Hardware now sadly neglected since the algorithm suggested one of your videos last month and brought me VCV. My late evenings lately are 1. Pick an Omri Cohen video 2. Try to keep up 3. Notice it is 1 AM and I'm only 2/3 through. This is tonight's experiment! Thank you Omri!
dude you are my penultimate hero! thanks to your awesome vids i have figured out how to set up a generative patch to send MIDI sequences to my three desktop synths for infinite good times - chord, arp, and bass as above. the power of the computer for sequence generation with hands on control of the sounds ....omg good times. i love you man, thank you soooooo much 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much for explaining modular in terms we can all understand! If you ever are in Nashville let me know. I'll show you my studio and buy you dinner!
you make this all look so simple - I love your explanations and thank you very much for being part of this process of learning modular. Always great to see your videos. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I've built a few stochastic tracks using Reaktor or VCV, and this is exactly the sort of guidance I needed in order to move up a level.
As always, it was fun to follow along with you and set up this patch. I found I wanted more of the 5th channel (the noise through the PEQ6) than I could get with mixer settings, so I ran the lines from Caudal each through a rectifier before feeding the signal to the PEQ6 levels.
Thanks so much man, I've watched a few of your videos, and they are very informative and deep diving. Of course I have to watch more, and wait for the 'Oh yes' moments. Please keep up the good work.
First of all, thanks for all you do Omri, VCV Rack is really the answer to my music making aspirations and your guides have been essential in my learning process. Now a wee bit of advice for other numpties like me who download this patch, before you spend half the morning fiddling with your audio drivers and settings because you are getting no sound, try unmuting the MixMaster...
Oh... Yeah, I always mute the mixer so there's no chance of getting a burst of sound when loading the patch. Sorry about that... But I'm glad you enjoy my work! Thank you!
I know this is something I want to learn and I know I am capable of learning it, but my creativity has just not been there. I need to see the thought process in action and these videos do exactly that, thank you!
an infinite thank *YOU* Omri. i think this might be my favorite tutorial from you. it is soooo beautiful. i will have to follow the tutorial multiple times to understand how all this beauty is achieved. and i haven't even added additional modules as you suggested. i can sit for a long time just listening to the tutorial version. 🙏 😃 i did add some valhalla shimmer. hehe.
I just noticed you group-selecting to move multiple neighbouring components throughout this amazing video that I've returned to. Just in case you haven't discovered it yet, if you hold CTRL when you drag a component, it will "push" whatever is in its way.
Such a pretty patch chock full of modulation. I always come away from your videos with loads of little systems and ideas but I think my lack of music theory prevents any of my attempts from sounding good, haha.
Well, something like the Aaron Static modules is a perfect way of enjoying patching without any music theory. The modules will do everything for you I guess :)
Music theory isn't that hard. You can pick the bulk of what you need up in a couple of hours at most. At least we don't have to do that Ling Ling 25 hours a day practice to make great patches.
Hello Omri, I am new to the world of modular synth and definitely enjoying every moment. I would like to know how to use sends (eg. reverb send in this video) using the MindMeld mixer. Thanks for your time.
Hi! The MinMeld mixer has an expander that has sends and returns. You just load the epxnader and place it to the right of the mixer and it should work. Then you have send outputs and return inputs to connect the effects. Just make sure to set the effect to 100% wet so you don't get the signal twice. Let me know if it works for you :)
Hi thanks for this course ! I'm trying to find out how to get the root index from cv input and scale to create chords from cv input with diatonic cv, does anyone know how to do that ?
Hello Omri, I wanted to ask you what commercial modules are helpful to create generative patches, is there a collection that makes the difference? Or, in general, are they small details that commercial modules bring to more advanced users. Thank you for your time!
Hi! Well, there are so many free modules available that are perfect for generative patches. That said, if you want to experiment with interesting approaches, I really recommend the Mysteries collection from Vult. But again, there are many free modules that are really good.
@@OmriCohen-Music Omri, thank you very much for your time and for the answer! It is incredible what I have learned in these last months with your Gumroad courses, I was able to acquire both and the truth is that I am very happy to have found this study channel, greetings from Buenos Aires !
Hi Omri, I'm learning so much from your channel and intend to take your courses soon too. Beginner question but does using something like the ScaleCV prevent having to tune Oscillators or are those two separate things?
Hey, thanks so much! In VCV, most, if not all, oscillators will be tuned to C by default so there's no need to tune things. That said, detuning oscillators might give some movement to everything. Also, having the oscillators tuned to C means that you will get, most of the times, the C scale (minor, major, and so on). Does this make sense?
Thank you for that Omri, I'm completely new to this stuff so that video provided me with lots of inspiration. I completely ripped off your patch, added a few beeps of my own and ended up with this: ua-cam.com/video/ZRI7RYEYh18/v-deo.html
Another fantastic use of my modules. Thanks Omri 😊
Thank you so much for this lovely collection!
Seconded, your modules are excellent! Cheers man ✌️
Yes, you modules are at the correct pitch. Thank you! I'm surprised how many quantizers are out of pitch.
Just subscribed to your yt channel. Thanks for your modules! Are you on Cardinal as well?
@@bonaventura_AKA_ben Thanks for the sub! Yes I do seem to be included in Cardinal according to their github

Same here, except i have ZERO musical background and i still try to keep up and learn. Fascinating stuff.

Oh the hours you can burn away with VCV and Omri…❤😂
This is the second of your videos I've watched now, and I really like the way you build things up and explain the reasoning why.

Its too bad the patches no longer work due to missing modules and vcv rzck doesn't recognize the self installed ones
This doesn't seem easy at all. What's step 1? What's step 2? It seems like you skipped some critically important steps.
