubers doing a video on one of my favourite viaducts just fab. ❤😊
Hi thanks for a nice video with lott of information on this place have a nice day my friend 🙏 🙏 👍 😇
There is someting reassuring about the desire to preserve these huge steel fossils of a past way of life. I liked the drone footage, icing on the cake of a entertaining and informative vid.
Hi Alan thanks so much for watching and the kind comment 😀 Plenty more to come every week 👍
Cracking vid as usual guys. You would love to see her now. The decking is down, and she should be open for “Traffic” anytime soon. I’ve done a couple of vids on her myself , and it’s great to see the progress. Although as (In your brill vid) a deserted icon of Victorian construction she had a kind of dignity, all her own. Trains ran into Nottingham Victoria, another icon, sadly now lost.
Excellent. I live locally and it still takes my breath away ,the photos are excellent, carry on the good work.
Thank you and Martin for todays tour. Cheers mates.
Really enjoyed this combination of the two of you great stuff music is very good big sound.john
Hi John glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching. Part 2 is planned to be along next week 👍

Wow! What a great video. Thanks guys!
Thank you Stephen 😀
Great one. Lovely work and old pictures.
I'm late to the party with this one. Great to see Martin, was this your first collaboration?
If it was you seem like you have known each other for years. Martin looked relaxed.
Wow such a massive viaduct spanning the whole of the valley, with the river Earwax just a small flow in the middle.
That's exactly what I called the River as a kid 😂 I went back a few months later and filmed it in flood. Thanks for watching 🙂
Is the viaduct open yet to walk across .
Awesome videos.
Can't believe how many pits & collieries there was in Nottinghamshire and none left.
09/01/2022 anytime now. Nearly there
Another well done Video 🤗
That 45 Peak writing is still down trent Junction.
Saw it yesterday while walking. T.a.p.l
1817 to 1834, the bulwell colliery mine ran, just to let you know.
this was very impressive drone footage, and all the background information about the viaduct was great!
have to ask this, which has NOTHING to do with the viaduct....I've noticed you wearing several Super Dry tshirts. being from the U.S., I am not familiar with Super Dry, but am still curious about all the tshirts. :-)
Other T-Shirts are available ha ha. It really is a luck of the draw. ( or drawer ) what i wear ha ha! About 20% of the drone footage was from the day i did the Erewash canal. Then i added to it the day we did this. For me, it's the music that makes it. I needed something different for this one. Next week it should be the power station, but i need to go back. So we may be back on the canals next week and then the power station the week after
Epic video, soryy you could hear me bumbling away on the phone in the background 😂
At the end 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Hello, what are the tracks you use in the video? When they are being played in the video, it gives me goosebumps, it's so atmospheric and amazing. What are the tracks named? Thank you
Hi Lindsay hope you are well 🙂 I'll certainly do that for you later on today. I've started including the track names and artists in the description on more recent uploads 🙂
The due drop Inn?
Sorry for the late comment, but i heard you aren't allowed on the viaduct anymore? Has access been closed off?
Love the videos by the way!
Hello 🙂 They started work on it about 3 month's ago, and it got closed off again i think. I'm pretty sure work has paused during Lockdown.
@@TrekkingExploration Thanks for letting me know, appreciate it 😊 might have a walk over today then! Take care and keep safe
@@anson9407 it's a nice day for it. I'll be going back when work is completed 😊
