I'm Scottish and just want to give a big shout out to our wonderful Welsh cousins. That's some mighty fine scenery you've got going on down there Beeeutifuulll !!!
For anyone going to Snowdonia make sure you have some good gear and waterproofs, it most certainly will rain. When I did the three peaks back in 2014 Snowden fell on the sunniest day and the skies cleared coming down, I gotta say that half an hour jog down felt so easy. Can't say the say on the two other days with their torrential rain.
So glad to see you come to North Wales we moved here to get a B&B it’s St Hilary Guesthouse In Llandudno at the coast. Glad you enjoyed it, it’s a beautiful area ❤️
A proper hike guys, well done, you will never forget climbing Snowdon. Hope you managed to get a warming meal afterwards. Remember to try some Welsh lamb before leaving, it's the best. See you in Bonny Scotland!
Thank you so much for this video. I toured England, Scotland and Wales a year ago (almost to the day-in fact a year ago today I was in York Minster) and want to go back so much!!! I’m glad you are taking me there with you. You guys rock!
Great to see you enjoying our islands, guys. I love the genuine excitement and pleasure you exude. But please be a bit more careful when hill walking or climbing here in future. The weather can change very quickly and you need to be prepared for that. Strong footwear, layers, hat, waterproofs and some food and drink are the bare essentials. Especially if you head North to do The Ben. Our Mountain Rescue Teams are volunteers and they get called out far too often because people (including us natives!) just aren't prepared. Thank you for posting your lovely videos of this weird and wonderful place.
Beautiful Wales! Great views and love the drone shots. Thanks for going above and beyond so I can watch you hike a mountain whilst drinking a cup of hot coffee. 😉
I love how all the locals are like 'please be more prepared when hiking in th UK'! It's so true! We may not have the highest mountains but we do have some of the most unpredictable weather which can create havoc! So strange to see you commenting on how bad the weather got! I mean for rainy Wales... you had it good! lol We went up Pen Y Fan (Brecon Beacons) on a day that started with hail in Cardiff and low lying cloud, ended up being one of the hottest days of the year and the day some soldiers in training died from heat exhaustion. I've climbed many places in the world, but Wales has got to be the most changable I've experienced. Having said that, awesome shots of the Welsh hills!
Well done reaching the summit! I was in south Wales over the summer and hiked a section of Brecon Beacons and absolutely tuckered myself out,. And that wasn't nearly as taxing a hike as Snowdon, I'm sure. Love Wales!
I live in North Wales and I'm so pleased you loved your time here! Make sure you come back soon because there are plenty more beautiful places to explore! Safe travels.
Eric and Allison, I highly recommend you look for UA-cam videos of the Mach Loop which is in Wales. The Mach Loop is a set of valleys, situated between Dolgellau in the north, and Machynlleth in the south (and from which the Mach Loop gets its name), which are regularly used for low level flight training, with flying as low as 250 feet (76 metres) from the nearest terrain. The RAF and the USAF train there. The videos of the jets along with the breathtaking scenery are really fantastic. I've never seen them 'in real life' but regularly watch on UA-cam. Great video btw. I really enjoyed it, thanks.
Eric thank you so much for the included drone shots! I so look forward to them! It adds a measure of professionalism to your videos that is unsurpassed, and the views are breathtaking! Allison your celebratory dance at the summit was so believable!!! Y'all are great actors when the moment requires added exuberance😁 Your smiles and laughter were absolutely contagious when the sheep were yelling at you😂🐑
I enjoy watching your videos BUT please for anyone climbing Snowdon please check weather beforehand and take appropriate clothing. It may not be the highest mountain but the weather can get pretty extreme in a few moments.
Started to watch your vid's a few weeks ago and thought ok just another vacation blog but after watching a few more i have grown to like and enjoy your stuff. keep having fun in the UK.
Shame you never got to enjoy the amazing views from the summit but at least it never rained, well done! I live locally and go up Snowdon and all the surrounding mountains all the time, I love wild camping up there too, that's an amazing experience I'd highly recommend.
We did this many, many years ago when I was in the Army and I can testify that the weather can change In minutes, really, it went from warm and barmy to an arctic blizzard in under a minute
Thanks for sharing your wonderful holiday. I've been to Snowdonia back in the 90's. It was excellent! I remember the clouds being below us as we approached the summit, Heavenly! God Bless you guys. Steven.
I have climbed Snowdon 6 times and once when it was windy enough to stop the trains from running fantastic experience every time ,and even saw rush hour on the mountain where all the sheep are brought down for winter
I have been twice both times very hot and sunny. Aparentley on a very clear day you can see Ireland from the top I could see the Irish sea when I whent up about ten miles away.
I can't believe you guys went up the Pyg track (and with minimal gear!) The Pyg track has some really steep and difficult parts. If you do visit again, come in summer on the clearest day you can, because the view from the summit is breathtaking. I highly recommend the Llanberis track. It's the most gentle route to the top, unless you count the train of course :) loved the video and have subscribed
I watched this when you first posted. Really appreciated that you visited North Wales and enjoyed all those vlogs. On rewatching, I’m thinking you would have been better just doing the ‘trail’ up Snowdon from near where you parked. It looks like you were near the Watkin Trail in Nant Gwynant. Yes, it’s more of a climb, as you start at a lower altitude, but it’s not that much more difficult than the trail you took, and you wouldn’t have had the problems with transport that you experienced. We’ve done most of the Snowdon trails, our favourites being the less busy routes from the Snowdon Ranger (there’s a YHA hostel at the base) and the Rhydd Ddu route. Having grown up in North Wales I suggest that anyone wanting to walk up Snowdon check out weather reports before setting out. It’s a mountain that is notorious for casualties, even in summer. In other seasons it claims a lot of lives. I guess people think it’s not that high and it has a touristy train to the summit, so must be pretty easy? Out of the summer season a combination of ice and gentle slopes above precipitous cliffs can make it lethal.
Did you not drive through Betys-y-coed in the Snowdonia National Park? It's breathtaking and a visit to Swallow Falls is a must. Lladudno is a beautiful seaside town at the foot of the Great Orme, also worth a visit. Wales holds a lot of childhood memories for me, but it's only as I got older that I realised just how beautiful it is.
We were there in May this year. found car park lot full and had to park 1.5 miles down the road and hiked to car park. We had to abort try for the day and I returned at 6 am the next day and made the hike top. Easy walk up but not so easy down.
I dunno guys this has to be one of my fav vids of yours, been watching since pretty much the beginning. dunno if it was the lamb laughing at 'y'all' or the sudden cut shot of that beautiful drone footage or the sudden cut to allison completely sodden and a right mess but triumphantly reaching the top of Snowden. proper made me chuckle. Thanks for sharing your adventure and showing us all places we don't know of or havn't seen yet! \o/
The Llanberis track is the easiest and pick a good sunny warm day and extra clothing and good walking boots .The higher you get the colder it gets .we went in September 5 times and once in August same day as the Girl Guides was up at monument on the very top, fantastic views of North Wales
I live up a mountain it Wales it can be foggy and cloudy and I drop from 800 feet to 400 in a mile the wether is normally much better in mountain ash and Aberdare
Love your "back to nature" videos! Stunning scenery and you captured it beautifully with your drone. No restrictions on using a drone in national parks over there? At first I thought it was Eric crying "Help!" 😜
I climbed Mount Snowdon as the final part of the 24 hour three peaks challenge (Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell in England and then Snowdon) 20 years ago. We started Snowdon at 3 am. Amazing experience so nice to see the mountain again. Happy days.
This video makes me so happy to be British! We've hiked Snowden a few times and have done 4 of the trails. The views are so fantastic but I don't think we've ever been to the top without being covered in clouds! Great video guys
Great to see you guys adventuring in Wales 🏴 You have to come back in your new RV and then 'The Welsh Dragon Wagon' can show you around some of the beautiful locations we have here in South Wales 🤙🏼🏴
I would be a bit better prepared equipment wise in future as in boots, waterproofs and a map, fell walking is dangerous and should be tackled with caution planning.
Especially in weather like that. If the clouds had come down, they could have been stuck. I love how they showcase the country but this could have been so dangerous.
Can't agree more, I've had the weather change rapidly when up snowdon. Glorious sun, to bitter rain within 10/15 mins. Watching them set off, without waterproofs/boots just made me cringe.
I’ve climbed snowdon countless times as a young teen in trainers and a jumper. Yes it can get cold and windy. It’s not Everest. Unless you’re tackling Crib Goch they’ll be just fine.
@@joshuamatheron1 Hey Joshua, those of us who follow North Wales news are unfortunately aware of how many people need to be rescued off Snowdon and surrounding peaks. Compared to the height of mountains in other countries they might seem tame. They are not, and the weather is so changeable.
So pleased I stuck with this video, as it turned out to be awesome! Never seen one of yours before and I don't normally subscribe to big channels but I have to watch your Helvellyn video, (as I love that climb) as well. At first I was like... What, it this amature hour, late start, no proper equipment but continued watching and it was a real fun, well produced and edited watch. I have done the 3 highest peaks in the UK and Snowdon was the one that left me totally underwhelmed. To be fair, we were forced (due to a friends bad knee) to take the tourist (Llanberis) path and the weather was pants all the way to the top, so we never got a view either lol. Good to see you got down and eventually, back to your digs safely. Great watch, cheers Alan
I like going up the Pyg track and Down the miners track like you did, as you head back south from where you parked, there is a pub called the Pen Y Gwryd hotel which is where Edmund Hillary based himself for the training exercises for the sucessfull Everest attempt.
Another great video!! It's worth pointing out, as others have, that many people treat Snowdon & Helvellyn as Sunday strolls but are ignorant about just how fast really bad weather can roll in. It doesn't take much in the way of wind, rain and cloud to make you wish you'd bought serious outdoor weather gear.
If you are traveling up the M6 to Scotland . Visit the Castlerigg stone circle just of the Penrith A66 exit. It's 4000 yrs old and the view is stunning
@@ynys_mon6928 Yes, it's just a folk tale (but still part of Welsh heritage). Prince LLewelyn was real however. Anyway, regardless of if its real or not, it's a bitter-sweet story and a beautiful place to visit.
Yes, I’m aware that Llewelyn was real. I grew up in North Wales and studied Welsh history at school and in Uni. When we visit North Wales Beddgelert is one of our favourite places to visit, it’s a lovely setting and I think it is lovely enough to attract people without the Gelert legend. Wonderful walks nearby and lots of real history, like the nearby copper mine, also the Arthurian legends associated with Dinas Emrys, a ruined hill fort.
Hi again. o/ Main tip for things like Snowdon, Cadair Idris, Blencathra et cetera: get there to day before, sleep there and set off early. The sooner you get up there the longer you get to spend at the summit waiting for a gap in the clouds and that perfect view before you *have* to come back down and the more likely you are to be back before everything shuts down ... ... including the sunlight. Being back down before the sunlight shuts down for the night is quite important. Minor tip: if you thought that bit you showed was vertical and scary you'd find the Scale Force path exciting. It has ... moments.
You guys wanna try South Wales, Swansea has some stunning beaches and try cockles & lavabread in the markets, if you want mountains try the Brecon Beacons and Pen Y Fan.
@@zensjustbrowsing8281 All trails are good, but Crib Goch is probably the most challenging. As for places to visit: Portmeirion Village (A small Italian village in Wales - I work here) Ffestiniog Railway Welsh Highland Railway Blaenau Ffestiniog slate caverns, and zip world Mach Loop - where you can see low flying fighter aircraft zooming through the valleys at low level One of the few gliding clubs which take you across North Wales Caernarfon Castle And many many more
I've hiked to the top of Snowdon /Yr Wyddfa twice; each time it was so cloudy at the top that there was no view at all (on the 2nd trip it was thundering and lightning on the way down, which was a bit scary).
My favourite trail is the one that goes past the old abandoned and derelict miners cottages, it's long and quite treacherous, but the scenery is awesome!
My wife and I made the mistake of climbing snowdon one autumn when the weather was nasty. Took us a few hours to get up there but then my back and legs gave way and I couldn’t see myself getting back down and it was getting dark. The last train down was full and we were starting to worry about how we would get back. Thankfully the staff took pity on us and let us ride the staff train down for free. I’d love to hike it again, but sadly my body has other ideas.
I'm due to walk up next week! You mentioned hellvelyn via striding edge then down swirrel Edge. That was my first mountain climb! Would you say it was easier or harder than snowdon?
So I've been wanting to make a trip to the Scottish Highlands all my life and now I'm including Wales to that trip. Wow had no idea what epic scenery I was missing.
I'm Welsh and walking up the pyg track is probably the most suitable for travelers/tourists. I live in deganwy and walking up yr wyddfa (Snowdon) is fun to do on a weekend
It's good to see I'm not the only one to suffer the fog curse. I've been up Snowdon 6 times including sleeping just off the summit overnight and I have yet to see the view from the top. Same thing happened when I went up mt Washington!
Stunning B roll footage, and congrats on getting to the top. I've not checked in on you guys for a couple of months so it looks like I've got some catching up to do :)

They're staying in deganwy, llandudno would be a good idea since I live there and llandudno is my 'town' I go to
We love Llandudno too.
You guys wanna try South Wales, Swansea has some stunning beaches and try cockles & lavabread in the markets, if you want mountains try the Brecon Beacons and Pen Y Fan.
hey guys great video i would rate it as one of the best you have done the drone and editing the finest you are getting better all the time cheers
The best way to experience Snowdon is to go in along Crib Goch, wouldn't advise it on a foggy day though.
I live in this area, some of the roads you show in the video are some of my most favorite roads to ride my motorcycle on, regardless of weather.
Any trail routes you recommend for climbing Mt Snowden? What are some of your favorite places to visit?
@@zensjustbrowsing8281 All trails are good, but Crib Goch is probably the most challenging.
As for places to visit:
Portmeirion Village (A small Italian village in Wales - I work here)
Ffestiniog Railway
Welsh Highland Railway
Blaenau Ffestiniog slate caverns, and zip world
Mach Loop - where you can see low flying fighter aircraft zooming through the valleys at low level
One of the few gliding clubs which take you across North Wales
Caernarfon Castle
And many many more
@@nvstewart Thank you🌼
I've hiked to the top of Snowdon /Yr Wyddfa twice; each time it was so cloudy at the top that there was no view at all (on the 2nd trip it was thundering and lightning on the way down, which was a bit scary).
My favourite trail is the one that goes past the old abandoned and derelict miners cottages, it's long and quite treacherous, but the scenery is awesome!
You should try walking the dam wall at Llyn Brenig when the RAF planes fly over and down the valley, really noisey and awsome.
I've walked the Pyg track a couple of times!
Oh my Gosh, glad you came down okay. We love Snowdonia and recently climbed Snowdon but were super lucky with the weather :)
well send someone else, on your behalf. I love dangerous sports, but always let someone else represent me---no danger, simples.
Drone shots were beyond epic. Great job!
Welsh Cakes are lovely. But...where did you go after Snowdon? Did you walk back down the Pyg track?
I'm due to walk up next week! You mentioned hellvelyn via striding edge then down swirrel Edge. That was my first mountain climb! Would you say it was easier or harder than snowdon?
I spent 4 years in North Wales... That was one of the good days weather wise.
Beautiful hike, didn’t know sheep 🐑 had tails like that and congratulations on your “Rocky” moment 🥊🏔
MemoryRoses These ones are obviously undocked.
NickyL I came to that conclusion, thank you. I just had never seen one before.
Stunning B roll footage, and congrats on getting to the top. I've not checked in on you guys for a couple of months so it looks like I've got some catching up to do :)
