I honestly believe he needs, or at least deserves buffs. Since OW2 launch, he's gotten nothing but nerfs or reverts of nerfs. Hell, if we compare him currently to season 8: * Faster ult travel, so less total damage/ area control. * 20% slower charge rate, meaning 20% longer he moves slower. * Does less damage proportionally to the average character. Now does 125/250 as opposed to 120/200. * He may have +25 hp, but the reduced draw speed on top of everyone else having bigger bullets than in S8 just makes him easier to kill. And this was no longer justified when they decided to give him back the 5 damage they took ages ago. * And now his arrows are back to 0.1 when literally everyone else had their sizes buffed to anywhere between 0.05-0.35 or larger. * And the only buff he actually got was a CD buff to his Storm Arrow. I DO NOT count reverts as buffs. So, I'm not counting the Storm Arrow buff to 75. He's slower, easier to hit/ kill, has an even worse ult, does less damage per shot in proportion to enemy health, and now requires more precision than anyone else. Going by pattern recognition and personal opinion, there's no way they aren't either buffing his arrows to 0.15 minimum or buffing his arrow speed to be the fastest in the game if it isn't already. Literally everyone else is better in every way compared to their S8 states except him.
@@butterphli3z he's never been regarded as anything more than a throw pick, and if the player does happen to get picks with him, it's always "you suck, you have no skill, spamzo, all luck" etc etc. But funny enough, what people fail to realize is that projectiles are luck based by default because you CANNOT know when/ how an enemy is going to move, meaning skill lies in acting out accurate PREDICTIONS made the at most 1-2 seconds you have. If they want him to take only skill though, there's a simple solution, 2 actually: 1, make everyone a projectile hero so they all become "lucky spammers". Or 2, make him hitscan. By reducing the luck factor of predicting the target, you are by extension, raising the skill factor. Simple. Everyone wins either way even if they don't know it.
Am I to understand that the faster ultimate travel decreased the total damage? I throught it "ticked" 20% faster aswell, keeping the total damage the same o.O (or whatever % they made it faster by)
@darkharvest8098 I would be shocked if there is no hanzobuff for next season. Sniper hanzo is so much more difficult than spamzo I assume these changes lowered hanzo winrate by at least 5%. My guess is they either leave him back as the hard niche main character (which is doubtful since hanzo skins sell so well) or maybe revert reload speed nerf and storm arrows buff + maybe lunge -1 cd?
As someone who can't play Hanzo but enjoy watching Hanzo gameplay, I don't think they should make his proj bigger. I actually think the nerf from 0.175 to 0.1 was the most fair and honest nerf he could receive. If we want to lean more into the sniper playstyle, we have to make it more consistent resulting in less frustration for both the Hanzo player and his opponents. So here's what I would do : -keep the proj size the same or even potentially reduced it down to 0.075 -increase proj speed from 110 to 130-140 m/s. Second solution would be to lean into the "mid-range sniper" and in this case we'd have to : -give him fall off damage after like 25 meters. -give him more brawl/escape/survivability tools : • Increasing lunge's length or even giving him a 2nd lunge charge would be nice. • reverting his health to 250 could/should be a thing More general changes : -Storm arrow •arrow count reduced from 5 to 4, proj size potentially reduced. Why ? Because the devs talked about the "projectile spamming" or sth like that in their patch to explain the frustration linked to Hanzo, but they didn't actually nerf the most spammy part of his kit, so this is what I'd do. -Storm bow •revert the bow charge time to 0.72 sec or at least 0.8. • allow to keep your charged arrow while wall climbing -dragon strike : • deals damage to deployables • speed reverted OR model length increased by 20%.
Arrge actually produces the most enjoyable gameplay to watch and puts a lot of effort into his videos. not just sharing a regular gameplay but professionally combaining a lot of clips to serve a video around a specific topic. thats the difference when someone actually does something they really love.

the hanzo changes genuinely made me hate the character less. Now if I get headshot by a hanzo, I know they probably actually know how to shoot heads. The extra reload time is a necessary evil for being able to oneshot most heroes.
I am Very happy that Hanzo has oneshot again, now he is more balanced, stronger and funnier to play. When the enemy team gets tilted by slime Hanzo, they always switch to Sombra. So I switch to Sombra and hang back and hack the Sombra which makes it even more slimey.

I watched you from so long ago and then recently when I started playing Overwatch again I found ml7 and I was watching him always thinking he’s you the crazy hanzo even tho I would never see him play hanzo and was confused and thought that he just got bored of him

If there is a large constant and vocal consensous that the hero isn't fun to fight, the hero shouldn't be strong. I'd argue that the hero shouldn't even be balanced. It's okay for characters to be weak, especially if the player base doesn't enjoy playing against them. That's why heros like widow, doom, and sombra shouldn't be strong (or at least not for too long). I think Hanzo is in a good spot because he has his character identity as a silent sniper and ranged burst damage. He doesn't need to be strong or even balanced since many players dislike fighting him, but he does need to be playable and have his hero identity intact, which I feel he has right now. I'm so glad oneshot is back, the reversion was really good. This way only the actual Hanzo players will play him, and can do well as specialists, meanwhile non hanzo specialist players won't play him because he's not strong. This makes it so that the Hanzo players can still enjoy him, but they aren't too many Hanzos so Hanzo dislikers (which is quite alot of players) don't play against him as much.

Always think to yourself after a miss: did your target expect it? If the answer is yes. You were never supposed to hit that shot. Focus on improving the shots you take on unaware targets and reducing the amount of shots you take on aware ones

It's Sombra and Widowmaker that are definitively obnoxious. WIdowmaker controls the lobby, and even when you think you're safe, the best Widows grapple right into the sky, gank you and instantly make it a 4 v 5. Sombra's escape tool is way too lenient but it is counterable; her invisibility is not counterable, and you can be setting up on an angle without knowing a Sombra is there pinging you to your team, and she has hacked you to remove all abilities just as her team gets to you.
I wanna know what crosshair you use, and the crosshair length, because I believe you have it perfectly where you aim the "drop-off" of the arrow length to the length of the bottom crosshair if i'm not mistaken. its SO PERFECT. at least thats what it looks like, i may be wrong. I've always been bad with hanzo. I would like to get better. but using default crosshair feels and looks terrible.
I tried to learn hanzo. But I have bad habits from Team Fortress 2. For context: In TF2 there is a bow for sniper "Huntsman" but: 1. It has different projectail speed 2. When you Hold your arrow too long, your hand starts shaking and it goes in different direction. So when I play hanzo I stop holding my arrow for a moment sometimes and starts aming again 😢
The game is more ballanced now with the hanzo changes. You could feel the widow meta which was literally boring before the buff. And it's kinda difficult to nerf widow so the hanzo buff Ballanced it.

Why would they keep his storm arrow hitboxes large? Wouldn’t it make sense to make them smaller as well since it’s literally just a barrage of arrows
I tried to learn hanzo. But I have bad habits from Team Fortress 2.
For context:
In TF2 there is a bow for sniper "Huntsman" but:
1. It has different projectail speed
2. When you Hold your arrow too long, your hand starts shaking and it goes in different direction. So when I play hanzo I stop holding my arrow for a moment sometimes and starts aming again 😢

The game is more ballanced now with the hanzo changes.
You could feel the widow meta which was literally boring before the buff.
And it's kinda difficult to nerf widow so the hanzo buff Ballanced it.
