So you just articulated my thoughts when I've wanted to explain to my friends why my favorite worlds and fandoms are 'kids shows' Thank u sweet fandom mum
@@AMillionMadMusings true, but you get used to it, then you FALL SO HARD. you could teach a master class based off of tdp character design. if you like avatar you'd like tdp. also there are elf husbands.
@@AMillionMadMusings I think every Dragon Prince Fan has to admit that the first season is...not that good (apparently the choppy animation was a stylistic choice? Anyway, they got rid of it in season two) But both the animation and the story and characters get SO GOOD in season two and three! The LGBTQ+ rep is fantastic, and there is also a disabled lady who kicks a lot of ass! I can also highly recommend the Tales of Arcadia Trilogy. The first part is "Trollhunters", the second "3Below", and "Wizards" will be out soon. It's a series by Guillermo del Toro!
phineas and ferb, kim possible and recess still absolutely slap even though i'm no longer eight. Over the Garden Wall and Clone Wars also can be called 'kids shows' but the themes and some of the shit that goes down are stuff the adults can absolutely relate to and even understand more as an adult
Gravity Falls. It's literally one of the most amazing animated shows I've seen in a long time. There is so much effort and love put into the series, you've just got to watch it! Theories and mysteries surround the entire show. Some episodes get real dark (sometimes I question whether it really is a KIDS show) but Alex Hirsch (the director, writer, voice actor...pretty much the best human being in the world) has somehow managed sneak them past Disney and they make the show that much better. Star Vs The Forces of Evil is also another show to watch after but Gravity Falls is a must!
I feel like kids cartoons are more mature then we give then credit for . In hey Arnold i forgot his he had to give up his daughter for a chance of a better life. Cartoons even in movies can teach us hard stuff. Just because is for kids that doesn't mean is dumb rant over plus are you do tipsy otps about eve and villanelle from killing eve and talk how it similar to hannibal and will please.
Steven Universe has SPOILED me for all other shows since everything is so well thought out and they care so much about their characters and their development. . . and tackling big themes without being preachy. . . and casually having amazing music. . . we STAN
Yes! Everything you said, especially that last one. Legend of Aang is still the number one escapism for me 😅 and I feel the same about YA novels! I tried to force myself to read "real" books but honestly? I read for fun and escapism and what's more fun than YA fantasy??
I would love a tipsy otp of monty and Percy from ‘gentleman’s guide to vice and virtue.’ They are ship worthy so much and I have been crying over them for three consecutive days. Thank youuuuu!
i’ve been rewatching adventure time for the last two years and it’s just such a lovely escape from school & general life stress, it’s genuinely my favourite tv show and continues to keep that spot even as my enjoyment of other ‘adult’ shows fluctuates. i also really want to rewatch gravity falls, would recommend if u haven’t already watched it!
I felt this in my soul recs: STEVEN UNIVERSE CLONE WARS the dragon prince voltron (last season is not great but hey) over the garden wall gravity falls star vs. the forces of evil hilda
Steven Universe is SO worth the watch! Also Over the Garden Wall is so short but so wonderful but I absolutely recommend watching that in autumn. Gravity Falls is my all time favourite and I would recommend it to everyone. It's so so so good.
I'm currently watching the old Star Trek series (and I mean the OLD original one with Shatner and Nimoy) and I think it's the same as this. It's so relaxing, the episodes aren't long and everything is gonna be fine eventually. (and yes there is definitely a correlation between how stressful ones life is and how much Star Trek/kids cartoons one is watching) And thank you, when I'm done with that I will start to rewatch Avatar bc I haven't seen that since I was ten
Really I'll admit, I was actually born mute. The reason I love cartoons and respect them is because when I was around 2, I still couldn't speak, but one day when my Dad was looking for cartoons but Dora was on so he put it. Guess what? I stood in front of the TV and tried speaking like her. In a few days... in a few days... I COULD SPEAK. And it's a miracle to me!
My fave has always been Gravity Falls! Not to underestimate timeless classics such as Sailor Moon or W.I.T.C.H. (though I definetly do prefer the comic to the tv series...)
I agree completely. Sometimes adulting is just hard and you need to escape from the pain and anxiety with fluffy goodness. :D I'd recommend Gravity Falls, too. I watched it for the first time this year and it's such a fun show.
@@xingrong-dm7wp Thanks for the recommendation.😊 I'd really like watch it some time but sadly only seasons 5 and 6 are available on Netflix. For whatever reason. 😅

I’ve tried it but I find the animation SO JANKY??
@@AMillionMadMusings Yeah, the animation is not very fluid, which gives it a kinda choppy feel. It's not everyone's cup of tea :)
