Might you not use a 22mm or 27mm to line brush a mature drop coat, eg, Havanese, and perhaps afterwards use the 35mm with the dog standing to compose the coat to make it lay correctly before going in the ring?

Hi. Thanks for your videos. I am in the U.K. and enjoy watching them. I have a Bolognese dog and it is hard work to maintain her coat. I have tried so many brushes over the last 3 years. She has a flocked, crinkle curl coat which I just can’t get very long as it Matt’s so easily. Any harness or coats when it’s cold causes Matts. I would love a breed specific tutorial on coat care for a Bolognese, as I think there must be a real art to knowing what products to put on their hair, and what brushes to use and how to use them properly in order to allow their full coat to grow longer. They don’t seem to follow the same rules as bischons Any tips or advice would be great. Thanks so much.
