They don't need to fully flip it like a human would do to fully show themselves it's not real. Just the lifting was enough to understand it's not a hole and it's probably fun to keep picking it up and dropping it to them @TheNameOfJesus

Otters may not have trichromatic vision like we do (they're more like dogs in that regard) but they can definitely see black-&-white. No doubt in my mind they saw the rug as it was meant to be seen. Kotaro reacted like we expect. 😂
