as someone with adhd i tend to avoid these asmr videos because i often find them to be patronizing or infantilizing, but you handled this with professionalism and care like you do in all of your medical roleplays!!
I was a little hesitant to click on this one because I hate how “ASMR for people with ADHD” became a trend that seemed kind of not genuine sometimes. So I haven’t even watched this one yet and went straight to the comments to see what people are saying. I’ll give this one a shot!
Thank you! The trend was the initial idea and some of the tests, but I try to always back up what I'm doing with research from medical resources and the like. I want a degree of plausible reality while keeping it relaxing and, if I can, a little fun too :)
@@TBSxDRUMS same here. I can't stand the "ASMR for ADHD" because they always change what they're doing so quickly that it's overwhelming and distracting. Let me at least have enough time to process the sounds you're making! But this is great, lovely pace and respectful attitude... this is where I come when I wanna live out a fantasy lmao, doctors listening to patients
I usually don’t even try watching ADHD test videos bc I have ye olde ADHD and getting tested for it was stressful af, but I knew you’d handle it well and I’m glad I checked this video out. Thanks for creating an environment of respect in your videos ❤️ it means a lot
I really enjoy the added “educational” component of these ASMR videos. Calliope is an extremely bright and talented young lady who generously shares her gifts. I’m rather new to ASMR, and I enjoy the creativity as much as any other aspect. This is my new favorite channel. Thank you, Calliope!
Current life situation means my internet access is in flux, and I am missing so many great videos! Fortunately tonight I have access, so I'll be sleeping well tonight! As always, thank you for the wonderful, relaxing video!
I don’t remember when I got tested because I was 4 or 5 so I don’t know if this is accurate (probably not) but very relaxing. In case you didn’t know, most the time ADHD is genetic, so if you have it a parent likely has it as well, in my case it was my dad, and my granpa had it too. (When my granpa was a kid they didn’t exactly know adhd was a thing so he didn’t get diagnosed until he was an adult, my dad said he was one of the first people in our county to be diagnosed with adhd as a kid. Still growing up I thought everyone had the same issues I did, I took medicine but the normal medicine adderal didn’t work for me, I wouldn’t eat or sleep(aka I was never tired or hungry) so we changed it. I now take methylphenidate(which yes I do make meth jokes about) which pretty much works.) I don’t know why I ranted but uh I did. Thanks for reading I guess.
It's not accurate all the way, the screening test is and maybe there are some tests used but I haven't gotten my formal evaluation yet so I didn't have a basis. I used tests that focus on specific things like memory, attention, focus, etc like one would have in a formal evaluation. But yeah, my bio father has ADHD and this year we found out my brother AND my maternal aunt has ADHD so it's not surprising that I most likely have it as well. I won't be able to do meds but I know they're life changing for most people!
Hmm this is a bit strange. I'm diagnosed with ADHD and most of these seem pretty unrelated to ADHD, but it's practically a compilation of many of my favorite ASMR triggers. I am happy to answer any questions anyone has about ADHD, since I was diagnosed just over 10 years ago and I only just started addressing many issues around it in therapy over the past two years (they have been extremely insightful).
@@boo4509 I got tested by my pediatrician when I was around 17. If you are showing signs that you have ADHD, the people who could verify better than anyone else are probably your parents or older siblings. I brought them with and my doctor asked us both questions. The one that was the nail in the coffin for me was "Do you ever read a page in a book, reach the end of the page, and not remember anything you just read?" and I said all the time. My mind will start to wander and my eyes auto-pilot.
Hey, everyone, for real, if you have untreated adhd, talk to a doctor. I take Adderall for my adhd and could not believe how it took my life in a complete 180. AND its dirt cheap.
Talking to a doctor is a great idea, but meds are a journey. Some of us can take em, some can't, but there's a lot of stimulant and non-stimulant options out there. First step is chatting with your primary care person! :)
I don't have any resources for sure but you could check out the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) website, they have a helpline where they could maybe discuss it or give you more resources than I can: www.nami.org/help
Her: part of the evaluation is watching you if perhaps your attention is somewhere else Me, playing Plants vs. Zombies in a small window over my UA-cam window: excuuuuse meeeee my full attention is on you what makes you think otherwise?
Hahaha, that's how I felt when I talked with my ADHD friends and shared experiences - like "huh, this sounds awfully familiar... great, now I got to look into ADHD" haha
LMAO I feel that - luckily there are tons of resources and even if you don't have a diagnosis, if the little tips work for you and help, then that's something. That's how I first found out - advice for ADHD people helped me so much and I related to everyone that had ADHD and then here we are lololol
@@calliopewhispersASMR TBH I am not just suspecting adhd in my case, but again, no money for paying a therapists 3rd Porsche and I can kinda deal with my brand of weird :3

*always either answers no to the questionnaire, or have a reasonable explanation if it's yes* "Given your answers, I think we should move on with the test." I knew this was a scam for my money! XD
I feel that a bit; I had a bf that had severe hyperactive ADHD, was on the highest dose of Vyvanse but that only partially controlled it - I loved him to death but indeed, some days it was exhausting but he was very kind about giving space when needed haha I imagine as a kid it was quite a lot for his parents though!

ME TOO even when I edited this video and I WAS THE ONE FILMING IT. Actually even when I filmed it I couldn't remember WHILE I WAS DOING IT lmao
